I'm doing the fourth race in the Formula GT Series (after a week the car popped like mana from the heavens...)

Coming into the second to last corner of the Nurburgring the AI spins into the dirt and collects two or three more cars every single time. Literally there are two to four cars in a pile up every single lap so far around the second to last corner. Every. Single. Lap. :dunce:

How can the AI not negotiate this turn every single time? lol

Oh well, it's keeping me competitive, I keep going off the track and then pick up the three to four places I've lost at this corner.

Did anyone else see this? I'm blown away, I think I'm racing against B-Spec Bob here. :nervous:

I'm surprised there aren't more screwups by the AI. its very unrealistic to run all these races and never see cars getting into trouble, just following eachother down the track on the perfect line like a choo-choo train.

The AI is very bothersome. I think I would just go around the practice track if it gave me money. I am not an expert driver, but I would also like to think I am not a beginner. Though When I race I want to be in 1st the whole time because the AI is so bad they will spin you out, keep bumping you so that everyone passes you etc. It seems like PD literally did the very least they could with the AI. I honestly wouldn't even call it AI, its a preprogrammed route that the computer can correct if it deviates. NO intelligence involved. If you are in the path it will hit you SO ANNOYING!

Exactly. And in this case they've somehow programmed the 'AI' to go off the course, in their particular training fashion, every single time around the course.

How does something like this make it through a five year development cycle? Just ran it again to see if it was a glitch and it's still happening... :indiff:

That is what I thought, I would sacrifice graphics for a better AI any day. It wouldn't be too bad but I honestly do not have the patience to run a competitive race only to be spun out on the last turn and take 4-7th or worse because the AI took the corner and hit my back end. Maybe they will patch it?

Yeah it's quite hilarious. Every single lap at least half the field spins coming out of that corner.

Has anyone gotten loose in a corner (I seem to do this often) and then been T-boned dead center by the AI where it takes ten seconds or so to extricate yourself because the AI just keeps on going full throttle even though they're accelerating into your side?

That corner is a trip. I came around there once and got caught in the madness, cars were everywhere, middle of the road, sides of the road, off in the grass. Then I get hit from behind and spun out to. Now I'm in the grass along with the rest of them. I still managed to win even though I did fall behind a few times. Was an entertaining race.

You want comical? Go to Top Gear for a race. The track is a proving ground not a race course and the sad matter is that the AI is literally put on a golden platter just perfect to have accidents and then have a brain fade and drop 10 positions for that same reason.
