Hi, GTP.

If you ask me, I'm damned sick of Enzyte commercials. Sick also of commercial breaks with nothing more interesting to show. This off-topic subject is one to talk about commercials overkilled on TV. To me, when I watch WWE Wrestling, they have the worst of the issues. All you ever see is Drakengard, Skittles, Snickers, Bowflex, Taco Bell, you go from there. I know how important commercials are, but when they are overkilled to the point where no other sponsors can do commercials.

Now for the most part, an endurance race on the Speed Channel can have the worst of it. The 12 Hours of Sebring kept having some commercials that are played so much that it gets to be overkilled (which is probably testament to why some people cannot stay through an entire race. I did pretty good with this year's race, but the commercials are different.

Here is your chance to say "they show too much of (commercial)!" We can't do anything about it, but mention overkilled commercials. And since this is an international chat, maybe you all around the world can talk about what tires you when you're watching TV and the same old commercials tire you to death.

All commercials with the exclusion of beer/spirits commericals suck hard. Maybe if the television stations would drop advertising prices so that companies could afford to make un-undercut adverts...

The "Enzyte" commercial is repetitive. It's on 2 or sometimes even 3 times in a row. It's that damned song that is annoying!

I feel your pain. During Raw seems to be the worst. They pound you with the same commercials over and over. So bad that I fell asleep. I think the last thing I saw was Edge talking about his upcoming match with Kane at Backlash.

Drakengard isn't even a good game, yet they advertise it like it was the best game ever.

In Finland we have 4 channels (you can have more with cable or a digitalt-box.. And many people have cable BTW). two of them don't have any commercials and the rest have commercials. there are commercial breaks after 15 minutes, except when there is a movie coming. Then they are after 30 minutes. They last for 6 minutes.

I'm definitely a strong supporter of banning TV commercials. Every year they get longer and crappier. First of all, almost no sales can be related to tv commercials anymore, because most people are smart enough to change the channel. So, give us back the years of wasted tv time, by the useless commercials. If they want to advertise so much, why don't they have their own channel? Jeesh, then we could avoid them by choice.

But toyo, that's the entire POINT of commercials. Who would want to wait around the TV, watching the commercial channel just to see something 30 seconds long?

I mean, isn't the entire point of a commercial to inform, to attract and to sell? Commercials are getting crappier by the year. I say, DON'T ban them, but at least make them not annoying? I can't sit down and watch TV peacefully without having to be bothered by an extremely annoying commercial.

the snicker ones don't really get old though. they make up new once like once a month, so you don't have to see them so much, and plus they are actually pretty funny (the first 10 times).

the skittles ones are just dumb. oh look its raining skittles.

viper zero-you said that drakenguard wasn't even a good game, does that mean that you have bought it. well thats the point right there. but seriously, how many people wouuld hear about these new games comming out if it weren't for the tv(i am assuming your all NOT computer nerds.)

Ask him if he'd be interested in paying a thousand dollars a month or more for commercial-free network TV service. I doubt it. But that money's got to come from somewhere.

Specialty shows like WWE or Speed Vision or whatever have specialized audiences, and so they attract a limited number of advertisers. So they fill the slots with multiple commercials, which is annoying.

Pretty much everything thats wrong with TV nowadays can be traced back to the fact that it is a business. The content of TV is, generally, almost completely mindless, image-driven and materialistic (though if you're watching RAW and stuff, Im guessing you dont find that part of it a huge problem) and the commercials have all the same problems, in addition to being loud, repetitive and annoying as hell.

I think one day we will have some sort of TV system more similar to the internet in the ways that people can broadcast shows. Obviously it costs a little more to make a TV show than to run a website, but I think thats pretty much our only hope at this point.

we have 5 :D

I now only watch movies on Digital movie channels (or DVD ofcourse) because I'm fed up of adverts every 15 minutes and occasionly the 10 o'clock news. Some adverts can be ammusing informing etc others completely brain numbing.
But can anyone answer why channel like Cartoon Network and Disney channel have 'adult' advertisements. E.g. Home insurance, Face cream

Very true, I guess I was just wide-eyed in my opinion. Only looking for the best outcome, I guess.

