not really, i guess that "yellow" song runied it for me. the radios flogged it to death and it became so annoying that id turn the radio off.

Which is a shame, because that song's not representative of the album (although it is a great song - thanks to the Anti-Cancer council using it for the Daffodil Day ad I find it emotionally very hard to listen to).

What radio station do you listen to, Dudebusta?

Anyone else really looking forward this release (26/8 here)?

I am looking forward to it! Their last album Parachutes was good I liked it, not depressing at all .

Anyway yeah new album should be good.

Each to their own I guess ;)

I find most of Coldplay's music quite depressing. I don't think I'll be buying any of their albums.

Someone I was talking to at work said that - I personally found Parachutes quite warm and uplifting. Oh well...

Love them; someone told me Coldplay broke up? Any truth to this?

There is some talk that they may break up after touring in support of this album. :(

Ahh, so the dudebusta's a fellow triple j listener - Sydney radio is a disgrace, so there's not really much choice if you want new alternative/indie type music, and prefer your music without 30 minutes of ads an hour.

It'd really be tough if they broke up; they've never totally been my cup of tea but 'Parachutes' is an incredible album, can't wait to get the new one (but there are others than have precedent).

Yeah, Dudebusta made a thread about his radio station ... somewhere ....

yeah i made a thread in this forum, i used to listen to B105, the local brizzy radio station but they killed so many good songs with repetition so i only listen to the J.

We have nova on the radio at work - record is four repeats in one working day (can't remember the song - I think I have some defense mechanism that blots it out now).

That is very true. Actually it is one of my least favorite songs on the album (probably due to the radio "flogging it to death").

Shame, that. My favourite track on that album, jeez, can't remember the name. Has a great guitar in it, and the line 'always be waiting for you' as part of the chorus - love that track (gotta do the guitar actions if I'm by myself when I hear it).

Thats ' Shiver' great song!

High Speed is my favourite from the album :)

I'm looking forward to it. I love the single they've got out at the moment. I thought Parachutes was an excellent album, although you have to be in the right mood before you start listening to it to 'get' its uplifting depression.

Heard some songs off the new album on the BBC's coverage of Glastonbury. Sounding good. Sounding very good indeed.

Okay - really liking this. Politik is brilliant - the surprise for me is the single 'In My Place' - played through the newly upgraded amp, I'm amazed at how musically complex the track is, particularly the base line - friggin' radio mix, you just don't get half the song on the radio!!!

The more I am listening to this the more I like! :)
Songs that stand out to me so far are ...

Politik... Brilliant! love it! :D
Green Eyes
God Put A Smile Upon Your Face
In My Place
Warning Sign
A Rush Of Blood To The Head

The others are good too but these get played the most or should I say the LOUDEST :D

I like 'em. Gonna see them, err, serve them food on the 17th at a concert.

Booyeah, free concerts rule. The caterer I work for caters to a bunch of shows at the Fleet Boston Pavilion [In Boston no less!]

I rule. I think.

Just listened to this for the first time. And I really really like it. My favourites are currently Clocks, The Scientist, and Amsterdam.

Have minidisc-ed it, so I can listen to it on the plane!

Well I aint skipping any tracks on this album anymore! I like em all! :smirk: Funny how it takes me a few listens before I eventually play the whole album and enjoy it all! :thatsodd:

Anyway... Coldplay rules! :sing:

I have the same thing. They get better everytime you hear them.
The only song i don't like is Politik.
The rest is awesome!

Yeah? That's my favourite - very powerful opening.

I didn't like Politik at first :p

Now I do though, and like you say, powerful opening, also powerful ending too :)

A few more listens and MIH will get to love it I'm sure :D

I hope so;)

But that is just the part i don't like, the powerful opening.

Has anyone else noticed that Coldplay is really horribly crappy in live performances? I mean, they really really really suck live. But I honestly do love their studio music. I need to get a copy of the new album. I about wore a hole in the old one from playing it so much (:
