can an 80 meg video file be compressed to around 5 megs and look ok?

ok. so i'll have to redo it. thing is i heard that compression reduces quality, but the quality is not great to begin with. i used ati for capture

to get something from 80 to 5, you would need to resize it and drop image quality over 200%+

Well, it's using ati in composite mode. 6.55 bitrate, 1:30 plus long file. 80 emotion something. mono sound. 44 something kb on the sound

the image quality needs to be good since it's already blurry enough.

could any of u resize a 760mb file for me to under 700mb so i can put it on a CD-R. I got scarface (great quality and close to 3 hours of a 640pixel width movie)

I wouldn't... Ati is a fine program to do it with... I do everything in it. You just need to use the MPG codecs that are supplied with it and your card, that way you get really small file sizes....
