Welcome to the new week's thread! The biggest stunner last week (among others) was Ohio State losing to USCal. Okay... maybe the REAL stunner was Duke beating Army. No... the real stunner was Houston beating #6 Oklahoma State. As a result, the Cougars of the University of Houston are now #21 in FBS. They'll host Texas Tech in two weeks.

Time to go to work.

FBS Starts Thursday, and goes into Saturday

FCS Starts Thursday and resumes Saturday

Division 2 starts Thursday and goes into Saturday

Division 3 Scores

Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts - A Postponed Match is Settled Today
* MIT {Engineers} at Massachusetts Maritime {Buccaneers}
The Buccaneers engineered a better plan on the football field as the Engineers of Massachusetts Institute of Technology failed to do anything about it. (49-27; MASSACHUSETTS MARITIME)

NFL Focus
No more college football scores. So now begins the first NFL Focus of my reports. This is simply a brief look at how NFL teams fared on the football field. See if your favorite team or teams won. Again, I won't feature every team. It's just a minor scoreboard from me. And being in Houston, I start with my hometown team.

Houston, Texas - Texans' Playoff Hopes Begin
* New York Jets at Houston Texans
Texans want playoffs, and Jets want a big win for their new QB. For the Texans, so far, so bad. The Texans were booed at as they failed miserably against Mark Sanchez's debut for the Jets. If you saw the general discussion thread, you know my frustration. Still, it's only one game. They need to get better quickly if they don't want this to be another playoff-less season. (24-7; New York Jets)

Indianapolis, Indiana - Colts Ready to Start Anew
* Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts
The Colts won a close one in this AFC South matchup. Jacksonville's Jaguars didn't have the teeth to feast on the boys in blue. (14-12; INDIANAPOLIS COLTS)

New Orleans, Louisiana - Fail-tastic Lions Had Many Months to Right Their Wrongs, Looking for a Great Start
* Detroit Lions at New Orleans Saints
Because the Tulane Green Wave can't win in the Louisiana Superdome, it's time for the New Orleans Saints to exorcise some demons. Detroit's Lions headed back to MoTown singing the blues as the black and gold creamed them. (45-27; NEW ORLEANS SAINTS)

Glendale, Arizona - Super Bowl Runners-Up See Great Start
* San Francisco 49ers at Arizona Cardinals
University of Phoenix Stadium is home to the Fiesta Bowl and Wrestlemania XVI. But when those events aren't taking place, it's used for the Arizona Cardinals. Their stadium is beautiful, which I can't say for the aging stadium the San Francisco 49ers play at. Just like the bridge of the same name, the 49ers were golden in taking down the Cardinals. (20-16; San Francisco 49ers)

Atlanta, Georgia - Dolphins Look to Make a Splash in the ATL
* Miami Dolphins at Atlanta Falcons
Nothing peachy about this match. We got fish and birds. Miami is ready to head into the Georgia Dome thinking win. Atlanta's trying to defend home turf, as only Falcons can. Miami was in the house, but they didn't leave with a win. (19-7; ATLANTA FALCONS)

Tampa Bay, Florida - Buccaneers Set Sail for a New Season
* Dallas Cowboys at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Florida. The Sunshine State. It's south Florida's other NFL team ready to roll. The Buccaneers are ready to take on their opposition from the Lone Star State. The Dallas Cowboys didn't bring that huge scoreboard to help out in Dallas' attempts to sink the Buccaneers. And really, they didn't need it. The 'Boys are the only Texas team that won on Sunday. (34-21; Dallas Cowboys)

Seattle, Washington - The Pacific Northwest's Only NFL Team Meets Some Rams
* St. Louis Rams at Seattle Seahawks
I'd like to send a hello to the Pacific Northwest. The Seattle Seahawks are ready to take on FoolKiller's Rams. The Rams failed to score and failed to win, while Seattle flew away with this one[/U] (28-0; SEATTLE SEAHAWKS)

Cincinnati, Ohio - A Team in Disarray is Ready to Roar Loudly
* Denver Broncos at Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals hate being called the "Bungles." Well, the Bengals committed a monkeyshine that gave the Broncos the win as they galloped out of southern Ohio with a win. (12-7; Denver Broncos)

Green Bay, Wisconsin - Packers Ready to Pack it in to Win
* Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers {SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL}
The Packers hung tough against Chicago to win. These Bears were more like teddy bears to Green Bay. (21-15; GREEN BAY PACKERS

That concludes this report. Thanks for reading!

