Hi all, has anyone had this happen? Lucky it was sitting on a dinner plate or it would be on my new $4500 lounge. I guess its the battery:yuck:

Yes Xbox controllers are known to do that, unlucky.

Fortunately I have a PS3 and take good care of it.

At what point did he mention it's an XBOX controller? On a forum about Gran Turismo it would be more obvious to assume the controller in question is a PS3 controller. Maybe if you stopped being such a mindless fanboy you might of actually thought about that.

Yes, Xbox controllers to that.

Maybe if you stopped being such a mindless fanboy you might actually thought about not being so defensive.

Sorry about that, i'm just in a naughty mood today.

No, they don't.

Theoretically, it would make more sense for the DS3's battery to leak to any known capacity considering it's electrical capacitance can very easily be overloaded by the PCB itself; even more so when considering the possibility that one (or more) of the electrical points were to, say, burn out which could possibly cause a flux. The same could be said of the 360's battery, but since it isn't physically connected like the DS3's battery pack is...if there were a leak it would probably result with the batteries themselves.

Probably exposed to temperatures higher or lower (if not a combination of both) than recommended. Also, what controller is the OP referring to?

there, better?

If there's an integrated battery pack they could.

Otherwise, no.

It doesn't matter if they are integrated or AA's (external) they can both still leak. I have had many AA's which leak inside something if they are left in very hot and humid conditions or for a long period of time. If anything AA's are more vulnerable to this then Li-ion.

Also for those who don't know the DS3's battery is not soldered to the circuit board, its attached with a mini connector for easy disposal or replacement so its no different to the contacts point in an AA housing.

Robin.

So I suppose only mine came potty-trained...I'm glad the DS3's battery is detachable, the biggest gripe I have with it is that it's hard to remove without pliers...

I said that earlier. :p

The pack would still be integrated, only informally.

Just dropped mine in the bath to see if it leaks.
Damn loads of bubbles came out. I guess mine leaks too.
