I once got up to 90 MPH (144.81 km/h) on a trafficless 2 lane road near my house. Also I tried to do burnouts in an FWD car, with a bit of success. :guilty: (in case you're wondering, the transaxle's still working normally)

105mph in my E30 several times, late at night on the interstate. 110mph once, after I removed the roof rack.

Speeding along curvy country roads in the valleys of southeastern Wisconsin...

Drifting, regardless of whether traffic is around, in the rain and snow...a tight onramp that is a part of my commute from work to home is a frequent target... :trouble:

Averaging about 85mph to and from a friend's house in a city over 60 miles away. On the most recent trip, the drive out there took place on a foggy night. I was doing 100mph when my best friend and I noticed red and blue lights illuminating the fog in the sky. I slowed down, and we passed by a couple cop cars that had pulled over someone.

Which on-ramp is your usual target? I like going down Rimrock Rd eastbound and linking that up with the John Nolen exit, staying in the exit lane.

FWD "peg-leg" Burnouts are fun both to do and to watch, because you feel like an ass doing one and when youre watching one...

Although I did seen an impressive burnout done by a MKIII Jetta GLX VR6, was better than the Mustangs and Thunderbirds that attempted to do one...

From Highway 30 -- otherwise known as Aberg Ave. -- northwest-bound, onto East Wash. :trouble: The one with the "recommended speed" of 25mph. My car can take it at more than 40 before the front tires even start to complain.

That's a great (!) ramp, I can usually get about 40 or so out of it... it's a shame its such choppy pavement though... I gotta head to work, I might take it today. :D

Doing over 80 on a slushy dual carridgeway and overtaking everyone (Most were nearly in middle of the road... didn't feel dangerous at the time as I felt I had a reasonable amount of grip. Slowed down a little after seeing police dealing with an accident on the other side. :nervous: Seems abit dumb now though, lateness must of over-ridden common sense!

Also had my first 'crash' that day too, I hit a plant pot at about 1mph when skidding straight on (God knows how) around a very tight hairpin, on a hill whilst doing about 10mph. All hail the absence of gritters!

not much of a sin but I've only been driving for a month. On I-95 my mom told only to go 70 at max, but I pushed it to 80. I can't stand being the slow person on the road gettin passed left and right.

I would like to give you a personal thank-you for not being the asshole that sits in the left lane and does the speed limit, no matter WHAT.

 Your welcome. I can't stand anyone like that. To top it all of they're are just oblivious to everyone who passes them and gives em a look as to say move the hell over.

...I forgot about the time I was driving from Grand Rapids to Manistee on Northbound 131 in a 2002 Tahoe LT mirroring a 2003 Mustang SVT Cobra bouncing off the limiter somewhere near 100MPH... Not safe, but fun for the 20mins or so that I let him lead and attract the cops while I picked up the pace...

We've got it bad. Wisconsin is infamous for that type of driving. :indiff:

T5-R's sin reminded me of another one -- during this winter's (very brief :grumpy: ) snowy period, I was speeding all around at "normal" speeds while everyone else was at a crawl. In one situation, I was on a wide, curvy, residential "3-lane" road with a left-turn-lane down the middle, stuck behind some person in an buick or something who was positively petrified of having an accident, going 15mph in a normally 30mph zone. It was the middle of the night and we were the only cars on the road, so I just moved over and passed them using the turn lane.

When I drive to and from university at Portsmouth, back to home (near Bristol) I sometimes go through Sailsbury or take the M4 via the A34.

Anyone who has used the A34 at about 2 in the afternoon in the summer, on a weekday will know there is hardly any trafic, if it's a nice dry day I drive around 90mph usualy, but its too tempting not to push it up to 110-115mph for a minute or two every now and then :). (120 i think my car tops out, the speed freak i am, i know i shouldnt really, but i'd probably go much faster if i had the hardware) /shakes head

Then going Sailsbury way, there is a nice straight dual carrigeway about 3-4 miles long coming into Sailsbury (south), its usualy pretty empty during the summer, you can go over 100 the whole length quite comfortably, there are speed camera signs, but in 2 years there's never been one parked up, you could spot them a mile off anyway.

130mph in my Honda Civic on M74 from larkhall to hamilton - amp88 seems aquainted with this motorway, i put my sunroof fully back - electric of course and my friend stuck his head out to feel the wind, i then applied the window washers with loads of screen wash and his eyes were stinging for ages - he didnt get too much in his eyes tho cos he could hardly keep them open at 130!

Yep, no doubt. I remember the first time I was on the M74 I was in the Escort with my mate in the passenger seat and was chasing another mate in front in his Punto. We were doing just over 100 when I saw the road markings for the speed camera. Since it was the first time I'd been on it, I thought there was a camera there, so I slam on the brakes. The amount of dive in the nose was crazy at that speed. Only afterwards did my mate say there hasn't ever been a camera there (but my brother says the police occasionally sit on the bridge close to there (but they stay out of view of the people coming downhill, only covering the outside lane)). My brother's also done an indicated 125mph up the hill in his Primera and 132 (or 134, can't remember) downhill.

Cool story, 130 is good going in a Civic!

I got a picture of my speedo at 127mph, didnt think i would get any more out of it (after all it is only a 1.4) nut it managed to edge to 130, i had took a video too but because i have a Sony Ericsson K700 i hit the back button instead of stop!