Tate Forcier and Darryl Stonum, both of U of M, were named Big Ten players of the week. Way to go fellas! I'm really liking Forcier, he's a bit unpolished but he's getting there and by next year I expect him to be really on his game...as long as he goes the season without a major injury.

U of M is set to square off against Eastern this weekend, shouldn't be that much of an issue for them but you never know. The way the season he been going so far I'm not counting anyone out. I mean for god sakes Michigan State lost to Central over this past weekend...I'm still trying to figure that one out. The Spartans are going up against Norte Dame, which should provide a pretty good match up.

I really like this kid as well,the spark that U of M may be looking for.They still need some key ingredients to fulfill the desire to run a spread offense.I give that big blue machine a year or two,and they should be right back up there.Hey,they are a ranked team again.

As far as O.S.U. goes - nothing to hang their head about.They fought hard for all 4 quarters,but at the end it just wasn't to be.Bucks go against the MAC this weekend - Toledo.Should be a easy game for O.S.U. - but I will not hold my breath ***cough*** Navy ***cough***.The loss to USC only dropped us 3 spots,down to 11,a lot of time left though to climb back into the hunt.

Penn. State - for real or just pretenders in the Big 10 ?

I think Joe Paterno has something cooking over there in Happy Valley.

Yeah, but when you constantly lose big games, some feel that you can't win the big ones. So at one point, Ohio State needs to take down the big teams to save face not only for themselves, but also for the Big Ten. As I said in last week's report, I said "Forcier is the truth!" Let's see if he can keep up the great work under center for the blue and maize.

Yeah,O.S.U. got throttled in Championship games 2 years in a row ( Florida & L.S.U. - both from the S.E.C. ).How many teams can say that they made it that far.....two years in a row ?.There are a bunch of teams out there that can't even possibly think of having O.S.U.'s woes in the big game (bet ya' they would like to have this problem though).It really does not bother me in the least....I can at least say that we made it to the "Big One".The monkey will fall off their back,and there will be another trophy sitting on a shelf in Columbus.

Speaking of monkeys on a back - why can't anyone from the Big 10 beat U.S.C. ? The last Big 10 team to beat U.S.C. was Penn State,back in '94. Is the PAC 10 that dominant ?

For this extra, I did a little more reading on the University of Minnesota's beautiful new stadium. Here is the link:

http://stadium.gophersports.com

There is a nice 3D animation showing the finer details of this new stadium. I must say that I'm looking forward to seeing this stadium on TV to see what it's like. Maybe either for non-conference games or even in Big Ten play. The Gophers knocked off Air Force in their latest match. Looks awesome, even with the view of downtown Minneapolis. The newer Minnesota Twins ballpark should also have a nice view of downtown Minneapolis. I do sometimes wonder about snow storms or something with games at this stadium and at the forthcoming Minnesota Twins ballpark.

Anyhow, I'm back with more scores tomorrow. Be sure to check into this thread for results of Thursday games when my report is complete. Take care!

People, I have sad news to report. NCAA President, Myles Brand, has died from pancreatic cancer. The former Indiana University president has best been known for his involvement in strict regulation of atheletics and academics in the NCAA. He was 67 years old. My thoughts and prayers go out to Myles Brand and all whom have known and loved him.

Tonight, the NCAA action kicks off in the state of Florida. FBS will see #16 Georgia Tech roll into #20 Miami as the 'Canes think upset. And in FCS, Howard University's Bison will head to Tallahassee to take on the 2-0 Florida A&M Rattlers in this matchup between two of America's historically-black universities.

Check back in when my report is done!

Ya I saw that, that's sad, he wasn't even that old and brain cancer is pretty awful. My thoughts are with his family too.

I haven't gotten the chance to see it from the inside but from my driving by it once it looks awesome. Hopefully I can make it to a game next year(every game is sold out this year).

Also, the Twins shouldn't have a problem with snow, the lowest average temp. during the MLB season is like 55(and that is when we play in the World Series:sly:).

My YouTube video, "What Was KanYe Thinking?" has netted me some of my best numbers on YouTube. More on that in my Student Lounge. For now, scores! FBS and FCS go to work in the great state of Florida! By the way, I wish my mother a happy birthday on this Thursday!

