Anyone agrees that the animation for the paddle shifting is completely wrong?

I have only check the Ferraris, but when you shift, you see the driver taking his hand off the steering wheels for what seems to be a good 2 seconds. On the straights or while cornering..It's wrong. You dont need to take the hands from the steering wheel otherwise that would defeat the purpose of paddle shifting!

I cant believe Sony got this wrong. Forza got it right. :grumpy:

You also see drivers removing their right hand from the wheel to shift on cars that the wheel is on the right side....

And IIRC, in some cars (F430), it changes gears with a regular manual gear lever but you can clearly see the paddles behind the wheel.

I'm not sure about the Ferrari, but a lot of cars let you shift with either the stick or paddles.

I think the Ferraris also have the paddles mounted on the steering column, so you might have to move your hand off the wheel a bit to reach them. I don't think I've driven a Ferrari in cockpit view to see how weird it is though. On the cars I have seen the animation in it hasn't looked too bad.

Yes, but the wierdest of all, is after putting that Drivetrain tune that allows for quicker gear changes, the animation doesn't change, even though the gear goes almost immediatly from one to the next or to the previous. o_O

I agree, its annoyed me for a while now. Quite possibly the worse gear change animation ever. Why they didn't do what a lot of other games do (Dirt2 comes to mind) is have the animation sequence when we push the button instead of trying to guess when we are going to change gear. It looks stupid when lapping sections of the ring and the driver has only one hand on the wheel.

Then there is that funny vid of a Lambo at LeMans on the red line in 6th gear and the hand has moved wanting to change into 7th ha-ha.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmoTrOS3Yco about 2:20 into it :)

Lets hope for a patch :)

I was going to make a thread about this but I forgot. Its so stupid how the drivers hand comes off the wheel for a good few seconds, then seems like forever to come back to the original position. Its ment to be racing not an 89 year old man on a sunday drive.

+1 Its so annoying like he is trying to reach a button behind the wheel or something lol. When driving the 07 Scuda its bugs me everytime because he almost has 2 hands off the wheel during fast up and down shifts.
