F********** XBOX! :)
Has anyone noticed this? In prologue you were able to see more of the inside of the car, but also at your left and right. IN GT5, even if you select the widest cockpit view you can see your steering wheel and that's pretty much it really.

It's like a midget driving the car with his face 15 CM away from the steering wheel  The camera position should be further back, so you can actually see like a human would in real life.

I guess they want to force you to use the look-left-and-right-buttons but as it is now it's simply too much tunnel vision if you ask me. Especially when drifting, or entering hairpins in a normal race it's impossible to keep eye on the track.

i agree, a little wider field of view would be good, the options to narrow it are ridiculous,

the reason it sucks so much is the fact theres a giant HUD still in the way of all the cockpit stuff.

im in cockpit view, i dont want all the useless HUD data still uP!

atleast have an option to remove it all so i can enjoy racing in my 1:1 detailed interiors!

Funny thing as i first played without uppdating the game I saw much more of the cockpit.... Now when I have aplied the uppdates I have the same"problem". Someone know If I can change how much I can see of it?

The camera is positioned in the eyepoint of the driver, ie in the correct spot. If you got it your way, even the narrowest setting would be too wide.

have yo noticed how tracks seem pretty natural, especially sense of scale and elevation? Direct consequence of a more correct field of view, and a big step in the right direction. 👍

What you are experiencing is your brain being conditioned to a completely wrong perspective, skewing your sense of speed and scale.

When in cockpit view you cant even use the rear view mirror its pathetic.

PD should have played forza for a decent cockpit view, thats the only view i used on Forza.

Infact GT5P even had a better cockpit view, even being able to change your postition in the cockpit just makes it worse.

There should be one in the interior. If not, then use look back 💡

There are a lot of things PD should have done. BUT, if they wanted a decent cockpit view, then iRacing would be the place to look (in my opinion).

I didn't really use cockpit view in GT5P, but giving people options to adjust position in the cockpit only makes it better.

Once the race start, you can select pause and then the 3rd menu from the left, will let you choose 3 position for interior camera.

Widening the FOV gives you better sense of speed and better all-around view, so you don't even need left-right view buttons.

HUD should be reduced to speed, rpm bar and gear, or completely off. Lap and place should be shown while crossing the finish line. And cockpit itself should be detailed enough to read numbers on dials and displays without a problem. And ffs, fix those tetris shadows crawling all over my dash and A pillar!

Buy a Bigger TV XD

I play on a LED 102 cm FULL HD, HDMI v1.4 , and got no problems with HUD/COckpit....

I'm wondering why no reviewer noted the quality of GT5 car's interiors. Maybe they were spoiled by Prologue, but as far as I'm concerned, the way PD included interiors have no analogy and it set standard for future games. It's by far the best interior view implementation I have ever seen, whether it's position, FoV, dynamic shadows (yeah, right, they could have higher resolution, but at least they tried it), G-forces simulation, animations or any other aspect of it. No major complaints here from my side.

If you want a concern like this to get noticed, try phrasing it in a way that doesn't make you sound like a whining child.

Request a new option to add to the "wide, zoom" list in the pause menu. "Wider, Widest" would be cool. Or maybe just lose the layman's terms and give us a FOV degree slider.

I'm sorry but you're wrong. Every time I have ever been in a car in real life I have been able to see the drivers side, side view mirror. Not the case in gt5.

The key word you used was real life its a game man its not going to be perfect, but I think it still is a great view. I play on a 52 though

That's because FOV =/= size of display

GT5 maintains the correct field of view, the only problem is that you would need more displays to accurately display your peripheral vision.

Because you would need these extra displays, or a giant curved one, games decide to scrunch that peripheral vision into the flat display by way of the wide FOV. It's an unnatural fix, but many people like it. It skews distances and gives a false sense of speed.

^^

I was thinking the same thing. I have a 46inch, and it looks a little funny. Its very beautiful and clear, BUT I can bearly see the speedomoter

I second this. With these 3 options more people can enjoy interior view driver. I am a roof cam driver but I do cockpit here and there. If I can get head tracking to actually work, I may visit cockpit more often.

This is so wrong, it's not even funny and this is not even a legitimate complaint ESPECIALLY since they offered not ONE but THREE views from the inside cockpit.

What more do you want? I find that the cockpit view is the BEST cockpit view ever, even over NFS SHIFT. :)

I think PD's original intention was to have head-tracking available in all parts of the game, not just Arcade Mode, which would have eliminated the tunnel vision of which some of you are commenting.

There's quite a few things Forza got over GT5 but cockpit ain't one of them. I feel I can place my car EXACTLY where I want in GT5. I don't know what it is but it feels 95% natural. Always going to be that 5% to play with but 95 is the closest any game has come for me. I LOVE the cockpit view in this game, just wish there were more of them.

I would have liked to have seen GT5 implement something similar to GT Legends' solution for cockpit viewing. Letting the user set the degree the camera would pan left and right when executing a turn. This allowed me to better spot the corner exit and eliminated the narrow field of vision without having to resort to a head-tracking solution.

Tambien.

In fact, I try not to buy a Standard car unless absolutely necessary for that simple reason.

To me it seems like the interior modeling was a waste. I mean how much of the interior can you actually see? Even in photomode you can't really see it. I wish there was an option in dealership to do a 360 view of the interior of each car.

I don't understand why they would go to such great lengths modeling each interior when you can barely see it.

I don't know if I would really call the interior modeling a waste, it was a big draw for me and still is after a few days of owning the game.

Didn't Yamauchi state that they were looking into an option to remove the HUD in one of the upcoming updates?

What I mean is that the extent to which they modeled the interiors seems a bit excessive. They modeled them down to the finest detail when these details never even show up on the screen even once. Seems a little stupid to me.
