Yeah but they were contemporaries as this is supposed to be the replacement for the Challenger, or did I miss something. I don't follow MOPAR to much.

Sounds like you were expecting an entirely new car.

It looks exactly like a Challenger with different tail lights and grille...

Once again the synopsis of the original car and various other makes around family makes around the world.

They shared the same platform even though one ran on slightly smaller platform. Also it's ironically the Barracuda was made as the pony equivalent against the Mustang and Camaro, so thus a more fitting rival I'd say and keeping in line with history.

Didn't they kill these motions years ago? And anyway, the 'Cuda would have to be a new car for it to be worth it. Like has been said, the Challenger is big (not a barge but bigger than the other two) but you would also have to blend old 'Cuda touches into the new car, not as easy when there are three distinct variations at least. Lastly it was supposed to be an SRT, and going by the local dealers, an actual dedicated SRT showroom isn't happening.

While I'd hate to see the Challenger go... the return of the 'Cuda would be incredible... 👍

Sadly, I can't see the pics posted here... internet blocker @ work is back :indiff:

New renders...

I think that Dodge needs to make the Challenger look even more like the old one, even though there is quite a bit of resemblance. The new one just looks like it got old and gained weight. They also really need to make the Charger look like the old one. They are so different looking. I say do these two things and they don't need a new car.

Had these cars been around continuously, the Challenger probaby wouldn't look like the old car at all. The Charger, besides becoming a four door, would probably look like it does now somewhat.

I'd prefer than to lazy and ugly retrofication. I think they should all forget what the old car looked like and design a modern car. What would these car look like if they never left production? It's silly to me that they have too look like something from 40 years ago, especially with the negative performance impact it brings.

I don't think that dodge will be able to make the cuda, especially loosing their spot in NASCAR then stating that they couldn't afford to make their own team after penskie racing dropped dodge but who knows they might make the new cuda into like a 200c R/T instead of copying the challenger

Cuda has and never had anything to do with NASCAR

O and the "CUDA" idea for Dodge is basically dead... its a possiblilty that the Avenger nameplate will continue on a RWD D segment car.

Ok, now I can see the renders...

Hmmm... looks like someone with some spare time made good use of it...

You see, I didn't knew about that prototype 'Cuda on the other page, and well, it doesn't look that bad... but I would expect more from the Mopar boys than just a rebodied Challenger... I understand the original Challenger and 'Cuda were sister cars in the past, but I doesn't have to be that way with the the "new" ones ...

Still, I think that the Challenger has a few good years behind it's back...

Just my 3 cents...
