Closing Seasonal Events -- Why?

Does any other game/media do this? Do you buy a blu-ray or dvd to have certain scenes delete if you haven't watched the movie in its entirety?

What are your thoughts?

I know that on DVD the Movie Galaxy Quest had extra content you couldn't view until you watched the film. (However you could just watch the last chapter for it to work)

As for the seasonal's I love them. Wish we could continue to race on them too. (I know they wouldn't be seasonal) I think updating/downloading them to the regular A-spec would be cool.
Seriously a few events are lacking any real race events. (like the Lambo events - Why not make more than 1 race?).

Even if they allowed you to re-race them for the dated time period, for half the credits would be very cool.
