Up to now there where not a lot of racing games tilting towards "Sim" that had great controller support. Arguably Gran Turismo is a Simcade and not a sim but it has great controller implementation. There was of course AC and ACC on PlayStation but i heard at least mixed reviews about the usage of controllers at (especially at a top level). GT7 would be the gold standard of accessibility and at the same time competitiveness.

Now there seem to be a bunch of new racing games coming to PS5 (some of them already tryable on PC) if I'm not mistaken.

  • Rennsport
  • LMU
  • Project Motor Racing
  • Assetto Corsa Evo

Which of these would you grant the highest competence/possibility to get the controller support at least nearly as good as in Gran Turismo?

Project Motor Racing I would say, just from what they've been saying vs other peoples experiences in the other titles. Rennsport probably the least controller friendly and firmly the worst of those titles period.

For me, GT7, Forza, F1 '25, EAWRC are kings of controller support, I'm really hoping PMR can be in the ballpark of those titles.

No experience myself but I've heard LMU is ok-to-good with a controller on PC, either the DualSense or an Xbox pad. Not GT/Forza level friendliness but more ACC. Of course that one is still not actually properly confirmed for console yet.

The PMR devs are very insistent it will be very good on pad, so I will bitterly disappointed if it's not.

I'm not a fan of GT7s controller implementation, constant underwater, though it's better than GTsport. Acc is pretty decent, could be better, that should give me hope for ACE but acc only has GT3, GT2, GT4 and some cup cars, but the Porsche cup is not so good on controller, so it does leave me with some concern for ACE. I don't always want to use a wheel.
