Combat flight sim 3

WHOA!
Have you seen the screen shots of it, this one looks promising, that last one was amazing, this one is gonna be the best for sure!

I think it is going to be realesed on october 24th in America, but in europe i am not sure.

What do you guys think of it?

Hell yeah I've seen those pics! I'm a really big flight sim buff and I can't wait for it! I've heard that it is going to come with an aircraft editor so you can edit the default gmax planes.

My fav. pics:

P-38!

I think I just killed someone's 56k...

SWEET, SWEET KICK ASS PICS!!!
You gotta love it, i guess u will get it before me, I am afraid Scotland is the place in the world that gets anything last, so it will probably be released next year over here, nah i will just buy it online.

Do you have any other Flight sims, i have F-22 air dominance fighter, old but good, the ULTIMATE MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIM ORIGINAL!!!
I downloaded extra levels including the V-2 misslie silo attack, an apache helicopter, f-14a, B-17G, Lancaster MK3!, FW190Z( futre fw190a, the fw190z has photon torpedoes, phasers, and rearward firing atomic laser,)

I have F-22 Lightning III, Advanced Tactical Fighters, Flight Simulator 98, Combat Flight Simulator 1, and Flight Simulator 2002 Pro.

The original FS must be wicked! You can tell how well computers have evolved by the versions of FS.

yeah definitely, the pixels on the ground and as the clouds really make it look blocky and sometimes jaggedy, but that does not stop me from having a good time blowing the crap out of mustangs in the lancaster mk3!! quite difficult really!

yea this game is looking very good. I think in some ways it looks even better then LOMAC (graphically) but i prefer jets over props, so if i could only get one, it would be LOMAC. But that no worry, i'll just get em both :D

flight sims i have,
F22 ADF and TAW
Ef2000 (all versions) and Tatcom
ATF
blah blah blah, too many to remember :P

i prefer props, buts thats just me, i just like there abilty to combat like they do, they look quite graceful. I also like they way they look.
So if you like the microsoft combat 2 and original flight sim series go to www.netwings.org
They are also preparing to make mods for combat flight sim 3, they already have half a million downloads for CFS2, just check the websites downloadables, its impressive.

EF2000 hmmm, i have never heard of that one is it combat or commercial sim?

Yeah, me too. With FS98, all I did was fly the fastest jet fighters and heavies. But, with FS2002, I fly a lot of props because the scenery is just that much better. Mods?! You should check out flightsim.com and avsim.com.

EF2000 was a sim based on the new Euro-Fighter Typhoon.

I think the F-22 looks better. :D

yes i do agree, but you must admit that pic brings a tear to the eye! Euro fighter is cool but the F-22 ROCKS!!

I find flying a slow aircraft like a me109e is good because you can see alot more of the scenery and fight a bit easier in combat against other props, on my CFS my downloaded F-14 goes way too fast, i start quick combat and i go flying past the dorniers, " command control i have just SHOT past the enemy, suggest course of action" :D

Yeah those sites are cool, i prefered flightsim.com more choice of mods.

So are you going to get CFS3 when it comes out and if so what would be the first things you would do.
1) attach mods
2) Fly all the planes
3) Fight against other planes
4) go for a scenic flight
5) test fly at every airfield

I would fly all the planes!!

When I get CFS3, I'll go out on a scenic trip with the P-51 and check out those cool looking clouds. Then I'll do all the missions. There probably won't be mods when it comes out. Most likely you'll see them a week later.

EF2000 (also known as TFX3) was the first true 3D flightsim. It came out not long after Janes ATF. EF2000 was developed by DID and is really an awesome sim. Although it was a true 3D world, it did not make use of 3D cards, so naturally F22 looks much better (F22 also came out a few years after EF2k). There was eventually a patched released for EF2000 that took advantage of 3D cards, but you were required to own the Tatcom upgrade. While i like ADF and TAW alot, they don't have the same feel as EF2000. Ef2k just feels more....real.

True viper zero, they need a plane to make a mod first, or a piece of something out of the game to modify it and even then it would take a week to make it.
Cool angel of death, so basically the better the 3D card the better the grphics will be, my scafe computer upstairs is the first of the Pentiums it has pretty low specs and no 3D graphics card, i am not going to bother getting one for it anyway because it only has 1GB memory and 200mhz so i can only put on a maximum of 2 games on at a time, then i have to uninstall one and then install another, gets annoying.

What other flight sim would you compare EF2K's Graphics to, i would compare warbirds 2.01's graphics to F-22. The original combat flight sims graphics i find are slightly better than those used in Flight sim 98, but thats just my opinion.

No, I ment the real life F-22 looks better than the Euro Fighter. Not the game. I've never played EF2000.

Man i ALWAYS get stuff mixed up, i feel really quere!
F-22 and eurofighter, i cannot make up my mind, both look good.
Best looking planes in the world to me would probably be either a T-6(Because i have flown one in real life, or a vampire, because i am distantly related to the company that made it Dehavilland.)

The airport in south wales, swansea has a couple of vampires and used to own the worlds only airworthy Dehavilland sea vixen, fantastic plane to see.
I flew the T-6 in florida last year in october in the warbird adventures orlando, kissimmee, hoagland blvd.
If you can give it a try i would suggest, best thing i have done thrill wise.
And if you have $1500 to waste go to steins51's next door, the only place in the world where you can walk of the street and fly a P-51! I saw them when taxiing in the T-6.

