Hey guys, it looks like the brakes is acting up. Seems when I press down its not registering and when I push it very hard the brake pressure goes all over the place.

Can anyone tell me what checks I should do and how this problem might be fixed? Is it the load cell or is the magnet not in the right place?

I know my accelerator stuffed up a few times and I fixed that by realigning the magnet - is it the same thing for the brakes? It looks a bit different..

Thank you

As far as I'm aware, there is no magnet on the brake pedal. Sounds to me like your loadcell is acting up. Fanatec can supply this item for you. I've swapped mine out a couple of times; no biggy. I'd buy a couple if I were you; handy to have a spare or two...

Contact Fanatec support. I had an errant brake pedal some time ago, and Fanatec was great with their support. They sent me a new load cell element and I was good to go. If you have a spare, replace it if your brake output is "spiking" or "bouncing".

I agree it's probably the load cell, it wouldn't hurt to purchase an extra load cell.

can anyone give me a tutorial on how to replace the load cell?

I tried google without any luck

You cast your net too wide, GTP search pulled this right up:

Right here on GTP, post #3 by OlderRacer 1944 on this thread titled: How to remove/install CSP Load Cell.

1. Remove pedal assembly from your stand.
2. Turn it upside down and loosen but don't remove the small metric allen head set screw on the left of the load cell.
3. Carefully remove the three wire electrical connector from the PC board noting that the white wire is at the top.
4. Slide the old load cell out of the black metal block noting its position in that block.
5. Slide the new one in place with the help of screwdriver pushing the metal bar back into the black metal block.
6. Check that the metal push bar inside the block aligns with the center of the "dimple" on the load cell.
7. Snug up the loosened set screw when the load cell is aligned.
8. Reconnect the three pin electrical connector with the white wire on top using a pair of tweezers to set it in place.
9. Reinstall the assembly in your stand.
