There is talk in the car list thread that Jaguar has confirmed that the ‘88 car is in. I doubt that the silk cut advertising will be included.
You never, know, PD may include it, but with other advertising - ie Jordan F1 were once sponsored by Benson and Hedges. Because ciggie sponsorship was banned in certain countries, they painted a snake's or hornet's head on the nosecone and changed the 'Benson and Hedges' sponsorship to some rather imaginaite names like 'Bitten and Hisses', 'Buzzin' Hornets' and 'Ssssschuey Fisssssi and Hisssss'. So PD may come up with something imagainitve to replace Silk Cut.

The car I would like to be added is the Mercedes Benz CLR a.k.a "Flying Flip Machine". Though it did it's nail bitting flying flipping act they should add it to GT4. It would be a nice car, but I would think it's very dangerous to test. Oh, and did they ever fix the problem with the aerodynamics or they just scrapted? Anyways it's still a cool car. 👍

That isn't the CLK-GTR but it's ugly brother named CLK-LM that wasn't really good like the flying CLR ;)

Useful pics for comparison fruitcake…thanks for the clarification.👍 I will PM a mod in order to amend the poll.

I voted vor the BMW V12, because I like it, but I'd like to see the Peugeot 905 like someone posted above... The 905 Spider would be great, but the LM Proto wold be better :)

While I am happy to see the inclusion of open seater prototypes in GT4 I gotta say the one I want to drive the most, yet don't see here (but remember reading about it being in GT4?) is the Rothmans Porsche 956.

The 1982 and 83 models are below.

I also want to drive the Alfa Romeo Competizione 33 TT 12 (Mario Andretti's 1975 car)...also shown below (not the best picture). It looks a bit goofy in the picture but I got to see it last week in person and it is stunning.

It's in Forza, if that's any consolation...

I really hope the '88 Le Mans Jaguar is in there, it really kindled my interest in motor sports and encouraged me to blag my dad to take me and my lil' brother to the race in '89.

With the Panoz GTR1 of course being in GT3 it must be likely that we can see the LMP1 in GT4 can't we? I'd love to see that, and a few more open top LMP's. Although personally I do prefer the closed LMP's.

Also what about the Lancia group C?
And a definate must is teh 91 Jaguar XJR-14!!! That better be in there otherwise I won't be happy!! If they can have an XJ9 then they can have an XJR-14.
Little tit bit fact for you here, but correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Porsche ('97 open top LMP) chassis was based on the XJR-14 chassis, that's how good it was. And also I think the Judd V10 was based on the Jaguar V10 that was in it supposedly 👍 . Phenominal car, which sounded phenominal. Would have all of those cars in that list...........ok.....well maybe not...........don't quote me on that...

I think I mentioned this in the other Le Mans LMP poll, but this website:

http://racingsportscars.t35.com/

Is a virtual encyclopaedia on Le Mans racers. It's got all the cars listed in the polls and some mostly-decent photos so you can see what they look like.

Sauber Merc C9 should be good. Didn't Michael Schumacher test that car one time? And he raced the subsequent C291 and C11.

Thought I would transfer this post from the obscure ‘who can read Japanese' thread for those who missed it.

Here are the Nissan prototypes PD have tested/photographed:

GTP-ZXT (new pd photos)
NPT90 (new pd photos)
R89C (seen in game)
R90CP (pal prologue ending movie)

If PD includes some of the Toyota equivalents to the Nissans (most likely) we will be seeing cars such as the 88C, and the TS010(GT-one’s predecessor)

Also of note: Cerbman1 has been in contact with Jaguar who has confirmed that the XJR9LM ‘88 has been tested by PD for inclusion.

KY has modelled the two ugly merc LMs.:ouch: Hope CLR and C11 turn up. Far easier on the eyes.

Got any shots of the CLR and C11 by any chance?

Interesting, Samberto. One of those attachments is of the forerunner to the JGTC, the All Japan Sports Prototype Car Chamionship ... I wonder if that's going to be a separate calss of racing?

I thought those were the LMs he mentioned. And rg2j, that Denso looks like one of the All-Japan Prototype Cars like one in Samberto's posts. If that's in, it looks like that is shaping up to be a separate class alongside JGTC ...

Do you race?

The Denso car is the Toyota 87C. Versions of the car raced at lemans and in the Japanese proto championship. It is the fastest 2.0 4 cylinder car we may ever see…
Mark my words...there will be a Toyota group C car in GT4.

See below with Minolta sponsorship.

I believe I read that he was part of a team of junior drivers in Lemans who shared a C9. I can't rmemeber there results but I remember it being positive. Maybe good qualifying or something.

...apart from the 1400bhp Brabham BMW F1

Storm GT1in GT4? Isn’t the green/yellow Lister a GT2 class car?
Yes, the GT1 car was flashier and faster, you're right, this is the GT2 car.

I wonder what's the reason they always pick this car. Did it win a famous race or championship?

I'm also almost sure PD has its weight wrong (way too heavy), that's the reason why it's not competitive. In GTC I applied the weight reduction of the Granturismo Skyline AI pace car on it (mk's program), so that it came to +/- the correct weight, and suddenly it became a hot car to race ...

The Lister Storm is heavy when compared with the GTS-R and the C5-R, yet I think that you’ll find that is closer to road going spec…hence the weight. I have used the MK program to bring it into line with the other GT2 cars; the problem is that it makes it oversteer happy with all that torque and so little weight over the rear wheels. Hopefully one of the highly modified Storms such as the ‘97 Adidas makes an appearance.

God, with all of these great LEMANS cars I think it would be a shame if they didn't include Lemans track.

All those Prototype C cars are pretty cool.If you happen to have F1 Challenge 99-02 you should download the Prototype C mod.It has almost any Prototype car.I especially like the 787B.Damn that thing is fast.I saw the images of these cars in this thread and they are all in the mod looking exactly like that.
Most of those cars can clock around 320-360 on the Mulsanne straight on Le Mans.I sure wish some of them are included in GT4,not counting the 787B.

Forgive my ignorance, but having seen the class C cars, what are classes A and B? Do they exist?

Now don't quote me 100% on this but it'll give you an idea...

Group A : A production based car that produced 5000 examples worldwide over a production run of 12 consecutive months. This model was allowed to have 500 or more units that were basically 'homologated' with parts that they'd need if they went racing ;)
Think difference between Ford Sierra RS5000 and Ford Cosworth Sierra RS500

Group B : Only 200 production units, and you were allowed 20 'special units' for 'racing purposes'. The FIA didn't think that manufacturers would go to the hassle of making only 200 examples of a model (because of profit etc), but they did and they were something that we all miss!!!

RIP - Porsche 959, Ferrari 288 GTO Evoluzione, Ford RS200, Peugeot 205 T16 Evolution 2, Lancia Delta S4, Lancia Monte Carlo 037, Rover Metro 6R4, Renault R5 Turbo 2, Audi Sport Quattro S1, that's just the well known ones...