I have a simple theory regarding commercials. If I don't like an ad I see or hear (radio), I don't buy the product. For example, McDonalds' I'm loving it ads are played 24/7 and feature ridiculously annoying music. Due to the overall crappiness of their commercials, I don't go to their restaurants.

Radio is even worse for commercials than TV, the exact same ads are played every 15 minutes, with about 99% of the ads featuring people with annoying voices.

And I wonder who buys a company's products after being bombarded by their crappy ad a thousand times in a day? Perhaps they are targeting the average person in society who is actually entertained by the same lame joke time after time?

Good points. And when it comes to adult stuff, what is basically overkilled almost all the time is natural male enhancement. I mean, I am 21 years old with almost no kind of love life. I couldn't care less about male enhancement. Some commercials still never get old. Even that GM commercial on Speed with all them GM trucks being shown off. That's usually overkilled when Speed used to go to break. During the 12 Hours of Sebring, I can take the Mazda 3 commercials. But all the Odor Eaters I could somewhat handle. And then (non-related to Speed), the WWE shows overkilled Greyhound commercials, shown usually 2-3 times a break. But for watching WWE wrestling, the breaks last at least 3 minutes long. So if you can, change the channel, wait three minutes, then flash back.

Oh look... Stone Cold just stunned Christian. Ahh...

One of the many commercials I cannot stand is the one that advertises for a weight loss pill called "Cortizol" or whatever the heck it is called. The enzyte ones are worse though.

Well as someone who watches a lot of t.v. I to am sick of all the dumb commercials out there, and what I hate even worse then that is when a good one finally comes out they have to play them until I'm completely disguised with them. The ones I really hate is any cologne/perfume commercial, and those freaking Old Navy commercials.

I can't stand those Old Navy commercials either. Whoever made those commercials is not only a complete moron, but desperately needs a solid kick to the ass.

About 10 years ago, South Florida had a spate of roach-killer ads during the 6pm local news channels. Try eating dinner during these commericals showing an enlarged roach....well, it made watching SportsCenter during evenings acceptable, let's just put it that way.

Ads are repetitve during the same broadcast, because most people don't watch the entire show, they are just flipping through the channels half the time.

A repeated image makes an impression.

Oh, I forgot to mention. I said I disliked the Enzyte commercials. When I seen a Spike TV re-air of an episode of WWE RAW, check this.

You know that I'm not really a NASCAR fan. You know that I hate Enzyte Commercials and almost any commercial about male enhancement. Well, during the re-air of this one WWE RAW night, the commercial break started out with these Enzyte commercials featuring Smilin' Bob (needs to be beaten up) racing in stock cars. They started commercial breaks with that commercial for like, 3-5 commercial breaks in a row! The latest overkill nominee is the damned Dell commercials with that training camp crap. Welcome to the party, you overkilled bastard (can I say that on here?)!

Not to me. Some commercials are okay to "live with," but it's those few that get old very fast. You read my most recent inductee to that list. And when it comes to the GTPlanet logo, it isn't like it has Javascript codings so that no matter how far you scroll down or up that you'll still see "GTPlanet.net" in the top-left of your screen.

Since you dont like nascar then you wont like this commercial idea since as far as I know it originated from nascar. A few years back they had the commercials split 50/50 on the tv screen during the race so you would never leave any of the action on the track. To bad all TV stations didnt pick up on that, it was a good thing. The only bad part about it was that there was no sound from the race while the commercial was on.

Anyways wahhhh dear god if you dont like the commercial TURN the channel. I cant stand the enzyte or viagra commercials either, so you know what? I turn the channel to something else when they come on. By now you should know the commercial schedule raw uses, so you could turn the channel when the commercials start and turn back after 5 minutes. Its not like you'll miss anything important when watching wrestling if you turn it back a minute late.
