As far as I know, Standard cars were neccessary for GTPsP to be compatible with GT5.
GT5 is okay. I like it but it got boring a bit quicker for some reason.

Nope. Nothing is actually imported from GT PSP into GT5, nothing is ever imported from any game. All that happens is the game looks at your PSP save and sees which cars you have and then instantly unlocks those cars on the GT5 disc. There is nothing that says those cars need to be rubbish quality so I don't know where you got that idea.

Yes this is kind of what I feel...
Games being released and they are not finished...they've had 5 years if I'm correct to make GT5, dudes on 5 years they had a World War ffs...so making a game is easy life.
GT5 for me just aint worth the title nor the money.
Clipping all over the ****, shadows = big problem, damage modeling sucks and they've promised us when they'd implement it it would be near realistic...its not, its a joke.
I dont want to fix on how many cars or which tracks are in...but in GT4 1000cars, tracks everything was there the game was fantastic and 100% finished...GT5 lacks on cars because for me the standard cars are GT4 so **** them in GT5, I want premium cars because we know they can make them nice like they are I want 1000 premium cars simple actually I feel like I've paid to get 1000premium cars...
I want nice circuits I dont want GT4's polygon circuits, etc...
I agree its the best game on PS3 but lack of competition does not make it better, they have something to make right for GT6...
For me they've put 110% work in GT1 to GT3 150% in GT4 and 20% for GT5. I expect 200% for GT6

I agree with just about all of that.

I guess we all want different things out of GT5. Most of the list of the OP doesn't affect my enjoyment. Having a bunch of vanity customization options is not a biggie to me-just seems like fluff.

Saying this is the worst game in the series is ludicrous-how can you possibly compare the physics and visuals to a ps2 game? It's beautiful to view for the most part-awesome replays. But I agree that there's some aspects (shadows, scenery etc...) aren't that great.

So what's most important to me is the driving above all else. I'm very happy with the current physics especially now that on and offline are consistent. Turning off all driving aids and using proper tires feels believable now especially on proper tires and without any driving aids. I'm not in a situation to get another wheel to try Forza or put together a gaming computer so I'm limited in my comparisons to other ps3 titles.

I won't go into my complaint list but it would mainly be the lack of an event generator of some sort, a more advanced AI and more real world tracks. Oh and where did all the old tracks go!

My biggest problem with GT5 is that I don't think the fun there and it's gotten to the point where I have stopped playing all together. The game was very enjoyable when I first got it, but unfortunately that did not last very long. The main issue for me was the shallow A-spec mode. Compared to GT2-GT4 it feels very rushed and seasonals are nothing but a band-aid instead of a real fix to the career mode.

Are the physics the most realistic on the PS3? Yes. That's a great thing and I'll give it that. But realistic physics aren't my main priority when buying a racing game. I play anything that's arcade or sim as long as I think it's fun. If physics were my main concern I would have been playing PC sims a very long time ago. If there's no actual "game" in there for me to enjoy, I will not find it fun. It doesn't matter to me how good everything else is.

Eventually, I was driven to get a Xbox 360, Forza and a Fanatec and I gave away my DFGT to a friend who also owns GT5. It was a bit of a toll on my wallet, but it was more than worth it. When I got my Fanatec, I gave GT5 another chance to redeem itself but sadly, even a better wheel did not make the game exciting again.

I think they have improved with each version of GT however they could take a look at the UCD and maybe a community auction hall would improve the trading area's of the game and less restriction's.

Just started a new game and wow its a hassle with all the pop ups at the start and huge amount of cars at the start make it far too easy it should have been there only unlocked when you earn them or reach the car level's.

Great game with a huge selection of cars and a community that is like no other :)
