JR98 GAMING
So, CodeMasters could be working on a new Dirt game as they have teased an image of it, and showed evidence they were working on more than one rally game, as they said that they aren't working on one rally game. The last proper rally game they released was Dirt 3, back in 2011. What about your thoughts on this? I have been playing Dirt 2 a lot recently, although DIRT 3 was my favourite. Codemasters seem to have been focused on track based games, namely GRID and F1, for the past few years and heres hoping they can make a great rally game. Maybe try getting some official licences like Pikes Peak, WRC, Super 2000, Rally X, and maybe throw in some of the classics from Dirt and Dirt 3. Some official liveries would be good, like a Mitsubishi RalliArt Evo 9, Subaru WRT Impreza, Ford Racing Focus, and Toyota Team Europe Celica. What would you like to see in Dirt 4?

Doesn't look current generation, could be mobile?

Hope it is ps4 tho, and wrc based not xgames
That's what I didn't like about Dirt 2 and 3, too X Games focused, I want it to be based on WRC, SUPER 2000, GROUP B, HillClimb etc. I only play DIRT 2 because it looks great and has a nice variety of cars, with my favourite car/track combo being Ken Block's Impreza on the longest Malaysia track, it gets so muddy!

Nope

The screenshot came from a DeviantArt account where the uploader said they'd never used the 405 T16 before. Maybe they should have checked DiRT 3's Trailblazer vehicle list before jumping to conclusions.

Also if that was coming to PS4 I would be shocked look at the trees in the background they look awful.

I haven't played DiRT3 in well over two and a half years but I still recognize the stages. That's one of the Trailblazer stages in Norway.

As far as I know Milestone have the WRC license still, having got it for three years initially then getting it extended to five.

Okay, they apparently are not producing a WRC 5 this year (inasfar as we know,) but all it would take is for them to be actively persuing the title this year to exclude any other developer from applying.

Not the first thread on this, only the second I know of though, and there's conversation here.

OT: CM could be working on a lot of crap. The way GRID went, I wouldn't doubt Showdown 2 exist. If CM wanted us to know something, we'd not only know it, they wouldn't use the old 405, and Ken Block would be the one to spill the beans....unless....

Can we get this moved?

Alright, haven't played Dirt 3 in ages and forgot the 405 T16 was in it

When GT3 came around, we thought the tree models were good. They weren't. GT5 comes around, we thought the tree models looked good. They didn't. Trees have barely looked good in racing games I've played. I doubt DiRT4 trees would look any good.

Trees will never look good in games until we get 3 dimensional leaves. It may be a few years til we get trees that look realistic

Yeah It is pretty hard to make trees look good but when you compare the trees in that picture to a next gen title like Driveclub you can definitely tell the difference.

Yeah, I was about to point out that DC has some quite tasty foliage - still not perfect but a lot better than that pic in the OP. CM do try and make good environmnets, so I'd expect D4 to be a lot better than that.