Miami, Florida - Hurricanes Look to Disinfect Some Yellow Jackets
* #16 Georgia Tech {Yellow Jackets} at #20 Miami {Hurricanes}
The University of Miami is one of the proudest and most boastful college football programs in NCAA history. Miami is slowly trying to rebuild their former dominance, and a good way to get that going is to tame some boys from Atlanta. If this was the NFL, this would be the Falcons at the Dolphins. The Miami Hurricanes have no problem blowing away their competition. The 'Canes will need some pretty intense winds to pull off a win against Georgia Tech. The Georgia Institute of Technology is ready to throw down proper on the gridiron. They may be known as the Yellow Jackets, but they are NEVER yellow when showing up for a game. The Hurricanes hammered and battered the Yellow Jackets just about all night long. (33-17; #20 MIAMI)

The Florida love continues with FCS.

Tallahassee, Florida - Seminoles Aren't the Only Powers in Town!
* Howard {Bison} at Florida A&M {Rattlers}
Tallahassee means many things for college football fans, namely Seminole football at Florida State. The state capital of Florida is ready for some Thursday Night Lights. Florida A&M is the last historically-black university to win the National Championship in FCS back in 1978(?). Today's Rattlers are ready to lash out at its opponents and coil around them, suffocating them, and eat their opposition for dinner. Not literally, of course! The Bison aren't afraid to step up to the plate and take a swing at FAMU. Did they get a home run? Really, more like hitting a grand slam that knocked Howard all the way back to Washington, D.C. (48-10; FLORIDA A&M)

Two games in Division 2. Let's see who all won on this night.

* Glenville State at Fairmont State (50-37; FAIRMONT STATE)
* West Alabama at Southern Arkansas (38-30, 5OT; SOUTHERN ARKANSAS)

Division 3 Starts Friday

I made a new blog entry concering my most recent video on YouTube. It has given me a feeling of accomplishment that I could create a successful video. You may visit the following link:

Have a good read, will 'ya!?

For Friday night, it's #10 Boise State at Fresno State. A great QB matchup is on for this game. Can the boys from Fresno State tame the boys from the Smurf Turf? Find out in my next report!

Kentucky's Governor's cup game is this Saturday. The rivalry between the University of Louisville and the University of Kentucky rages on in Commonwealth Stadium in Lexington, KY.

I am calling this game for Kentucky 31-17.

Louisville isn't looking too good this year, while Kentucky is firing on all pistons.

You know, I'll have to go with Kentucky too. Louisville was pretty powerful, but Kentucky's really come along well the past few years. Maybe not win-the-SEC good, but considerably better. Of course, most of Kentucky's earlier successes came with Andre' Woodson under center. But yeah, Battle of the Bluegrass to the boys in blue.

Later tonight, I'll have results from FBS, Division 2, and Division 3. Check in when my report is done!

Mike Hartlione looked much better in their opener blowout against Miami of Ohio. He had a few old mistakes in the first quarter, but then looked like a completely different player. Coach Brooks is so sure of him that Cobb is our full starting RB.

Louisville, on the other hand, had fans leaving their Indiana State game by halftime.

All the good action happens on Saturday. But before you can go into Saturday, you must go through Friday. So let's see what kind of Friday football was on tap!

Fresno, California - Bulldogs Think Upset; Broncos Think Stampede... Who Wins?
* #10 Boise State {Broncos} at Fresno State {Bulldogs}
Wine Country is on tap. But no wine for you people... just football. The Fresno State Bulldogs think the horsies from Potato Country don't come out alive. Boise State's Broncos think otherwise. Boise State's toughest opposition now will be the game at Tulsa later this season. For now, it's a win for the blue and orange. (51-34; #10 Boise State)

Division FCS resumes Saturday

Stonehill at Merrimack (42-21; MERRIMACK)

Division 3 Scores
Source: http://www.d3football.com/schedule/2009/3.html

* Gettysburg at Johns Hopkins (41-23; JOHNS HOPKINS)
* Worcester State at Nichols (21-20; NICHOLS
* FDU-Florham at New Jersey (58-28; THE COLLEGE OF NEW JERSEY)

That's all for this one. Go out and go see a game! Or you can always watch games live on TV or on the Internet. Go enjoy a game, GTPlanet! More scores tomorrow! And don't forget... I want you to tell me what you think are the biggest wins and losses each week. I'll make some suggestions, but I'm no longer doing "Biggest Wins" and "Most Disappointing Losses." Let me know what your winners and losers from the past week are!

