Anyone knows if it is compatible with the Logitech wheel ?? 'Cos if it isn't then I won't bother getting it ...

Call, me wierd - but racing with a momo wheel, has really spoiled my enjoyment of just using the controller :P

Yep, 100% support, works great with my Driving Force without any of the stupid problems which GT3 has with the wheel, so when GT4 comes out my Driving Force should work fine without the problems that GT3 suffers (i.e. gear shifting, 70% braking etc). If you meant the Driving Force Pro, I'd imagine it will work but I can't say until the wheel is released.

i got it on Friday for PS2 - i think it is truly brilliant - the sense of speed is incredible - and the actual polygonal/elevational detail on the roads/tracks is amazing - theyre not just flat tapes - they vary longitudinally and horizontally - its great.

Ive completed the first 4WD championship - I used the Focus WRC cos I like hatchbacks - (i would have chose 206WRC but it was locked).

Im tryin to get into the Gruoup B races which shud be unlocked now, I think i can drice the Audi Quattro now, but of course what I really want is the Lancia Rally/037 :P, and then the 205T16. :)

I also just realised that the Integrale is in there as a bonus car - so Im well chuffed.

Im a bit annoyed thou - cos for some bizarre reason I thought the Stratos wud be in it :s

Anywayz, the graphics r brilliant, the damage is very detailed and the physics feel pretty good to me the sound is very good too - althou i do wish it had those nice dump-valve sounds u get in GT3. The interface/menu is also beautiful - extremely minimalist and stylish...

overall i wud give it 9 out of 10

:)

So whats wrong with it, from my brief play about on the demo (about 3 hours or so), the replays are very disapointing

yeh i forgot about that - the replays do really suck - as far as i could see theres no way of editing cameras etc....

Heh, my thoughts exactly. :) Fear not, CMR4 does work very nicely with the MOMO Force. There's just one small quirk, though - for some reason it's necessary to make the final menu selection using the wheel in order to have the wheel activated for the actual driving. Now, looking at the way the six buttons and the shift paddles are organized, you might have some kind of an idea how awkward it's do work the menus with the wheel. :)

The way CMR4 uses the force feedback is a bit weird, though. The wheel feels a bit too soft on gravel and I tend to overcompensate drifts a bit too easily since there's virtually no resistance on it. Dunno, maybe it's just that I've gotten too used to the way GT3 feels. ;)

Stage 3 of the GB rally is amazing, its by far and away the closest stage I have found in a game to b-roads in the UK.

I swear I have roads near my house that are just like it.

So, if you want to know what road driving in the UK is like at its best, slap on CM4 and head to Rally GB stage 3.

Let me know what you think.

Oh and yes the replays still suck (a bit better that the demo - but not much).

Scaff, mabye this have been discussed in this thread..

I wonder if the annoying detail from cmr3 is removed, that when you race a WC season and is in the points lead you can't see other drivers times until you finished the stage and is unable to reload?

yeh when i said in an earlier post i had done my first championship i was wrong ehehe - i had just done the first 2 countries lol

last night however, I did get 1st place in 4WD Championship (Normal) and I have to say - I couldnt believe the realism of the GB stages - they were exactly like roads I remember from Wales and obviously felt fairly similar to Irish roads - it was brilliant - even the 'speed limit ends' signs. And going through farm gates. It felt so real...

This was also the rally I did worst in - probably cos at the later stages in which it was raining very hard and it was very dark - I cudnt see a bloody thing!!!!

I really love the game thou i have to say - the graphics in the snow sections (the trains and bridges etc.), also the way that in Spain you really do feel like your climbing up a mountain and you can see the drop - its just brilliant. The jumps in Australia are great too. Haha i was cr4p at the parts test stuff thou - the only one i got was the gravel tyres!!!! :s

So now ive got the Escort, the Integrale and the 205T16 :)

Im gonna have to do 2WD advanced next so i can get the Lancia 037 :)

Is japan the only stages that you dont do in the 4WD championship?

(In other words, have I seen all the stages apart from Japan now?)

:s

Its still in there, if you lead a championship you are the first car on the stage you set the first time, so split times are of no use.

Have to say I actual like this feature, WRC drivers have to face this and I like the challenge of being first on the road and driving your guts out to ensure you set a good time.

I've just started playing it again after putting it down for a while (PES3 came out :D ) and I still love that Finland stage with the narrow trees and the turns getting narrower and narrower.... :D

I have a question though, since you can't change the springs/anti roll etc different for front and back, is there much difference in the way the car handles when you change the settings? I can't feel much difference and I'm trying to get the Fiat to turn in a bit better (I already altered the brake bias).

Yea, Japan is the only rally missed in the 4wd normal, but you do get it in 4wd advanced and 2wd normal.

Prize car for the 2wd normal championship is a 2CV Safari, sssoooooo slllllllllllooooooooooowwwwwwwwww, but very funny to drive.

I've not driven the Fiat in a championship yet, I went for the Puma in 2wd.

I personally can feel a difference when changing the settings, but its not dramatic. It also seems to be quite dependant on the stages and the car, tyre choice can make a very big difference; tried a totaly stupid tyre choice just to see what would happen and managed to drive into every in Finland!

BTW - The stage in Finland you mentioned is very cool, when it gets realy tight one slip is all it needs to end it all. One of the Japanese stages is quite similar.

hehe yeah just went on the Japanese stages and UK stages for the first time :D

I tried having an all stiff car and you can definetly feel the car jittering even on straights and feel it thru the controller. Just gone to 4wd champ and I'm still trying to find a setting to stop the car over-sliding on exits, although its taking time to get used to finding a good line on corners, when I brake after a turn I usualy end up sideways cos I don't exit straight :banghead:

I went for the Saxo cos I used to drive a Pug 106GTi (kinda the same car) :P

im doing 2WD advanced cos my main objective in buying Colin McRae 4 is to drive the Lancia 037 :)

I got 1st place in my first rally which was Australia :). Im actually finding it more fun doing the stages in the little 106 (well thats wot i pretend it is eheh) - tbh im annoyed - they shud have the Super 1600 class 106 (Maxi 106 or wotever they call it). maybe its there as a bonus car - but i doubt it :(.

The car I would have most liked to see in CM4 is the Renault 5 Turbo, god I love them.

Still fingers crossed it will be in GT4

It is going to be in GT4, as of press time. ;)

Does anyone know which makes the car slide more under throttle: stiff or soft springs/anti-roll? Im trying to find out as it slides all over in the Sweden stages (4WD championship btw)
