Control Lock - Samsung SyncMaster 753s

My 17" Samsung SyncMaster 743s monitor has been annoying me lately.

I can't access the OSD (on screen display) menu via the buttons on the monitor; so when the screen needs degaussing, it becomes a real problem. The problem is, when I hit one of the buttons, it comes up with "Control Lock - Locked".

I've read the manual and I can't even find the words Control Lock in there. And yes, I have tried downloading new drivers.

My monitor got locked in Japanese once wouldn't allow you to unlock it. I gave up for a while, but read on a site that most monitors have a way to reset to factory defaults (much like a router.)
On my monitor you just hold the degauss for a bit. Try holding down buttons for 5-10 seconds and you might stumble up the correct one.
Or you could just go to the website (or call) and find a Faq on your monitor which probably answers this very question.

I managed to unlock it by holding the 'Menu' button for like 8 seconds. Thanks Tom! :)
 
Hey Shanon,
Press the menu botton on ur monitor for at least 20 second and
the I am sure that menu lock will be opened and u will experience no difficulty.
this mechanism is provided in SyncMaster to avoid any tampering with the monitor setting.
If u want to lock ur monitor once again than again hold ur menu button for 20 seconds.