People, I've decided to make Tennessee at #1 Florida as my "Game of the Week." Right now, I'm watching #8 California at Minnesota and Louisville at Kentucky. I may also check out Texas Tech at Texas later tonight. So go enjoy some college football!

Man, Florida is lucky to be playing Tennessee today. I really dont think,after looking at todays preformance they are the #1 team in the nation. Even Superman (Tebo) has fumbled and an interception. I am a Tennessee fan but this is not going to be a good year for Tenn. And given the comments made by coach Kiffen I thought Fla would take us to the wood shed real good. Fla just looks like Tebo is all they got.

Looks like USC avoided a regulation time upset.

Edit: Looks like Washington pulled it off in regulation!!!!!!

Why does USC always lose to a "crappy" team?

Hi, everyone! Here is my quick report on what's happened so far:

--- Quick Headlines ---
* Seattle's favorite puppies stuns Los Angeles' favorite soldiers 16-13
* Nebraska takes Virginia Tech to the limit, but VT survives
* Michigan beat Notre Dame last week, but nicely handled Michigan State
* Utah's 16-game winning streak ends at the hands of Oregon
* Minnesota's Golden Gophers settle for silver against the California Golden Bears
* Lane Kiffin's "singing Rocky Top all night long" didn't happen
* Kentucky are kings of the Bluegrass State by beating Louisville in a shootout

A full report will come overnight or tomorrow morning. Stay tuned, people!

We might have lost Myles Brand, but I'm sure even he can be proud of all the football action that takes place on Saturdays. So let's lace 'em up and tackle the college football nation!

Gainesville, Florida - Lane Kiffin Needs His Players to Back up Kiffin's Words
* Tennessee {Volunteers} at #1 Florida --- GAME OF THE WEEK ---
The SEC on CBS makes its 2009 debut. It's the Third Saturday in September, meaning only one thing- Tennessee and Florida are ready to settle their differences yet again. The Tennessee Volunteers have done very little to convince anyone. Maybe a win at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium would help silence naysayers. But, the Gators don't take too kindly to loudmouths who wear orange and white. Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson had the call for this game. It was a beautiful day in Gainesville, Florida with mostly clear skies. However, it wasn't a beautiful day for Kiffin as his boys couldn't back up the noise he was talking.

Tennessee - 13
#1 FLORIDA - 23

Austin, Texas - Longhorns Waited Ten Months for a Rematch
* Texas Tech {Red Raiders} at #2 Texas {Longhorns}
"You are looking live at D.K.R. Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas!" as Brent Musburger would say. The Longhorns are sick and tired of ESPN playing and overplaying the highlights of Michael Crabtree's late touchdown reception that would stun (then) #1 Texas. So what happens when you get sick of ESPN rubbing it in by making love to the same sports highlight, you want to beat somebody's asses on the football field. These two rivals would play in central Texas. There may be exceptional drought in south and central Texas, but DKR Memorial Stadium has no problem flooding the stadium with burnt orange and white. The Red Raiders want to give Texas an encore. Didn't happen.

Minneapolis, Minnesota - Golden Gopher Fans at TCF Bank Stadium is Banking on an Upset
* #8 California {Golden Bears} at Minnesota {Golden Gophers}
I was so happy because I finally got to see what this stadium was like on television. It is such a beautiful stadium, including the fact that I love urban settings. Nothing lovelier than being able to see downtown. I'm sure even people in the high-rises in downtown Minneapolis had telescopes to see the game live from the top floors. That's especially if they want the Golden Gophers to get a golden win over California. The Golden Bears left the Bay Area to play with some rodents with a goofy mascot. The Golden Bears won this game, but they were in for a fight. (35-21; #8 California)

SIDE NOTES:
TCF Bank Stadium will feature a few more big-name teams in a few years. They'll host teams like USCal and Texas in the coming years. Speaking of USCal...

