Just a suggestion (sorry if brought up before):

How about making a general "Racing Forum" like before. The F1 forum doesn't have all that much action (maybe 4-5 live threads at a time during the season), and the Rally and Other section rarely have much going on at any one time.

I vote to put them all together; less searching and page loading (56k over here) and easier to find. Likewise, the "sports" forums could probably get the same treatment.

Don't get me wrong, I like racing as well as other sports, but it would make things easier to navigate and (probably) less overhead on your part.

Anyone else agree?
 
It would be good, especially if thread starters had the discipline to put the sport at the head of the title, i.e. "F1: Jaguar sack Lauda".

Obviously, this is something the mods could do, but they have enough work as it is.
 
But real F1 fans would know that Lauda/Jaguar is relevant to F1; that talking about Talledega is relevant to NASCAR, et cetera.

I don't think it would take much on everyone's part to contruct meaningful thread topics, instead of misleading and ambiguous titles like: "I have a question..." or "Do you...", or "What is..."

We don't get that much trash in the racing/sports forums, anyhow; so thread titles shouldn't be a big deal (unless one is talking about something very obscure).
 
True, but I think that it would be easier, especially for newer users who weren't so accustomed to the general topics of conversation, and deducing the formulae involved.

I do agree on the general lack of quality of some of the thread titles throughout GTP though.
 
I understand your point exactly, pupik, but I think it is better to have the forums organized into such a way that allows you to view all threads over a specific topic together. If you bunched them all up, only for the sake of activity, I think it would clutter things up a bit too much and perhaps stifle what little thread creativity a particular topic may have.
