Cockpit view weird colors

When I use the cockpit view on bright weather settings, all colors become much too saturated and too bright. It just looks weird. The sky becomes a cyan sort of blue. When I go into bumper cam everything looks great again.

Anyone else having this problem?

Yes, I've always found the colors - particularly the sky - unusually bright, and that's because I always use cockpit view. Any other camera and everything looks fine.
A minor tint from the windshield is fine, but in GT5 it unfortunately distorts the colors too much.

Every time you're completely covered by a shadow, the colors outside of it look like you're driving in a tunnel. There could possibly be a fix in the future if this hasn't changed.

The problem you're having might be similar or is the same, I'm not sure. It's definitely similar.

What I'm talking about is noticeable at the Madrid track inbetween the buildings and in the shadows of the trees.

It's because GT5 uses an effect similar to the auto brightness on cameras, when the picture is darker it will compansate and make the entire picture brighter. When you're in cockpit view, the surroundings gets darker, and so the image is adjusted to be brighter. This is not a bug, but rather a deliberate effect.

Correctomondo! It's difficult to get round but as I posted above, a bit of tweaking makes it less harsh.

Contrast down, colour down, brightness up. (On your TV).

While my new plasma 3D TV hasn't been hardware calibrated, I spent weeks fine tuning the settings (based on Movie/Warm 2 for the most natural colors) to my liking, and they provide very satisfying results in most video and game content.
GT5 however does look unusually garish in cockpit view (and arguably even slightly so in other views) - which it also did on my old LCD TV. I'll try the in-game EV setting.

While in cockpit view look backwards. Usually the screen will lighten and you can see the change.