Seattle, Washington - Huskies Hungry for Trojan Meat
* #3 USCal {Trojans} at Washington {Huskies}
Let's pay a virtual visit to Husky Stadium in Seattle. The setting is so beautiful- lots of trees, being around water, and lest we forget the fans packing the stands. The 2009 Washington Huskies are far from their 1990 team, which shared the National Championship with the University of Miami. National Champions and the University of Southern California go hand-in-hand. Matt Barkley will not start, giving way to Aaron Corp. The Trojans are going to try to make due with Corp in downing the Huskies. The Emerald State wants a golden win. Time to see if they got it. Purple and gold rocked the cardinal and gold's world. Washington got their biggest win of all in a while. They've lost 15(?) straight, now have won 2 straight (16-13; WASHINGTON)

Blacksburg, Virginia - Nebraska Faces Their Toughest Test of the Season
* #19 Nebraska {Cornhuskers} at #13 Virginia Tech {Cornhuskers}
This was one of three ABC matches slated for 3:30 PM EDT. Get ready for a big test for Nebraska as the Cornhuskers try to represent the only Nebraska football school in Division 1 (because Creighton doesn't have football). The Hokie Nation will come alive as Virginia Tech hosts some boys from Lincoln, Nebraska. Late heroics by Virginia Tech gave VT an epic win against the Cornhuskers. Even Sean McDonough(?) had an epic voice in saying "TOUCHDOWN!" as VT won. (16-15; #13 VIRGINIA TECH)

Akron, Ohio - Zips Open New Digs, Seeking a Rare Win vs. a Big Ten Team
* Indiana {Hoosiers} at Akron {Zips}
The late Myles Brand was president of Indiana University prior to being the head cheese of the NCAA. The Hoosiers don't want to fall victim to Akron. Akron's Zips didn't have what it took to beat the Indiana Hoosiers. They'd lose even if this game was played at the Rubber Bowl instead of their new stadium. (38-21; Indiana)

Baton Rouge, Louisiana - Tigers Seek Dinner
* Louisiana-Lafayette {Ragin' Cajuns} at #9 LSU {Tigers}
Let's talk about Baton Rouge! The cry of "Geaux Tigers" fills the night air in Baton Rouge when the LSU Tigers seek dinner. The Ragin' Cajuns of Louisiana-Lafayette will do everything they can to try to stop the LSU onslaught. A single field goal isn't enough to beat LSU, as Lousiana-Lafayette sadly learned (31-3; #9 LOUISIANA STATE)

Lexington, Kentucky - Red vs. Bluegrass for State Pride
* Louisville {Cardinals} at Kentucky {Wildcats}
The game FoolKiller cares most about each season in every sport will be played out at Commonwealth Stadium. Unless you consider Western Kentucky as the power of the Bluegrass State, then this game is of little significance to you. Until WKU can learn to win in FBS, the Kentucky Wildcats are proving great in football apart from their men's basketball team. Louisville hasn't been all that good in men's basketball lately and even in football, but the Cardinals can still play to win. Kentucky beats Louisville in a shootout. (31-27; KENTUCKY)

West Lafayette, Indiana - Boilermakers Meet Some Ravenous Monsters from a Place Other Than Ann Arbor
* Northern Illinois {Huskies} at Purdue {Boilermakers}
The Boilermakers got derailed by the Huskies of Northern Illinois University. (28-21; Northern Illinois)

Lawrence, Kansas - Basketball Powers Prove Their Dominance in Football
* Duke {Blue Devils} at #22 Kansas {Jayhawks}
This would be a barnburner at Allen Fieldhouse. But... this is a contest of two teams that would normally get beaten by almost anybody. That was then... this is now. The Jayhawks know what it takes to win on the football field. They finally figured it out the past few years. It's too bad the Duke Blue Devils are such masochists that they don't mind getting their heads pounded in by some other team. Kansas fulfilled the Duke football team's masochistic pleasures by allowing themselves to be pounded into the ground on this day. (44-16; #22 KANSAS)

