Does anyone know if there will be controllers that are not supported with GT4. (and if anyone says the guncon I will personally smack them :) ) I am concerned with the negcon. It would be nice to see it up and working in this release.

Thanks

I think you may have to invest in some slightly more modern technology for GT4.

The only controllers confirmed to work are the standard DualShock2, and the Logitech Driving Force Pro. I assume most other wheels will work as well, but probably not as well as the DFP.

Me, I've been using the DualShock since GT1, I'm fine with the DS2. :)

In regards to the NegCon, you'll probably have to wait and see when the game is released. I saw you mention in the other thread that it didn't work with GT3, so my guess is that will also not work with GT4. You have to remember, it's obsolete PS1 hardware.. it may work with PS1 games, but most likely not PS2 games.

First, it works and it works VERY well and there isn't anything to compare it to that is currently available that I know of.

2econd, if it were all about modern technology then we would lose half the cars in the GT4 lineup!

Ill think youll find the new DFP will blow the sock soff your old NEGCON in terms of providng a suberb control system, as well as adding a whole new sense of realism.

And Ill take old school cars over modern technology any day, being as im Oldish. ;)

You're right, the DFP will probably be better as in terms of being as precise control system. I don't really have a good set up that would allow me to have a steering wheel and I'd rather lay on the bed when I play (especially those endurance races!) If it came down to it, I can get along with the normal pad. I see that there is a small dedicated following for the negcon and the few games it does support, and there are people who have created adapter to use the controller on other platforms. I wonder if there is something that I could plug inline to make the ps2 think there is a wheel. I am not concerend with dual shock, or force feedback....Something I'll just have to look in.

thanks for your time and input!

.

What about the normal Driving Force ( not the pro ) ? I own one and would be
very upset if it doesn't work with GT4. It was so "pimped" by PD when GT3 was released.

The BMW demo works with my Driving Force, I haven't had a chance to test it with the other demo though.

yeah. I believed the hype and spent 150 dollars on it, only to be extremely dissapointed with it. I don't know, maybe mine was broken, but the DS2 was more accurate than that damn wheel.

Now the DFP, that's another story.

Thanks for the information. If it works with the BMW demo I can assume that it'll work with GT4.
I like my Driving Force because it works fine ... with my PC racing games: EA F1 challenge 99-04, Colin Mc Rae2, Richard Burns Rally and Grand Prix Legends
