I was planning to upgrade to a Fanatec setup, and as they've discontinued the P1 wheel (only available in the WRC edition and I loathe Alcantara) I was looking at getting the R300 leather rim with a hub.

However, according to the PDF quick guide (and Fanatec support when I emailed them), neither the xbox or "regular" hub is fully button compatible with the PS4/5.
I then came across this thread contradicting that...

Does anybody here have experience using either hub on a PS4/5?
If so, can you check or verify the following?
  • Does the guide button/funkyswitch map to PS button?
  • Does A/B/X/Y map to PS symbol buttons as you'd expect (xbox version)?
  • Any buttons missing (option/L2/L3/L3/R3)?
I guess looking for a used P1 wheel would be my fallback here?

Edit: added link to the PDF

I don't have their hub, however Fanatec does have separate items for each console. So I would strongly assume that you have to use the PS4/5 hub on the PS4/5. The Xbox one is likely PC compatible too (may the PS4/5 one too? - unsure on that). So I would skip the Xbox hub if you plan to use it on the PS4/5 just to be safe.

There is no PS4/5 hub, only Xbox and PC/generic hubs.
The PS compatibility chip is in the base, not the hub.

Yes, the FunkySwitch press activates the PS button.
Thanks for confirming!

Hope you'll consider reintroducing the P1 wheel (or a similar non-alcantara option) as a standalone in the future.