Ann Arbor, Michigan - Wolverines Face Michigan's Worst Division 1 Team
* Eastern Michigan {Eagles} at #25 Michigan {Wolverines}
I can't hate too much on EMU because a wonderful professor whom I've been a student of is an EMU grad. Still, the Eagles are pretty bad. They're the worst Division 1 football team because there aren't any FCS schools in Michigan. Either unless Grand Valley State joins FCS... or if schools like Oakland or Detroit-Mercy start up football, Eastern Michigan is the worst Michigan team in Division 1. Michigan, however, is the very best football team in Division 1. Forcier will want to force the issue, leading his Wolverines in grounding the Eagles. EMU's Eagles didn't fly high enough to tame Michigan's beastly Wolverines. Let's just say they didn't have a good landing[/U]. (45-17; #25 MICHIGAN)

College Park, Maryland - Weak Maryland Tries to Rise Up from Mediocrity
* Middle Tennessee State {Blue Raiders} at Maryland {Terrapins}
Terrapins, or terrible-pins? There's nothing to fear when Terrapins football has been lethargic. MTSU wants in on the Maryland-bashing fun. Did they deliver? Middle Tennessee State puts Maryland into further trouble. They lost by only one, but they still lost. I wouldn't be surprised if somebody gets fired at Maryland for the pathetic season they've had. (32-31; Middle Tennessee State)

Boulder, Colorado - Cowboys Ready to Duel in Colorado
* Wyoming {Cowboys} at Colorado {Buffaloes}
So here's the rundown for the Colorado Buffaloes. They can't beat Colorado State and get whacked at Toledo. Maybe the Buffaloes can take down that team from the other state shaped like a box. That would by Wyoming. The Cowboys got throttled by Colorado as they were fading from Colorado's rear view mirror. (24-0; COLORADO)

State pride on the line in Utah. Let's check in on Utah's three FBS schools.

Utah Pack

Eugene, Oregon - Utah Seeks to Make Oregon's Ugly Choice of Uniforms Beautiful Again
* #18 Utah {Utes} at Oregon {Ducks}
Maybe "ugly duckling" originated in Eugene, Oregon as FBS's fashionistas hit the gridiron. The Ducks boast some of the ugliest uniforms any team can sport. Sometimes when trying something different doesn't work, there's always a pair of simple colors. You know, like the scarlet and white worn by the Utah Utes.
Only thing ugly about this game was the uglier team beating the beautiful team in an upset. Remember- ugly teams need lovin' too! (31-24; OREGON)

Provo, Utah - BYU Could Have Inside Track on a BCS Bowl With a Win
* Florida State {Seminoles} at #7 BYU {Cougars}
I thought all along that this game would be played in the state of Florida. But no, it's at BYU. The Provo boys want to prove themselves as the superior team in the state of Utah. Since Utah lost, they have a chance to show they're the best in the state of Utah. Oh, but wait! The Seminoles from Tallahasee, Florida think otherwise.
This was ugly. BYU beat Oklahoma in a thriller, but lose to Florida State in a not-even-close thrashing. (54-28; Florida State)

College Station, Texas - Gig 'em Aggies... But WHICH Aggies?
* Utah State {Aggies} at Texas A&M {Aggies}
Call it the Aggie Bowl, and call Texas A&M the winners in a surprisingly close game[/I]. (38-30; TEXAS A&M)

-end of Utah Pack

Bowling Green, Kentucky - Transitioning WKU Meets an Old FCS Buddy
* Central Arkansas {Bearcats} at Western Kentucky {Hilltoppers}
When moving up from one division, you have to play like you are miles beyond your opposition in lower divisions. Western Kentucky clearly wasn't ready for this game as the Hilltoppers got topped mercifully by the Central Arkansas Bearcats from Conway, Arkansas. (28-7; Central Arkansas)

Stillwater, Oklahoma - The Cowboys Get Another Chance at Beating a Houston Team
* Rice {Owls} at #16 Oklahoma State {Cowboys}
The University of Houston stunned the Oklahoma State Cowboys at Boone-Pickens Stadium last week. Now, Oklahoma State gets Houston's rivals- Rice. The Rice Owls clearly aren't as powerful as the Houston Cougars. Being a Cougar fan myself, Oklahoma State can do whatever they want to the Rice Owls, including nearly doubling up on the lowly Rice Owls. (41-24; #16 OKLAHOMA STATE)

Syracuse, New York - Up and Comers Clash in the Dome
* Northwestern {Wildcats} at Syracuse {Orange}
What is it with Syracuse? Don't they get to enjoy life in the great outdoors? Nope... the Carrier Dome is about the home for all or most of their sports. Hell, they'd wish they had races at the Carrier Dome if ever there was an NCAA-sanctioned racing series. The Orange are ready to play, and so are Northwestern's Wildcats. Syracuse defended home ground in a close one. (37-34; SYRACUSE)

