Constant Gas Glitch

This morning, I did the GTR Lap Record Challenge in Arcade mode. I completed the time, and used no driving aids. After the lap, still without aids, I slowed to a complete stop. When I stopped, I noticed the game was inputting throttle, without me pressing the gas. I figured it was just an Arcade Mode quirk, until later, when I tried to drive my California in Career Mode.

Whenever I decelerated under 8mph, the game started feeding in throttle, still without aids. Whenever I come to a complete stop, the game feeds in more throttle, and the car idles higher than normal. However, this only occurs when I do not have the handbrake on. I recorded a video of the constant throttle in the 2007 GTR. Another interesting thing I've found, is that it only happens in cars that I cannot use the G27 clutch pedal on. On cars with a clutch like the Evora, the glitch doesn't occur. For those who have driven automatic cars, the game feels exactly like one.

All I'm asking is: What is happening, and how do I stop it?

Notes:
⋅0 driving aids
⋅G27
⋅GT5 Version 2.11
⋅Practice & Arcade mode
⋅Only happens in cars without clutches.

It's not a glitch. Haven't you driven an auto in real life before?

The gearbox (which is always connected to the wheels) in an automatic is always mechanically connected to the engine via the torque converter (unless you're in Park or Neutral). Because of this, even when the engine is at idle, the car will still move.

On the other hand, with manuals, if you were to come to a complete stop with the clutch engaged, the engine will stall because the wheels aren't moving, and therefore neither is the gearbox. The clutch must always be disengaged when at a stop, and so you won't get this rolling effect.

Except that the Cali and GTR's aren't auto's. The Cali in particular has a DSG, which isn't a torque converter. All of that aside, the game has never done this to me before with this wheel and these sertings.

It's normal. Some cars (including the GT-R) does it, so don't worry. You can stop the auto throttle, by braking or by using the hand-/e-brake.

Depends on the vehicle. Heavier vehicles won't go anywhere. There isn't enough power being made to move them.

Are you sure your gas pot is not sticking?

Are you sure your gas pot is not sticking?

Yes, as it only does this at specific, predictable times versus at random, my old DFGT had a sticking problem.

And since its said to be something these cars do, would a fully custom transmission fix it? I can't test it out as I'm away from the PS3 currently.

I see, it's probably similar to how the caterham behaves on occasion, like when you wreck it hahaha.

I'm not sure about what a tranny would do, but maybe the racing flywheel and clutch would quicken response at least, I've never really noticed what you are describing but I most likely didn't drive those cars much :dk

The problem is in the Default Transmission. The game is treating it like an automatic, so I have to install one of those nasty whiners. (Close Ratio/Full Custom)

This.

If you're using a wheel (logitech), this is a common problem and needs a bit of cleaning. I have to clean mine every 4 months or so because of carpet dust and debris.

You're throttle input bar doesn't look constant therefore looks like a sticking gas pedal.

This has happened to me since the release of GT5 and I have a DS3, it's normal as far as I'm concerned and I play with manual.

Dual clutch. Same thing happens in the Mercedes Benz SLS, Lexus ISF and many more.

This is normal. It is just the type of transmission the car has.

Also if you notice when you install a fully customizable transmission this stops happening.

For example. I use a G27. With the GTR (all R35 models), SLS, ISF, ect this same thing happens. Even though I have a clutch these cars permanently disable this function. What is actually going on, is in real life the car will do this to keep the engine running (basically a auto clutch).

As soon as I install a fully customizable transmission however, this stops and i will now be able to use the clutch pedal.

Like i have said before this is normal. I am also surprised PD actually put that in the game.

Wow, I cant believe this question was asked & especially after the game has been out so long.

The brake bar and throttle bar are the indication of a stuck pot. But some cars have a throttle rev when no brake is applied. Just apply brake. If the throttle or gas are still up a bit u have a problem, if not then keep on truckin..

Well yes usually. But on the cars he is talking about they are like that in real life and on the game. Try them with the stock transmission and you will see what he is talking about.

So when you brake, the car will still throttle? I don't understand. When I press my brake, the throttle bar completely goes down, if I let off the brake it idles.

When my pot is dirty, it keeps spiking no matter if any other pedal is depressed, like the ops video.

If the op would come back and state if they're using a wheel or not, this would help a lot. Until then, this is dead.

Check the notes portion of the OP. I'm using a G27.

My pot isn't dirty, this is only the game trying to simulate auto cars. In every other car it works just fine, minus the GTR, California, and SLS, which all have similar DSG transmissions, and the game is treating them differently for some reason. If it was dirty, it wouldn't only start happening below 8mph on only those 3 cars, but be more random. (I've had a DFGT with dirty innards before)

Lock2Lock has it correct.

Once the GTR it really doesn't matter if wheel or controller. The GTR with a stock transmission has a dual clutch. So it tries to keep the engine alive while stopped at full brakes (without the e-brake on). Reason it doesn't matter if you are using a wheel or a DS3 is, even if you have a G27 the clutch cannot be used with the stock transmission. Same goes on the SLS, Bugatti, ISF, and a few more.

But as soon as you install the fully customizable transmission this stops happening.

Just go take out one of those cars and then stop on the track without the e-brake applied. Then do the same thing with a fully customizable transmission.

Nothing is wrong with his wheel/controller. It is just how those cars are.

DSG transmissions thank you. I forgot what they were called.

Or L2L if you have a G27, and have the GTR '07 you can turn off the engine :P. Since you can use the clutch.

Not with the stock transmission. The clutch does not work with the stock transmission. Even if you have a G27 (like you and I do have) it doesn't work.

Hmm, I tried it and it worked....

Wasn't a stock transmission. Go buy one straight from the dealership do nothing to it. There's clutch will not be functional. Then buy a fully customizable transmission then the clutch will work.

It is just the type of transmission. There are a few cars that the clutch isn't functional (with stock transmission). Some of those like the GTR and SLS do the throttle simulation.

Well the 458 you can use Clutch, GTR Im 100% sure since i have couple of them, maybe to many stock.

Telling you homie. Go try one. No clutch. The GTR, GTR V-Spec, GTR Black Edition all stock clutch does not work. Same situation with the EVO X

O.o, I swear. GTR '07 ill go try it later.

I think you are tripping on something. Haha just kidding bro.:)

But yes that GTR too. Pretty much all of the R35 models

I would bet a large sum that the problem is with your pedals.
As a test, disconnect your pedals or controller & you may notice the throttle input is gone. (The engine will still idle)

This happened to me, I dismantled the pedals & re-assembled & the problem was fixed.
Take care, its not that easy to re-assemble.

Looks like you're having pedal trouble too buddy :sly:

Plug out your wheel and plug try a DS3. The "Gas Input" beside the Brake Input will be zero. I swear on baby Zeus
