Does anyone play this game online ? Are you part of a clan ?
I have just yesterday downloaded the info I needed to play online ,so Ive finally lost my Online Playing Virginity !!!

I cant seem to win a battle and I get massacred every time I play !!!

The on-line screen confuses me as well and I cant figure out whats what !!

I need help !

I don't play that game anymore,switched over to Generals but just so you know,Red Alert 2 online is full of cheaters.I remember when i used to play it that everytime i went on a server and started a game the other players had built an entire army of tanks and units and i haven't even started constructing my barracks.Or they woud have invulnerable units or be able to lauch multiple Nuclear Missles at once(you see 10 detonations on your screen at once).After that i quit playing it.Now there are even people starting to cheat on Generals.Developers should really start using Punkbuster more.It works like a charm.

And what do you mean the online screen confuses you.Every option you can click on says what it is.Perhaps you could create a screenshot of the online screen and post it here.It would be easier to explain what is what.
 
Its when all the channels are listed and there are like hundreds of different games etc ....

Well Ive pretty much given up already - I thought that cheating was going on as my opponents have built the chronosphere before I even got my barracks !!!

Thats well crap because its spoilt my view of it now, I havent been able to win a battle cos my opponents cheat - ITS CRAP.

 
Great Game, i like it better than Generals, but yes, lot's of cheaters. Oh well.

oh, and Getting Yuri's Revenge made it even better!! I loved just doing skirmishes against the computer with Yuri's Revenge. It added some things that made it nearly perfect!!
 
Red Alert2 rocked when I got it, wich was about 2 years ago, I think. Yuri's revenge made it even better, because Yuri had all these units that I loved. But the game is getting old because I played it so much and I demand more from a game nowadays. I bought Generals but it didn't work too good on my crappy computer. But I'll get my new computer in a couple of days :D
 
Generals is a very good game,but it's missing one essential part.The Cutscene Movies from previous games.Everytime i finsihed a mission in Red Alert 2 and one of those cutscenes showed up i was pumped for the next mission.If Generals had those it would make the game that much better.Hope that the hurry up with Red Alert 3.

whoa whoa whoa!!!! Red Alert 3???? are you just hoping or is there thruth to that?????

and yeah, Generals had no plot. I didn't think about it until i read your post ^, but i think the Cutscenes do have importance, and add a lot to the campaign mode.

There are some rumours about Red Alert 3 but nothing official.It may never appear but i'd like to think that it will.It's a huge franchise and it would be a shame to throw it away.

yeah, Tanya and Eva are smokin'!! I hope they do continue the series. It is nearly a household name in the gaming community.
 
I was rank 3500 in yuri's revenge, and had 7 people in my clan until a hack that made my compuer freeze whenever I won or lost a game stopped my playing it.

Go clan toozf!!!!!! yeah!
 
My friend just introduced me to this game on Saturday and I love it!!! Very addictive. I ended up buying the expansion pack but have only played Red Alert 2 so far. We ended up meeting online in a room together to play against the computer. That was sooooo fun. We played together for about 3 hours.
Then we tried a round against each other and I got schooled bad!! I only played the game for about 3 hours then we hopped online so I did not have the experience he had. I only played about 5 minutes of the "Story mode" then I just went back to killing the computer. Very addictive!! 👍 👍 If anyone wants to meet some time that would be fun. :)
I dont know a whole lot about this game but I am learning. I didnt see where it shows anywhere how to do anything so I just experimented a lot. Still trying to learn about the engineers.
 
Hi Camaroboy. It would be good to meet up in the "online" world and have a few games with you - Im glad you like the game.

From my small experience of it the engineers are used to take-over buildings, for example if you play on a map with a "tech outpost" on it you can send in an engineer and it will make money for you, I have also used an engineer to get paratroopers, thats the tech post thats a bit bigger and it has a patriot ontop to defend itself, my C nC online name is wilshoj.

We'll definately have to have a few battles !!!
 
Sounds great. I just started playing so I think we would have more fun teaming up against the computer as Alis. I would be way to easy to beat right now. My name is CB6902 or CB6901. We will have to think of a good night to hook up online. If you let me know in advance when you are on then I can try to arrange something.
-I have work during the day and school at night for the week. Tuesday and thursday night I am available after 6PM EST.
-Weekends are usually the best time for me. If you have yahoo IM or MSN IM you can get ahold of me with the GTP PM and I will contact you. 👍
Same goes with anyone else too. Mabey we can get a 3 or 4 some going. :)
 
Have any of you tried using spies? They can be very effective if you get one into the enemies:

Power plants - They loose all power for 1 minuite (good for attacking the base as most defences will be shut down)

Barracks - All Troops that you build will arrive with one promoted star.

War Factory - All Vehicles that you build will arrive with one promoted star.

The Technology buildings (Forget what they are called) - New troops such as Crazy Ivan or the fantastic US Navy seals

Ore Refinery - (This is the good one) YOU STEAL ALL THEIR MONEY!!!!

Is there somewhere in the game that lists what every character, machine, or building does?
PS I did send a spy out once and he was killed within a minute or 2 :lol:
I did learn if i put a mechanic in one of the vehicles he can safely ride over to the enemy base without being killed as easy.
I am also trying to get the shield at the bottom of the screen to work properly. I dont know how to tell if it is on or not. :scared:
 
To get the basic instructions to the game I re-insert the disc and I get the option on screen for all the info about all the men, units and buildings etc....
 
When you have a spy, select him and click on an enemy soldier. It will have the attack icon but the spy will just make himself look like that soldier. You can then wander into any base untouched. Guard dogs can sniff you out though so stay clear of them. Also beware of the enemies miner and tanks as they seem to ignore you as though you were not there. So if you stand infront of them, your spy will get flattened!!

I also found RA2 confusing on online play, and i just thought that those guys were insanely good online i didnt even think of cheats/mods/hacks...i heard that they had to be playing someone who has the same version as them for the hacks to work...anyway, i find that the all-might starcraft is a great game with easy interface, and considerably harder AI with almost fool-proof online play as well as very few hacks. highly recommended for those who have become fed up with RA2.
 
Or we could fire up C&C Generals and do a few battles.Fireing(sp?) off Nuclear Missles never ceases to amaze me.
 
My friend and I met online last night and we set it up to go against 3 other computer guys. That was a nice long fun game and we ended up winning!! :dopey: I will be on again this thursday night and it will be both of us and his girlfriend playing. :dopey:

Hearing the words "different server to get away from cheaters" is something I like the sound of - tell me more
 
I dont know a whole lot about it but just do the steps that is sais to to in there on the XWIS server.
Once you switch to that server you should see my name on there.
Step 1) Download the XWIS Connection tool , launch it and click "Set" This step will take less than a second.
Step 2) launch the game
If you go to "my Information" you will see XCC WOL IRC Server in your server list. make sure you select that. It is very easy and if you have MSN on then i can tell you right away in there. The whole process took less than 15-30 seconds to do then I was on the server. 👍