I have hit that speed there on numerous occasions on the M74 in my car, my friends 106 GTI and my other friends MK5 Fiesta Zetec-s.

At the bottom motorway junction at Larkhall on the fly over the police normally sit on the bridge, one day i came from the top larkhall junction and thats where the large sweeping bend is i was doing 130 i had 4 people in the car (me, two of my mates and one of their girlfriends) when we passed the flyover i seen the lights going on, the hamilton junction is only 2 - 3 miles further on so by the time they had come down the slip road and started chase, but by this time i was nearing the hamilton slip road and could see their lights in the distance, so i get to the hamilton sliproad but i take the right lane to motherwell and i head towards strathclyde park and the lights are at red, i stopped at the lights and we look behind and the police car was coming round the big sliproad to motherwell (not to mention it was the mercedes traffic police car), lights go green i went left into strathy - down about 100 yards, onto the grass and lights off, when we looked behind the police car had went right up towards wishaw!

That was the scariest experience of my life! But hillarious afterwards!

I've wondered about cutting off at Hamilton and getting rid of the police before but I thought at the time that you'd have to be going pretty quickly to ditch them. Seems 130 is quick enough then! No surprise you were bricking it, I know I would be too.

Well because they were actually on the flyover and not sitting on the sliproad it would have took them alot longer to start chase and get up to speed, i dont even know how fast their mercedes is, 155mph? I mean apart from a few trucks the road was empty and it was night time, so i dont see why they wouldnt have been hitting full speed.

They must have been though, i would have been around a mile and a half infront of them by the time the got onto the motorway, and by the time i got to strathclyde park the were about 1/4 - 1/2 mile at the motherwell sliproad!

130 isnt very fast its how long it takes to get there that counts hell i had an 89 toyota tercel that had a whole 79 hp that would hit 120

There's a difference between 120mph, and an indicated 120...

Physics and horsepower versus air drag says that Tercel was doing 100-105 tops, unless it was modified or going down a hill.

My civic doesnt take long at all to get to 120/5, getting to 130 however 👎

And i agree 130mph isnt that fast - but its impressive for a 1.4 sohc.

I've done stupid stuff in the past, all of the below in the Skyline (not much else i've done).

1. Three or four 175 km/h runs (doesn't take long at all to get there either...) before always backing off
2. Drag racing a Honda Accord on the motorway (bet him)
3. Drag racing a Nissan Primera from the lights (bet him)
4. Drag racing a 4WD Mitsubishi Lancer GSR from the lights in the wet (bet him)
5. Drag racing a Holden Commodore from the lights (bet him)
6. Trying to get the car sideways in the wet one day (a couple of years back) - ended up 'doorslamming' up the road, but didn't hit anything

Plus a few other minor things. In saying that, my Police record is, and always has been, 100% clean and i no longer race cars, do high speed runs or anything else like that.

...and i no longer race cars, do high speed runs or anything else like that.

I think doing that sort of stuff is something you generally get out of your system within the first couple of years after passing your test - people who carry on driving like that usually wind up dead.

I got my licence 4 years ago, and I drive quite a bit slower than I used to... I just attack the occasional on or off ramp now and then.

I took both driver side tires off my car at the same time... took a left poorly and hit the curb... good thing it was in an old-a**ed Oldsmobile Omega!!

driving past a cop on a 45mph road going 75 rushing to get home to get a paper so i could go to the detroit autoshow! i think he was sleeping though because he/she did not move. i about lost control of my bodily functions after that one.

a couple weeks ago i just got my 88 golf GTI 16 valve, its peppy, especially compared to my old painfully slow civic, i went for my little back road drive that i know pretty well, and a freakin' deer ran across the street during one of the straights, i try not to pass 70mph now..... back there.

the gti hits 115 without much complaining, i lifted because gas is too expensive for me to be burning it like that <8- \

According to my mileage gauge, I get about 10-11mpg at 110mph.

Hiding from the cops.

140kph up a hill to meet a cop at the top. Look in the mirror to see him slam on the brakes just as he disappears down the other side. Quickly turn right into an empty drive way (about 20m long) and turn off the lights...

He shoots right past with lights and sirens going.

IMO getting caught trying to run or hide is much worse than the original offense. :indiff:

Once, while driving home from Rice High School in my dope Civic DX, I pulled up to this wack sukka in a Camaro SS who I knew wanted a piece of me. Since I could barely see over the steering wheel cause I had my seat-back so low, I pulled myself up to the window to give him my 'let's race' sneer/head bob (also to show him my stoopid fly sideways ball cap). Then I revved a couple of times in case he didn't get the point... I know he was swettin when he heard those angry bees in my exhaust. So I slid the shifter from 'D' to '2'... I meant bizniss! The light went green... BEEAAAMMMM... pullin hard to redline... those bees sound pissed off!!! Good thing my aluminium wing is givin me some downforce, or I'd be in trouble! We're nose to nose as I put it in '3'... perfect shift!! Time for my secret weapon... I hit the NAWS!! BEEAAMMM!!! Startin to pull on this sukka... but damn he's still stayin wit me... Into 'D'.... almost missed it into 'N'... damn, this foo is comin up on me now. Good thing the next light is red. As we pull up to da light, I pull myself up and give him the thumbs up... yo, I taught that guy a lesson, don't F with a wigger in a Civic, especially if you're driving a Camaro and don't even know you're "racing".
