So, if you have seen my other threads I am building a computer for the first time. I like in the UK, and found all the insides of the pc on and american website(its got good reviews etc so thats fine).
However, will I need to buy i power supply from the uk because of the different voltages?

Also, if I buy a power supply from the uk and the rest from america, will it all still work together or will there be some incompatibility somewhere along the line?
Answers as always highly appreciated.
Thanks

As long as your PSU is right for the UK you'll be fine. Computer parts are all 12v/5v, the PSU takes care of converting whatever voltage the power is coming in at.

I tend to think most PSUs have a voltage switch on them as well, but buy it in the UK just to be sure.

Why not buy everything in UK? You might miss out on warranty support and it could cost you more to buy from the USA due to getting taxed on the items when they come into this country and get delivered to you. Delivery costs also normally are higher. Remember to get a Sandy bridge system, something with i3 2100 or better as then you can upgrade to Ivy Bridge cheaply in a few months if you get a motherboard that is compatible.

Not being funny mate but why on earth are you intent on buying from the US?

Have a look here: Overclockers UK. I use these all the time; good prices, excellent delivery times and a very, very helpful forum. Highly recommended. :)

Well to be honest the only reason I was thinking of buying from the US is because it was the only place I could find that sells parts individually, I know its not ideal, but I will take a look at that link greeze-thanks alot. :D

Most good power supplies have a selector switch for 110V-220V on the back anyway making them suitable for world wide use.

I always go to aria.co.uk, never ever had an issue with them. Very quick delivery, and decent prices all the way through. The guys know what they're on about too.

I usually get my stuff from ebuyer.com - I'd be very surprised if you can find better prices elsewhere for most stuff.