Orlando, Florida - Bulls Stampede For Gold
* Southeastern Louisiana {Lions} at UCF {Golden Knights}
If you follow a rainbow, it's rumored that there's a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. That is what led a bunch of curious Bulls to Orlando, Florida. They are seeking gold and landed in the Citrus Bowl. They found gold, all right- a royal court of Golden Knights! Gold was the color of the day as the Golden Knights thwarted the Bulls. (23-17; CENTRAL FLORIDA)

Fayetteville, Arkansas - Razorbacks Look to Make Bulldogs Squeal
* #23 Georgia {Bulldogs} at Arkansas {Razorbacks}
Athens, Georgia is home to the University of Georgia and the proudest bunch of Bulldogs anywhere in the nation. They're set to turn the Razorbacks into bacon to send back to Athens in doggie bags. The Bulldogs brought breakfast back to Athens for Sunday- fresh Razorback bacon! Close game, too. (52-41; #23 Georgia)

Las Vegas, Nevada - Rebels Wild in Sin City!
* Hawaii {[Rainbow] Warriors} at UNLV {Rebels}
Finally, the FBS portion ends in Las Vegas, Nevada. It's a city my brother and mother have visited several times, but I have yet to. Make your picks at the roulette wheel. Do you think the Hawaii Warriors will win, or do you think the UNLV Rebels will hit the jackpot? You're a winner because the roulette ball landed on UNLV winning this game. (34-33; NEVADA-LAS VEGAS)

Beatdowns! Come and get your beatdowns! Feel free to play some trashy rock music as these teams all got beat pretty bad.
* #11 Ohio State at Toledo (38-0; #11 Ohio State)
* North Texas at #4 Alabama (53-7; #4 ALABAMA)
* Furman at Missouri (52-12; MISSOURI)
* Alcorn State at Central Michigan (48-0; CENTRAL MICHIGAN)
* Tulsa at #12 Oklahoma (45-0; #12 OKLAHOMA)

A moment of love and a moment of hate. It's time to decide on this week's winners and losers. I may start naming my winners and losers after my Winners and Losers post. Here are some highlights for you to vote on for big wins and disappointing losses:

Notable Wins and Losses
* Utah, BYU, and Utah State lose on the same day; BYU eviscerated at home
* Virginia Tech wins in a late-game thriller
* Florida shut up (and down) Tennessee in The Swamp
* Kentucky wins Governor's Cup for the third successive year
* Western Kentucky loses to an FCS
* Notre Dame beats Michigan State for the first time in South Bend since 1993
* Texas gets revenge over Texas Tech
* Albany stuns Maine
* Delaware Valley hammers #5 Wesley

Now on to my UPSET and OWNAGE picks. Get ready!

UPSET OF THE WEEK is...
...Washington shocking #3 USCal in Seattle!

Kylehnat would be proud. This was a great win. And to be honest, I wasn't expecting USCal to lose in Seattle. It's why you always envision the possibility of an upset even if a game a team is a 10,000 point underdog.

OWNAGE OF THE WEEK is...
...Texas Southern OWNED Texas College 75-6!

Texas Southern hammered the daylights out of poor Texas College on this day. What a shame.

John's Student Lounge - Music
Time to end this week of college football madness with a little music. One of my favorites in the club/electronic pop scene, Amber, celebrated her birthday on this past Thursday. So in celebration of her music, here's a video of her hits over the years. Also, to pay respect to Taylor Swift apart from the bonehead actions of KanYe West, I'm including her latest hit song in a way you may have never heard. Enjoy Amber and Taylor Swift to close out this week!

The week of Petit Le Mans is usually my motorsports-themed week. This time around, I'll leave the motorsports theme for Saturday. If you're a racing fan, I'll try to make synergy with college football and racing as best as I can. That's all for this week. See you in next week's thread!

That Louisville @ Kentucky game was ugly on boths sides. Kentucky did everything they could to hand the game over to Louisville and somehow Louisville still couldn't pull it off. Oh well, at least half of my predicted score came true.

Kentucky had better be playing a different game next week. Florida doesn't let mistakes go unanswered.
