To conclude, if youre looking for a fast road car, and don't care about price, buy the Tommykaira ZZII, it's good in nearly every way exept speed, which can easily be tuned to go faster.

That's not a great point for a supercar in a racing game...

... but the Ford Gt is American, so instead of a six speed box, is has a five speed one, with very long gears making it slightly harder on the Nurburgring.

Not sure why american would ahve anything to do with it. Anyway the real life car has a 6-speed. Not sure what version of GT4 you are playing but that was a error in the game if yours only has 5-speed.

I have the American version of GT4 and i am pretty sure the Ford GT has 6 gears in that version.

I have the PAL version, lots of American cars have a five speed box (as far as I know)

EDIT : After TVR 350C had been added, I re-ran all the cars around the Nurburgring again so I could get a proper feel of what they were like, new times have been added to post #1

Ok, just ran around the Nür with the FOrd GT '05 and the Spirra.
The GT is rather smooth, powerful and quite agile, for a car that weighs as much as it does.
Turned in a time of 7:12.692 on SM.
The Spirra has a problems, for one it's a wanna be supercar, but rides like an economy model, this things suspension is it's downfall along with the fact that it's set to have lift off oversteer.
Turned in a time of 7:46.551, lots of over compensation for waterbed like ride.

If you want to drive the Spirra, change that suspension ad buy a better gearbox.

I could only get 7.20s with the GT but then I beat you with the Proto :)

I found that weird at first, then I went back again, the roly poly handling it was kept me from driving that thing as best I could. What a marshmallow that car is, and talk about sluggish acceleration.

Im really good with the Ford GT though, could have gone a lot faster, but messed up on a few parts which cost me follow through speed.

Next up, Lotus Esprit 350 and the Jaguar XJ220

SavageEvil - Can you not start up your own comparison in my thread please :)

ultrabeat - You've reminded me to spend more money on an r390 :(

george i was wondering itf you where going to pt the GT-Rs in the main post of this place. and to anyone who says the GT-R is not a supercar the fact that it can pull those times if on that HP ios proof of the abnility of those and in the hands of a better driver it would be even greater.

I'd realised that they are Tuner Cars not production so I can't.
Sorry :(

Is the Spyker a supercar aswell, will I have to spend more money?

what about the Dodge Viper SRT-10 and the Mercedes-Benz SL65AMG?? i would like to see them in, if it is possible for you......

viper

viperpilot
what about the Dodge Viper SRT-10 and the Mercedes-Benz SL65AMG??

1) Im low on cash
2) I'm worried about the length of post #1, if a mod says its ok I'll add them soon

Post 1 can be as long as it needs to be, theres no rules as long as your not babbling rubbish in it, which your not and there's far longer posts than yours on this site.

Post 1 can be as long as it needs to be

Ok, I'll add viper and spyker soon not the sl65 since I think its a class below supercar

TVR 350C
The gearing on this car is all wrong, when corrected it is much faster than 160, 180+ in fact, which closer to the real thing. But we ALL know this game is badly flawed, still good though.

Yes the gears are strange

Gear 1 - 0-40
Gear 2 - 40-51

But I still love it
:)

I was thinking of making a thread like this but on hot hatches, do you think theres any point?

I rather the Griffith 500 over the 350C because to me it seems to have a even weight disturbution such as the Miata (Best handling street car under 30,000 in game) and is lighter than the 350C.
I love the Ford GT but on nurburgring it does bounce around quite alot making it diffulcult to keep on the track espically in the 2nd half after first enbankment.
Hey do you think you can add an old school car like the Shelby Cobra it has a top speed of 165 I think but has one of the best 0-400M times in the game

I like the Griffith more because I like it's looks more, the wieght on both of them is a non-issue really, they're both really light. The T350C is the better performer but the Griffith is a more fun car to drive in GT4 imo.

The best car is the M5, it's definatly the best sounding car in the game, and it's flipping fast too!

But it loses to every supercar in the game...Sure its really fast, but a ubersedan is not going to beat purist supercars.

@George: The TommyKaira ZZII is not a road car. It is a concept car, so it should not be in this competition.

Oh, I will remove it later, and I'll add some old school supers instead of it

I wouldn't remove, just put a note next to it, it'd be a shame to jsut delete the data you wrote on it.

The TVR's "bad handling" isn't down to bad handling, but because of something else you noted... Once it has actually gained traction, somewhere around 4th gear and 120mph+, it has more acceleration than the gravity well of a black hole, and you end up arriving at your next corner a hell of a lot faster than you think - resulting in monumental understeer, which if you try to correct with throttle ends in understeer AND oversteer at the same time...

That said, my time for it on Trial Mountain on S2s is slower than my M5 time.

i agree with u