Sorry once i start talking about something i seem to go on, and on and on.

Wow! Flying a T-6 must have been great! Got any pics?

I live about 20 minutes from Castle Air Force Base, a retired Strategic Air Command base that flew B-52s ready for armageddon. At their museum, they have the SR-71 that flew the most sucsessful missions on display. I have pics of it somewhere on the forum, search for it. :)

I think the best looking aircraft are the P-61 Blackwidow, SR-71 Blackbird, and P-51 Mustang.

Yeah, my all time favs or top 5 are
1.T-6
2.Vampire
3.Spitfire mk9 NICE!
4.Lancaster bomber
5. P-51 mustang, KICK ASS PLANE!!!

there are pics, but only on paper, you can see the plane i flew though at
www.warbirdadventures.com
once you are there, see there T-6 pictures, i flew in aircarft number 3, the brown and yellow plane ( and no its not me in the plane)! :)
Also check all there other stuff on the site.

Wow, those T-6s look great. It must have been fun flying them. I would love to take a trip to Florida and fly them!

i am back,
Yeah, people like that almost made me pay for a download, they are just cheap low lifes who just want to make a few £'s or $'s.
I cannot wait until CFS3 comes out, looks amazin
i have found LOADS of site to download planes, campaigns, and all sorts, i downloaded alot and my choices of aircraft go from a ju52 to an X-WING fighter, i have a star wars sky hopper, me262, 2 Ju-87s and the list goes on, i have new campaigns too.

You might as well delete all of those add-ons now Meglomaniac. For some stupid reason, Microsoft rewritten the Flight Sim engine code and there is no longer any Model, Sound, Texture, Panel, *.air, *.mdl file structure. With CFS3, it's only a couple of unknown files and a Sound folder, that's it. So, CFS3 won't be able to recognize any add-on that has been released, including FS2002 GMAX aircraft, even though CFS3 uses GMAX. Microsoft said it will release a module for GMAX that will allow you to convert GMAX models to the CFS3 file structure, but you might as well forget about it because no designer is going to wait that long or try to crack Microsoft's code. They'll just wait for the next gen of Flight Simulator (FS2004 ?).

And that's not the end of it. Many users say they had major problems with installing it, driver issues, shuttering, low fps, sound problems, DirectX problems, and crashing. Just check out the avsim.com forums.

Microsoft definitely needs to send out a patch because I'm not going to buy it until one gets released.

wow, glad ya told me, i knew it had flaws, but not at this magnetude(if thats how it spelt), if the game won't accept downloads for CFS3 then whats the point in getting it, the Mods, downloads made the games better, i am sticking to CFS1 until microsoft can put full ass atempts at making a game.

So hows does IL2 sturmkov compare to CFS3?
Is there any good MODERN flight sims!?!?!?

And ummm, whats a patch?
i tell people i am behind with this sorta thing.

Now may i ask some questions about G-MAX
1) I have never used a piece of software like that before, is it good for beginners or is there another type of software that is good for begginers?
2) Do you have to buy a programming software so you can program the plane?
3) if 3 is yes, what programming software would you suggest.
4) how long does it take to build up a good model in detail.

I am very keen to start, there is a chance that i might be getting a new PC, which would be great to run these things on.

Thanks very much in advance viper _zero
:D :)

Yeah, I still ahve CFS1 too.

IL2 is a lot better than any CFS versions. Make sure you have enough hardware to run it though. A patch is a fix to the software.

1. GMAX is a "little sister" to 3DS MAX, a 3D modeling program. It's easy once you know what you're doing. There are A LOT of tutorials for 3DS on the web and you can use those tutorials for GMAX, since they are basicly the same.

2. GMAX comes free with FS2002 Pro. You can also download it for free.

3. GMAX just makes models. If you want to make a complete aircraft for FS2002 or CFS, you need a panel maker, photo editing software, and sound editing software. I can get you the panel software, if you want it. I would use Photoshop or Paintshop pro for the photo editing (you probably already have one), and sound editing software can be downloaded for free.

4. A good, detailed model will take around 10 months to make from scratch. If you find a model on the net, it will take less time and you can import it to GMAX and edit it and add stuff to it for FS.

Excuse me for my bad spelling, I'm at school and they don't have a spell check installed.

wow, 10 months, 3D modelling sounds hard, but if i put in some effort i am sure it will work out.
So you could get me a full kit or list of what and where i can get these things that i need for modelling, i would really appreciate that, it would save me looking round the internet and downloading.
Sorry if i seem lazy, u doing all the work, but i have no clue what to do.

I have microsoft photo editor, but its duffed up.
What sound editing software is there?
And what is a panel maker? (sorry!)
Maybe i will get paintshop pro, but i have no pics of airplanes, so i dunno, do i need a picture of a plane to for it, or can i just make one, accuratly.
I could easily get, sound editor, and paintshop pro, but do i need photos of planes?
U have bad spelling!?!?!, no way if there is one thing i cannot do, its spelling Words.
But apart from that ,i am only caring on modling, and making a good one.

Thanx alot for the info viper_zero, i cannot thank you enough!
:)

My school is sorta the same, some places have computers which are only 166Mhz and only 8mb RAM, not good, Spell checker they have, but its about as acurate as a man with an old glock who is trying to shoot a target 5 miles away!
