Why the hell did Chevy settle on those headlights? The headlights were fine before. Now they're ****ed up.

But the badass specs make up for it, I think.

I said the same thing about the 2002 NSX. Horrid lights - but better performance makes up for it. I still want a 2001 targa NSX in gunmetal gray.

So what the hell are sitting around chatting on a forum for?

Go out and steal one. You only live once. You may as well do it behind bars.

NSXs are overpriced; you can get a better car for the money.

I think those are the only two convertables i'd want to buy. I don't know why Lotus even made a convertable elise.

Oh I tell a lie, I like the A4 Cabrio.

Haha, my images are massive.

In other words, absolutely perfect - just ask BMW what happens when you try to go for character and a defining feature.
Hey, Barbara Streisand has "character" and a "defining feature", but that doesn't make her attractive to look at.

Cheap...
Posting "your" cars with the top down, and the onse you lable ugly with the top up.

Very little Convertibles ever look good (esp. older ones) with the top up.

A Porsche 356 Speedster (replica)
Ugly? I think not.

The VW Hebmüller Cabrio, a 1000 times nicer then the Karmann Cabrio and the inspiration for the infamous Speedster Beetle kits.

Mike Rotch: for £70k, I'd want the roof to retract into the body, thanks very much.

Since I live in Scotland, where it rains quite a lot, I'm not really a fan of convertibles, and certainly not ragtops. I think the current Mercedes SL is a work of art.

Ok ok, cheap shot on the top up pictures. But top down they don't look much better. And that brings up a good argument - what convertible looks best with its top up?

Bah... what's the use of a Convertible with the top up?

When I had my Spitfire I'd have the hardtop on in the wintertmonths, the rest of the year I just dressed warm :)

Bottomline as far as I'm concerned, if you are looking for a practical car, don't buy a convertible ;)

£12,000 buys you:

A dodgy 2001 Subaru Impreza Turbo
An imported 1997 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo
A pristine 1995 Honda NSX
A new 2004 Ford Focus 1.6i

NSX please!

We brits are a bunch of posers...supposeidly. From what I have heard, we seem to buy the most convertibles in Europe, and our weather SUCKS!

Elise is the best convertible. But I have heard they are abit leaky, so that has put me off a 2nd hand one...im only 13 though.

You can also get a mint condition 300ZX or 3000GT. No NSX but I think I'd rather have the left over cash ;) in hand.

Here's my fav open top car, no convertable but still can't beat it ;).

And the beaut with a hardtop. Even though it isn't as good as without the hood, still as nice with the hardtop :).

You can't GET a mint condition 300ZX. 75% are imports, which means you have to find a new insurance company, and the rest have been modified. You won't find one with less than 40,000 miles, that's for sure.

The same applies to the 3000GT - great car, but there's about 0.4 official ones in the country. Most of them have had 700hp shoved up their tailpipes.

Well...yea. A 300ZX under 80,000miles without anything done to it (in british spec) is mint in my book ;). Shame that both cars are ruined by soo many people.:(

True, but not a direct competitor.

I've never seen you post something irrelevant before. :odd:
