I need to be able to confirm I've visited a place for an upcoming World Record attempt I'll be undertaking and I've been told by Guninness I will need to submit my evidence using Keyhole Markup Language (KML file) on Google Maps or Earth (I'll use Mobile Maps) but have no idea how I can use these to prove I am in a particular place.

I've been on Google and read their info and also Wiki'd all about it. The web doesn't seem to provide an informative answer to how I would log a KML file to be used as evidence that I was in a certain location so I can send it off as confirmation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Apparently (I'll include their exact specifics when I dig up their PDF) I'm supposed to use KML file to show that I'm actually in the place I say I am, but how I go about doing this is beyond me.

I'm aware that it will probably involve some kind of GPS data which I'm prepared to learn how to use, but right now I haven't the faintest idea of what to do.
 
I'm using Android, one of the latest versions, I don't know which one.

I did come across that page but was kind of baffled by what it had to say, I'm not much of a technology buff. I have time this weekend to go through it properly and I think I might have to get a computer guy in to help me work it out.

I'll also just try and see what happens when I do something to something.

I think what you could be needing is some kind of a GPS-position logger... Now, there's probably many apps for this, but here's what Google came up with.. It should be possible to export the logged data as the .KLM file GWR requests. - I must say, I haven't tried this application myself, and it's really beyond my knowledge how a .KLM file can be proof, but still - good luck!
