Computer Drifting - Interesting Easter Egg

Recently I've been trying to beat all of the endurance events to get money for drift cars, win cool cars, and increase my completion percentage. So when I get tired of racing my Nissan R92 Racecar, I put it in B-Spec mode. My B-Spec driver's pretty damn good by now, and it's the Nurburgring 4 Hour Endurance, all stock M3s and Mustangs and the like. So when I was racing I pitted on Laps 4 and 8, then put it on B-Spec mode during the second pit stop. I come back to it after taking a shower and it's on lap 13... with DARK RED rear tires, and yellows up front, and barely any gas in the tank. So, at first, I was pissed, but then I realized, with that little gas it must be 40 or 50 kg lighter than with a full tank, and with red rear tires and yellows up front and the computer set on steady...

IT DRIFTED EVERY CORNER!

Whether or not spun out after the corner is a totally different story, but he was countersteering and everything! Pretty sick drifts 👍 :dopey: 👍

So if any of you get really bored, try sending your 1158 hp Nissan R92 racecar to Nurburgring 4 Hour Endurance, put the Hard Sports Tires on, wait until 4 laps is over with, and watch the 5th lap, hehehe.

You mentioned the b spec ai being "pretty good by now". The ai doesnt actually improve does it? It just races at the general aggresiveness you set it to I thought. If the gt AI really had the ability to learn from how you drive (a la virtua fighter 4) and incorporate that in its style i seriously doubt the normal ai of cars would suck so horribly, as that kind of AI coding would need to be very advanced. Just wondering.
Ill have to try what you said there by the way burnout.

What I do to train my driver and earn a bunch, is enter my F1 car in the Fuji 1000km endurance race. Total winnings are about 1.5 million and it keeps my driver busy while I'm at work/school..

those are my thoughts as well.

all of my "b-spec" setups are heavy on the driver assists... i figure if it makes it hard for me to drive with them on, the computer must be better at it... and they really do spin out less with them on ive found.

infact my AC cobra is faster with the b-spec driver @ circuit de la sarthe than i am... with the horrible computer settings of course :sly:

Anyone know a good way to build up B-Spec points? I was thinking about doing the 24H Nuremburg, but 24Hs (or even 8Hs on 3X mode) stills seems like a long azz time :boggled:.

Nope, it goes for Beginner to Proffesional, the more you use B-Spec the better your driver gets.

I've got over 7000 B-Spec Mileage, and my driver never, I mean never has lost a race.

wow, b-spec learns? gotta train it then huh?

Just like Pikachu in Pokemon Yellow. 👍 👍

To build up my B-Spec points I basically played the game until I had the AMG Mercedes CLK GTR Racecar. With Stage 4 turbo it's got, like, 1058 HP and can win 5 or 6 of the endurance events in B-Spec mode. So far I've done 9 out of the 16 endurance races and all 9 were in B-Spec. That increased all of my driver's skill points by 15-20, all currently 70-80.

I basically use B-Spec to win events, then use the money to fuel my drifting addiction 👍

yeah same here, as soon as I got to the endurance races, I gave up on racing. Now I just b-spec to get money and then build drift cars.I got over 8000 B-spec points now.

Hehe, looks like I'm not the only one 👍 :dopey: 👍

I got like 8000 or 9000 b spec points too, hehe. Just hit over 1,000 miles in B-spec mode, and only 800 miles in A-spec, it's because of all those damned endurance races though.

Yeah, b-spec rocks. Every time it gets done with a race that took it 9 minutes b-spec driver time, i think "wow, i just saved 6 minutes of my life!"

IMHO i think b-spec mode is cool and all for the endros and what not...but im only like 40.0% done with the game and im bored with it >.> i cant even win half of the extreme events but whatever guess ill have to find some way around it but cool easter egg imma try that and see what happens

Haha, you're so right. The B-spec does eventually get better, to the point where I can put it on Fast and Overtake and walk away from it until the end of the race. But it's still no substitute for actually racing the car yourself, as far as lap times are concerned.

And for some reason, no matter how good my B-Spec driver is, there's still a few corners in the game where he ****s up EVERY LAP. It's really frustrating. The only example I can think of is, like, the 3rd or 4th turn at Infineon. It's a sharp right-hander that goes over a hill, my car's in the grass every lap on the turn, regardless of speed and regardless of what car.

Very annoying! 👎

LOL That's what I do!!! Sweet isn't it?

yeah i know what your talking about...that horrible lil S symbol and your car flying off of the track....just when you get to the turn run the car at 2 (cruise) or 1 (slow down) and this should take care of the problem......did for me

flip_kc: Hahahaha! The only way to play GT4 :sly:  It's a great strategy, lol. Tried and true!

Keiro: I hadn't tried using slow down yet for that corner, but that's a good thing to know for the shorter races. It's that damned Infineon 200 race, can't watch B-Spec for THAT long, making sure it doesn't **** up that corner. Thanks for the advice though 👍 I'm sure it will come in handy the next time I race there, heh, save a good 4 or 5 seconds PER LAP.

oh you mean that good ol 2 hour and 45 min one? im doing that one now acutally... im 48 mins into it....but like always i found out something else thats cool, if you run like Racing Hard back and Racing Medium front you get better and longer runs before you pit well good luck!

My b-spec driver allways ****s up the corkscrew at Laguna Seca. Every damn time no matter what. I can have it on 1 and he will still fly off the track there.

yep, ehhh. My driver always slams into the wall where there is a 90 degree right just after the straightaway in New York and ALWAYS loses by a landslide.

The only damn problem if you wanna speed up time, when it pits it's view changes to a normal replay view, and as a result it runs in normal time now, so EVERY pitstop it makes you have to go to racing stats. display and speed up the time, AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!!!!! I think that's a reason why you were on only lap 13:indiff:

Is there anyway to turn this off?? If so, how??

Hey did you try drifting that AMG Mercedes CLK GTR Race car in B-spec mode in Nurburguring man it is sick. But I'd say that's a cool easter egg ehh.

I love watching my Audi R8 drifting the El Capitan 200 mile. I was quite suprised that my driver could drift so well and hold it for the entire corner. On a side note my driver is able to take the corkscrew at Laguna Seca Raceway on medium pace (3).

I wonder if just putting N1 or N2's on your car for B-Spec would make the driver drift... ?

Never really thought about it, I only use B-spec for endurances and championships. Maybe I'll give it a try on this lazy sunday afternoon.

haha..imagin how good..it can drive with those n1 or n2 tires..and you are telling to push it..and your b-spec stats are 100 100 100...if the driver is gona drift..i wana see how good its gona be..lol
