Just brought a Audi 5.2.:)

But from the cockpit view the amount of camera movment is too jumpy. I cant even see the cars in front on some coners due to blurred vision.

It seems the quicker the car the more prononced it becomes. I could deal with it in a clio it seemed more realistic, but Kaz has gone overboard with the head movement.

If this is How it is in Cockpit view in supercars it riuns the experience for me.👎

Any one agree/disagree?
 
When I'm using cockpit view I hardly notice any head shake.. it's that realistic that I'm that into it I'm probably shaking my head in exactly the same way! :lol:
 
I think it's over accentuated. Some would be good, this is just overboard.
 
I think the camera shake is fine. There are sometimes where it feels it could be toned down a bit but I still like it, helps add a sense of speed to the game for me, even if it is a little unrealistic.
 
It's pretty good, in my opinion. I've never driven at speeds of 190mph, but considering how most cars I've driven so far felt upon passing 100mph with their soft, comfort oriented suspension, I can only imagine that going at 200mph in a car with a very stiff and sporty suspension is going to be one hell of a shaky ride.

I disagree. I have reached speeds of over 130 MPH in an 2006 Pontiac GTO and over 160 MPH in 2008 Chevy Corvette, and it's not that smooth.

Keeping that in mind, the aforementioned vehicles have comfort in mind, not racing.

Yup, drive a spec miata with stiff suspension and you won't have to be going to fast to realize how much shake there is.
 
I've raced a road car at track days. The top speeds were around 125 mph (baby stuff, really), and I can tell you that the GT5 shake is spot-on!

If anything they've toned it down... sometimes you think your teeth are going to punch through your lower jaw and that you've liquidised your eyes...

I agree. racing for real is very violent against the body. cars with racing suspension shake a ton so the game has this pretty close. the one aspect were they could take this even further is to have a helmet view and model in the movement of your head under the harsh cornering and braking g-forces!! I wear a neck brace which helps support my helmet because before I started doing this my neck was sore and I was exhausted after a day at the track from controlling the movement of the helmet.
 
The shake is spot on, I race a Cobalt SS and a highly modified Transam. I've had the Transam over 170, bumps that you don't even notice at freeways speed suddenly cause your car to shake a lot.

Same with the Cobalt, lower speeds, but stiffer suspension, You get into moguls and it gets hard to see straight.

The stiffer the suspension, the worse it gets, watch GT racing from the in car, you will see it.
 
I love it, really adds to the being in the car sensation, I especially love it on the Norschleife.
 
If my experience counts, then all i have to say is that PD did a great job with the headshaking.

Going down dottinger hohe at the nordschleife, doing nearly 300 km/h, you have such a blurred vision and your whole body is shaking, cause the tracks are very bumpy. (and in race cars, with the stiff suspension, you can feel every millimeter of elevation change)

The screen (head) shaking is way too much. I have never experienced head shaking like that. Not in the car nor motorcycle.

Well I've been to 178 on a Motorcycle and I can say for certain, vision is not all that stable at that speed.
 
I think adjustable camera angle is one of the best features in GT5 alone with Photomode!!! I personally use max zoom cockpit view, yes sometimes its hard to see clearly especially when push the car to the limits in coners but for me it contributes to the experience.
 
Under [I think] The psEye settings there is something to make this better, or worse, depending on how much you hate need for seed shift. The default for this is dead centre and it can be made into silky smooth cockpit viewing or a shaky roller coaster... I dont know WHY its under PEeye, but it is. And it DOES NOT need one connected to deal with the problem.

I wish people would check out a games ENTIRE options menu before deciding something is wrong witht he game

Yes, this is true. But even in those zoom views, its not THAT bad to even complain about. This is the second thread I've seen people complaining about the cockpit view and I'm kind of shocked.
 
It is way too much (gotta check out Tweetman's suggestion...why would I have looked at PsEye settings? :)).

The problem is that in real life, your head and body are shaking with the car; there are still some vision issues, but it's not nearly as pronounced as in the game when the view is shaking but your body and head aren't.
 
Disagree, the shaking is good if a liitle less than reality, hit up a local circuit and see what reality is like at 200.

This is why i like iRacing. The car shakes there while the camera stays centered on the road.

Exactly! The last time I hit 130 I was more concerned with spotting speed traps than dealing with headshake or blurred vision. :) 100 or so mph is nothing, 125 is the beginning of sensation and 150 starts to feel really quick. But it's the speed at which a treeline or road markings fly by that makez you realize, not your head shaking.

On a motorcycle, it depends on the aerodynamic capacities of helmet and bike, and the stiffness of the suspension combined with the seating position. A sporty naked bike, leaned forward and a $200 helmet + 100 mph or more: now THAT's feeling alive for ya!
 
I think, it is a well done feature. But it is way overtuned at top speeds.

I mean, how the hell should be Jeff Gordon able to race a NASCAR at 200mph, when his headshaking could cause a neck break?

Like it is in GT5, even HANS wouldn´t help. At most speeds it feels ok, but from 180mph it is way too hard.

If you ever driven a car, you would know, that your head and neck muscles can balance the car body movement in most situations.

The only situation, when I felt head shaking this way was, when I had ride my sports bike at 156mph on the german highway with my ******, non-aerodynamic helmet. And I can tell you, that feels so bad, you wouldn´t be able to hold it for 10 mins.
 
I like it,it adds more realism to the cockpit view but I think that PD should make it optional for those players that don't like it!

I agree with the option to turn it off, but turning it off would make the game more realistic. Artifically shaking the camera to try and simulate head movement is unrealistic because IRL your brain and body will all compensate for the movement of the car, which keeps a rock solid picture coming into your vision.
While it does help some people get feedback on how bumpy the road in the game is, it should be able to be turned off.
