Collecting all cars...UCD or premium first?

Just like many, I'm after collecting as many cars as I can. Are you guys going after all cars, standard or premium, or are you buying up all the premiums first?

I buy whatever's in the UCD and OCD whenever I have funds available but I find myself never really using all 20 skylines and 10 rx7s taht I have. For some reason, the only non-race cars I use are all premiums. I've started buying all the premium cars I can afford as I've beat all but a couple of the endurance races and won't win many cars.
 
I concentrated on buying the premium models first but while doing that, I still checked the UCD for cars that were of interest to me. You never know how often certain cars will show up in the UCD so keep an eye on it. I'm not really going after ALL of the cars though, just certain models that I feel are collectible.
 
I got all the Premium cars except for the 20mil Ford GT (I just bought the Ferrari 330 P4, and I won the Jaguar on a event, so one day I'll buy the Ford GT40).

Now I'm buying all the standards I can get. So far I'm with 500 cars, trying to not have 10 of the same, but for sure I have more than 3 Miatas, 3 RX7s, 3 GTOs...

All the standards first.
The Premium are always there, they are not going any where.
This is the way i did it.

Standards first since they are random and after that the expensive premium ones. Thank god for seasonal events, would have been impossible without them.
 
You can pretty much forget collecting every car as of 1.07...
 
1.07 has little impact on collecting all cars. It just makes the expensive cars that much harder to acquire.

Back to the question: I started with a mix of premium and used, mainly to do all the races. Now I grind, buy what I can in the UCD/OCD, then if I feel like splurging on a premium I don't have, I do so. I then grind some more and repeat the process. The UCD is first priority, OCD second, premiums third.

The premiums will always be there no matter what day so why would you concentrate on those?

You can trade 1 car per day per machine. Let's say you have one machine, you trade 1 for 1 and you already own 500 cars. It is still going to take you 500 days if you find a new car and a partner EVERY DAY, which is not likely to happen.

So are you going to spend 1 3/4 years on collecting cars? If you're starting from scratch, it will take about 3 years...

I'm buying cars from the UCD and OCD first, as they cycle. The premiums in the dealership will always be there.

Um... I think you are forgetting the main purpose of the game. You race. You win credits. You buy cars. I've got over 850 cars, and have made a total of maybe 10 trades... 1 account... no duping. I didn't get to 850 by just trading :D lol

ucd first. If they upgrade more to premiums I hope I do not have to make a multiple purchase

Do you really need to hijack every single thread, in addition to making 492 of your own threads, all to make the same point over and over again?

I don't really like the limits brought in by 1.07 either, but I'm getting by without turning GTP into a circus. Yes, that what I said. GTP is (temporarily, I hope) turning into a circus. You and a few others are a major contributing factor, so grow up.

This. I'm after getting as many as the standard soon to be untradeable cars ASAP, so there's less grinding to do.

The premiums will always be there so you can save up for whichever one you want in your own time. The OCD and UCD are random and unpredictable (yet) so get these first. ;)
 
UCD will take the longest to collect, if you're going after them all. I can now see a little of the "light at the end of the tunnel". :sly:

I am just collecting all premiums, I know I will never have the standards and 99% of them I wouldn't drive anyway.

I already have the F1's, GT IV, Ferrari 330 p4 and Jaguar XJ13, and Peugot race cars so I look like being able to achieve it!
 
I'm concentrating my efforts on the UCD at the minute - for that obvious reason that the Premiums will always be there... and I seem to be purchasing an odd mixture of rally cars, touring cars and normal road-going European cars... hmmm :odd:
 
I did all of the UCD first.
I figured the premiums are always going to be there, some of the UCD cars only show up once in a blue moon.
I started buying premiums once the UCD started being full of cars I already had and if I had excess money. I always kept 5M cr. in case of a surprise in the UCD.
It took me 2 months to get the first 1,000 cars and it took me another full month to get the last 60 cars. The UCD is a fickle mistress.
 
Chalk me down for Standards first. I can get Premiums whenever I want.

Yep, absolutely! That's been my philosophy since Day 1. Going after what might not always be there is a high priority! I want to spend as little time searching for 'the one' as possible...

Um, no? Did you forget that the UCD spits out 6 new cars after EVERY race? Did you forget that there are only about 80 cars you can no longer trade out of 1031? That's only 7.7% of the game's cars. I think that's a rather arrogant claim on your part - don't be afraid to take a look at the other 92.3% of the cars GT5 has to offer eh? So no, it's not the end - I disagree.

On topic.

I tend to just buy the cars i want, since i don't drive standards often that usually ends up being premiums. i've got quite a collection and none of that involved duping or trading for duped cars.
 
I'm buying all the cars I can from the UCD first as premiums can be bought at any time. The exception are the cars I really want and cars I need for different online leagues I'm in.

UCD first, than dealership, as alot have people have said, premium's are always there.
