Hello there, people of GTplanet. I'd like you to help me with this topic issue.

So it's like that - I'm entering the room and everything is fine until I try to get on track. Less than one minute after I do this, I'm getting disconnected from waiting room server or a DNS error occurs.:ouch:

This happens very often to me, but sometimes everything works just perfect. I'm no idea what could be the problem. My Internet is very fast (Wireless, 50 MBps), my PS3 works perfectly and is less than one meter away from the router... I also tried to clear the game's memory (no idea why, really).:grumpy:

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Hardwire your connection.

^^^This is ideal, however if you can't do this I would suggest to power cycling both your modem and router before turning on gt5 and let it reset itself.

I run wireless ALL THE TIME, and can count the number of times I've been disconnected on 1 hand.

Another option is to DMZ the PS3. That might solve your problems.

My connection is wired and when I upgraded to a better router, I ended up having to DMZ my PS3 due to getting dropped from online multiplayer within 1-2 minutes of joining the games.

I get a similar thing, despite being hardwired and cache cleared before doing any online running. I commonly see all the runners in the room at start, but then they get the "loading" lines under their names, followed closely by the disconnection. Doesn't happen every time, but much more regularly than I do from any other game I play online.

You can try to move your router closer to your PS3 also. It worked for me. I moved it about 4 feet closer, and I don't disconnect anymore.

Not all wireless routers are created equal. Try a wired connection since your close to your router. It's a cheap way to test if it's a wireless problem.

I run wireless and my connection is fine, no lag, rarely disconnect. So it is not the ONLY answer. Obviously a wired connection is the best, but not the only soloution im guessing.

Same here, I've been wireless on my ps3 since I got it and been on GT5 since the start with no issues. Some (if not most) wireless routers aren't compatible with the ps3, you'll get lag, disconnection issues and headaches.

Since the op mentioned "DNS" errors, I'd bet it was either faulty router or ISP issues.

For the sake of a few pounds just try a cat 6 Ethernet cable, its far superior to wifi, what Nat type are you on? Nat 2 is best, I had all sorts of problems on nat 3 with different games.

I think I'll try hardwiring, after I find some cables in my house... I surely have at least one but totally forgot where.

Anyway, thanks for your tips guys, much appreciated!
