hey open,

its easy: Select any car you want (recommended a convertable)- choose any track you want-dirve on that track in PHOTODRIVE-do with the car what ever you want (just drive around or, just drive til the first turn). then exit the driving, and watch the relplay. while watching it, press select and your in the photomode. put before you go into the photomode, ensure that you've selected the bumper view. then just focus and set the shutter speed up too 1/4000. save the pic as a FILM and go "home" into photolog and develop it, it will take a lil time and then you should have gotten it ;)

good luck

GUYS, I BET WITH YOU ALL THERE IS A COCKPIT VIEW DURING RACING, CAUSE IT JUST HAPPENED AGAIN THAT I GOT COCKOIT VIEW WHILE WATCHING A REPLAY. its just a matter of timing and pressing with the button...

can some one post step by step instructions on how to do this? this is really starting to 🤬 piss me off
Try these:

1. Get in a convertible car.
2. Drive a track in Photo Drive.
3. Drive around a bit.
4. Stop driving and watch the replay.
5. Press X to change the camera to 'onboard' the car.
6. The view you want is the first one it gives you. You can change the view by pressing R1, but you don't need to. I believe this is the same view you are provided with when actually driving the car, NOT the bumper view as mentioned by others. USE THE FIRST CAMERA ANGLE YOU GET.
7. Press Select to pause the replay and move into Photo Mode.
8. Hold R2 and press the UP arrow to change the Shutter Speed to 1/4000.
9. Press X to take the photo.
10. Press Start to Save the photo.
11. Set the Destination as your Memory Card.
12. Set the Method as Film.
13. Click OK to save the photo.
14. Exit Photo Mode and the track and return to your Garage.
15. Select Photo Lab.
16. Select your photo (a red circle should appear when you have it selected) and choose the icon in the top right (the topmost one of the three provided), 'Develop the selected film'.
17. Here you should see your cockpit if you've followed each of these steps.

From here you can push Start to save the photo to a USB stick for transfer to a PC as per normal if you want to.

Any more questions about this or any questions about any of these steps, just keep posting here and I/we will try to get to the bottom of it for you. :)

i think its just a bug, cause sometimes, when the loading takes too long, i am just playing around with the buttons, but suddenly the relplay start, and i was still pressing some buttons, and then it swapped to the inside of the car.

i am still trying to hit all the buttons, to find out, which one's to press:scared:

It will only work with convertiles though. They didn't have to make it for any of the other cars as you can see inside them, so i doubt PD were trying to make an interior view.

Exactely, if they planned to incude an in car camera they'd have created interiors for all the cars. As it is, the only did for the cars you can see the interiors of.

Some inside shots I took. :yuck: I forgot to turn up the brightness :guilty: .

cuz of imageshack issues
this should do:

I've just discovered that the cockpit view is built in if you're using the Daimler Motor Carriage. View the replay from the driver's view (bumper-cam) and when you hit the photo button, there's the dash and driver, without having to save as film and then go develop!

As for why the cockpit view is there, but not available, probably another one of those GT4-for-PS3 things that got dropped when the PS3 never showed, and they stripped the game for the PS2, like online play, open cars with animated drivers in a race, etc.

GT4 for PS3, what are you on about. GT4 was never for the PS3, it's always been a PS2 game, it was finished as the first PS3 dev kit's were released to first party developers. Online play was intended for the PS2 as well, and animated drivers in a race were always limited to two cars on the track at once races, never was shown or said to be anything else, and ect, what ect. Theres no PS3 development in GT4, the PS3 dev kits didn;t arrive until it was finished.

same car: shelby 427;different pic(the wheel is on a different side!)

Not the same car.
The AC 427 Cobra is British and therefore RHD.
The Shelby is the Americanised version, licenced from the AC original and therefore LHD.

Well, ALMOST the same:sly: , but the british one was the first one in the world...but Mr carol shelby cramed a 289 in it and it was all fine and dandy:)

What I am on about, at the risk of going off-topic for the thread, is that some folks feel that several elements of GT4 seem to have been intended for better hardware, then had to be de-tuned or removed altogether. This was discussed a bit in the thread "Do you think GT4 is incomplete?" https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=73594

Yes, it's completely speculative, no evidence for it to be demonstrated, no scientific method proof, but lots of things, like 20-car grids on the pavement, animated drivers you can't use in races, missing on-line mode, meaningless A-Spec points, seem to imply a stronger game than we have. The fact that the developer kits weren't out doesn't mean the game wasn't being designed; there's nothing wrong with modeling animations or doing preliminary work on the logic when you don't have actual hardware or specs on hand, especially if you're trying to stay ahead of the curve.

The speculation is that they wanted it to be a PS3 game, but the PS3 went longer and longer and longer, and PD just couldn't go 4 years without a release.

I'm of a similar opinion to you wfooshee.

I haven't read a lot about GT5 and what's missing from GT4 etc., but from what I have read I've come to the conclusion that the game we call GT4 is really GT5 for the PS3, stripped down (as you say) to run on the PS2.

Well I disagree with the lot, but for the sake of this thread I'll reply in the other one if I want to carry on.
