I drove all licenses to gold but those 'Coffee Breaks'.

Coffee Breaks doesn't effect on percentage of completing game, unlike in GT4 "Prologue" but that was just a demo.

Since I have have only driven two of them with bronze and silver medals I'm curious to know if few of you 'extremes' has passed them as gold.
Do they grant any bonus car when all times are beaten? Or money reward?
Or is there absolutely nothing for hours of rocking at same bloody event?

Just curious...

Yes, people have golded all of them.

No you don't get any reward.

Yes they are just a waste of time.

I golded the first four of them but the last one simply was too much for my nerves. It resembled Wolfenstein 3D too much. Maybe I'll gold it too some day...

Once you learn the technique for the maze, this is the singularly most easy coffee break to gold. Gold time is 1'33. My time 1'22.616. Enough said! :sly:
The spiral ones were hardest, the TVR is OK once you learn to use the oversteer to your advantage. The understeering Peugeot though.... wow, that took way toooooooooooooooooooo many attempts to get gold on!
The coffee breaks are pointless, but fun-ish. Golding them allows you the extra degree of smugness. [Damnit... where's that smug smily?!!!]

I haven´t even tried them, although I´m finished with the rest of the game (all golds, all gold licenses, all cars in garage). Are they worthwhile?

Well, you have to gold them don't you ?.. so that everything is perfect. 4/5 are relatively easy but one of them is a pain (IA ?).

Coffee Breaks should have some type of reward.

I agree that some will say that "the experience and tecniques acquired" are your reward.

But a secret BLACK car wouldn't hurt anyone.

I spent about 5mins getting gold on the one where you just drive a Copen thru a field of cones. Once you see the route - its laughably easy. As for the rest... not even gonna try - that Nissan 350Z is a pain!!:grumpy:

I have a gold on the one with all of the cones that you have to weave through with the Daihatsu Copen. The rest I have bronze/silver on.

I found the spiral ones easy. Just a matter of getting the right pace to get the tight center.

Once I was able to get around hitting all the cones I had gold! 👍

I've tryed the 4/5 coffee breaks but only golded the first one. i'm not going to bother with the others because of the fact they yeild nothing :dunce: ( go figure...hint hint PD / Sony )

Since getting gold on the first and bronze on the others, meh, i'm not caring for them anymore, just M34  :dunce:, F1 Grand Prix races:dunce:, Le Sarthe I 24hr, and Le Sarthe II 24hr :scared: :nervous: ( and yes in that order of course )

Lies! I didn't realize that they didn't affect you receiving the car as I got all Silvers for Super except for the Coffee Break and I was still awarded the Solstice :D
Though the first time I tried the coffee break in Super I had 10 seconds to get Gold and was only 3 cones off but I had no idea where they were and the following 5 attempts after that I wasn't even close, boy do I wish I remembered the path I took my first attempt.
I actually didn't find the spiral ones that bad though there were more than 100 cones there because I missed a few and still managed to get 100/100!

For S-coffee, draw a map. There's probably several on the Internet somewhere.

Or given a large enough lego base and enough little two-block bricks, you could make the maze out of lego. I really want to do that sometime, for some reason.

Plot a route. I eventually picked a route which went twice through the diagonal central corridor, and I would deliberately leave two cones the first time to be picked off the second time through (so I could drive faster each time).

You'd think I'd have golded by more than the tiny amount I did, though. But I'm a klutz when it comes to driving, and I'm sure that car doesn't steer realistically at low speed. You can't swing your nose into the center of the square the way you should be able to without hitting a wall.

The following direct link actually seems to work. Better not tempt fate by hot-linking it. But it's more fun to draw your own map, actually.

Bah. Link does not work.

The link from the following seems to, strangely enough.

And, finally, here's where you seem to be supposed to access it from...

Oh. Okay that was my second result for Google of "coffee break map gran turismo", not the first.

Don't you just love that percolating coffee sound when you finish? (Though I did sort of miss it when they didn't play the usual Princess Leia Wedding March when I got gold)
