Has anyone that doesn't mind the headshaking played the Nascar events with cockpit view?? It's ridiculous and gives me a headache.

Just brought a Audi 5.2.:)

But from the cockpit view the amount of camera movement is too jumpy.
Any one agree/disagree?

Disagree... and I'm not just saying it and then really not using the cockpit view.

I love it... takes some getting use to for sure, but the Corvette at Indy is AWESOME inside!

This is why I HATE STANDARD CARS!

If you guys watch the "racing at the 24 hours of nurburgring" on GT TV you will see Kazunori Yamauchi mention that he wanted a way to bring the g forces he felt while participating in the 24 hour race into GT5. So I guess the screen shaking is a way of giving us that feeling.

Disagree. It's perfect the way it is.

Disagree w/you. I've raced real cars and your EYES/HEAD etc can compensate for bumpy situations... A CAMERA however, cannot..and the view seems more like it's from a bullet cam than the drivers eyes.

BINGO!

If Kaz wanted us to have a way to "feel the gforces" then he should have made it compatible with motion seats. . .
Then the people who spend $15,000 would be able to have that experience.
I think that artificially modifying the camera to "simulate" gforces lowers the realism of the game.

I agree with the option to turn it off, but turning it off would make the game more realistic. Artifically shaking the camera to try and simulate head movement is unrealistic because IRL your brain and body will all compensate for the movement of the car, which keeps a rock solid picture coming into your vision.
While it does help some people get feedback on how bumpy the road in the game is, it should be able to be turned off.

I think people are missing the point of the shaking. I dont think it was necessary meant to simulate how your eyes see the road, but simulate how it feels to drive in a road that is bumpy, something that you wouldnt be able to tell as much if the camera didnt shake.

Speed in a straight line is nothing if your car is properly aligned.

GT doesn't have enough shaking and road surface bumpiness going into corners. On real circuits the braking zones get bumpy, literally waves running across from all the force of cars braking over and over again. Even new circuits like New Jersey Motorsport Park have noticeable bumps in the hardest braking zones.

The camera bouncing is a decent job to try to capture that, but still not perfect.

But the point is that people wont spend 15000 dollars on it.

"I think that artificially modifying the camera to "simulate" gforces lowers the realism of the game."

No it doesnt. Without it you wouldnt have the g force feel, which would be more of a minus to the realism of the game.

You can turn it off just go to the hood cam :P, no shake, no rain on your windshield, better view of the track in general. I consider it a bit of cheat but i used it for the AMG rain races and instantly got better times.

But the shake itself is fine, lets not forget you are also wearing a few pounds of crash helmet on your head to boot.

Personally I think it adds an something to the mix I like. It helps show me that violent forces are going on around me.

I've often heard racing drivers (F1, Indy, Touring Cars) say that at times the vibrations in the car make it difficult to focus your eyes. David Coulthard (retired F1 Driver) specifically said in an F1 car the first Monza chicane was almost impossible to focus on due to the bumps and you needed to watch for a breaking marker to flash past, and that it was only when your speed decreased, you could see the corner properly.

Saying all that, it is a simulation game after all so it will try and simulate things one way or another, rightly or wrongly so the option to turn if off should be there for those that don't want such a feature.
