Should I buy a 360 and Forza 3 instead of a PS2 and GT4?

  • Yes, the Forza 3 experience is definitely worth the extra money.

  • No. Forza 3's great, but it's not worth the extra cost. Get GT4.

Ok, so right now I have no consoles. I was thinking about buying a PS2 and GT4 to keep me occupied until GT5 comes out. But... I have the money to buy a 360 and Forza 3. And while I know GT4 is an awesome game, Forza 3 looks really good too... and certainly more modern.

So... to those who've played both... should I spend the extra money to get a 360+Forza 3 instead of a PS2+GT4?

I probably won't be playing Forza 3 online if I did get it, but I do have an HDTV, so... help! I can't choose!

Edit: I've chosen. 360 + Forza 3 it's gonna be. Thanks for the help deciding!

I vote FM3.

Only problem is DFGT is a good budget wheel and would go great with a PS2/PS3, GT4 and future GT5 but I guess you're using a joypad. I'd rather buy a DFGT over an MS and wheel and stick to GT if you're short on money.

It's a shame the only option is the limited Fanatec Turbo S wheel. There really needs to be a middle ground for wheel choice on 360.

Yeah, I thought about that... If I went with the PS2 and GT4, I could also get the DFGT since I plan on getting a wheel for GT5 anyway.

But I've never used a wheel for racing games, so it's not like I'd feel something was missing if I went the Forza 3 route.

I think I'm gonna go with Forza 3. Probably the biggest concern of mine really is the track selection... but I'll risk it. I'm not as familiar with Forza's tracks, but who knows? It might even be nice to get away from the familiar GT tracks and discover something new.

Sedona track is brilliant, lots of flowing and undulating. Montserrat reverse is very interesting. Nordschleife is really nice looking, good draw distance. Fujima is a lot of fun. Some other that I can't remember right now. Some different cars and the upgrades, sounds, sense of moving is really good.

Suzuka is pretty but its a major let down. Flat as a pancake.

I hope you don't mind me voting here, buddy. I would certainly go for Forza 3, based on what I have seen on YouTube and read so far here, regardless of reviews. What good does GT4 do if you are gonna get GT5 soon anyways? I would rather taste a great game of another console. Besides, you can do much more things in Forza 3 than in GT4.

You can always check the car list too of both Gran Turismo 4 and Forza Motorsport 3 if you have any doubts on which one you should get. I know I do that with every racing game I'm interested in.

Yeah, I just downloaded a pictorial FM3 car/track list. The tracks look like they'll be fun. Not many city courses, but I never really liked those in GT either.

The car list looks really good.

Well, you'd better start to use a wheel as soon as possible. LOL

It's very different from using controller

Naturally, since it involves moving your arms and not just your thumbs... :p

Question regarding Forza 3... what kind of endurance races does it have?

I would buy the XBOX 360 & Forza 3, the march date still faraway for GT5 & you never know it could be pushed back further.

Did you even read the poll?

"Should I buy a 360 and Forza 3 instead of a PS2 and GT4?"

"Should I buy a PS2 and GT4 instead of 360 and Forza 3?"

"Should I buy a PS2 and GT4?"

"Should I buy a PS2?"

"I don't have a PS2."

GT4 Its a great game and you can find it in a Bargain, But just Forget it and GET FORZA MOTORSPORT 3, you just wont regret and youre going to have One of the bests Racing game in the History, and In My Opinion, its WAAAAAAY BETTER than GT4.

So dont ask anymore and Get Forza 3, you'll have fun like never....Until April-May :sly:

I like GT4, but I'd say Forza 3 is in a whole different league in my opinion. I think you'll enjoy Forza 3 greatly. Remember that GT4 does not have damage, that the AI is stupid as hell, so in terms of gameplay, you should enjoy Forza 3 more.

Thanks for the help, guys. I'll be picking up a 360 and a copy of Forza 3 tomorrow.

Could you do a Little present to Someone who lives in a Poor Country???

Buy a refurbished 360 and send it to Venezuela :D :D :D

Damn...im dying toTry Forza 3, Btw Enjoy It! and hope my comment helped you :)

Now that I see you are getting a 360 I'd recommend picking up Project Gothem and Test Drive: Unlimited as well. Both should be cheap now and both are a great deal of fun when it comes to driving.

I might pick up a Project Gotham Racing game. The 2nd one was a blast.

Enjoy your new game. Forza 3 seems top notch.

Oh, I think I will enjoy it.

It's kinda scary though, skimming the official Forza forums... seems there's a boatload of strange glitches.

Glitches will be there, as they are in every game. Remember, forums are HARD CORE fans. The majority of gamers have no idea what a glitch is.

It's hard to enjoy a game when you spend so much time trying to dissect and discredit it.

Yeah. Most of the glitches sound pretty harmless, so they are by no means a deal breaker.
