1938 Volkswagen KDF Cabriolet
Chassis number 1-000031 was made as a 1 off cabriolet prototype. Later then produced in large numbers by the coach builder Karmann in 1949. This car, was presented and gifted to Adolf Hitler for his 50th birthday during the ceremony of the opening of the VW Wolfsburg plant. The job of driving Hitler from the ceremony was given to Ferdinand Porsche's son, Ferry.
The car has been restored quite a few years ago but still exists in the Volkswagen "AutoStadt" museum in Wolfsburg.

Porsche/Zundapp Type 12 (1931-1932)
Ferdinand Porsche needed help from existing car brands to create his "People's Car" or "Volkswagen". Porsche made his own sketches as early as 1929 but built his first prototype in 1931. The car was a one off Wanderer Type 7 with a streamlined body that he made his personal car.
He left Wanderer and collaborated with motorcycle manufacturer Zundapp. He then created the Type 12. The first official Volkswagen prototype. It looked like a scaled down version of his personal Wanderer but also looked more streamlined. There were two Type 12's made. One with a streamlined beetle shaped body, and the other with a more conventional boxy design. It had a RR layout with a 2 cylinder air cooled engine. Soon, Zundapp lost interest of the VW project and Porsche went to NSU to make his next prototype, the Type 32 in 1933.

Really fond of this concept. It evokes a nostalgic, antique style that the production Veyron simply lacks.
Agreed, I prefer this design way more than the production model. Too bad the production Veyron lacks those vintage details.

FCA recently opened their Heritage center and among some prototypes that were never shown to the public are these two beauties, the Alfa Romeo 4C Quadrifoglio Coupè and Spider:

Sporting some revised aerodynamics not much is known about these models. They are however sporting the Quadrifoglio badge.

I can see where some of the inspiration for GT Sport's Group 4 Alfa 4C's came from in these.

Powered by a heavily modified 6.0L Vortec V8 with LS1 high-airflow cylinder heads, large combustion chambers, 2.02-inch intake and 1.57-inch exhaust valves; titanium valvespring retainers with Comp Cams' valvesprings; forged flat-top pistons with a compression ratio of 10.5:1; Crower con rods (6.125 inches long); and a Corvette windage tray. A bumpstick is at the center of the Mouse engine: Lunati's dual-pattern hydraulic roller cam with an 0.539-inch intake lift at 209 degrees duration and an 0.558-inch exhaust lift at 216 degrees duration. Horsepower rated at 440 hp and 450 lb/ft of torque. Would've been a great stablemate to the Avalanche but it never made production, which is a real shame because this would be a goat to romp around in the woods!

1984 Volkswagen Scirocco Bi-motor 360/4 Prototype. VW’s motorsport division made two Mk.2 Scirocco Bi-Motor prototypes. The combined output of the two 1.8 liter engines was 360hp and these cars even had 4 wheel drive.

It's predecessor was the 1981 Twinjet, which also had two motors, and made 216hp and had AWD.

1963 Lamborghini 350 GTV. This was the first Lamborghini prototype, designed by Franco Scaglione and built by Carrozzeria Sargiotto in Turin. However Ferruccio Lamborghini was unhappy with the car and commissioned Carrozzeria Touring to produce an alternative design which became Lamborghini’s first production car, the 350GT.

1973 Jaguar XJ12 Concept by Pininfarina. This was Pininfarina’s proposal for the next generation of the Jaguar XJ, which did have some influence over the design of the 1980s XJ40 series that replaced the original XJ.

1967 Rover 2000 TCZ (Touring Coupe Zagato) prototype. Obviously designed by Zagato, this was a sporty, V8-powered coupe version of the P6 which never made it to the production stage.

It looked very much like the Alfa Romeo Junior Zagato, which came out two years later. Perhaps the styling was inspired from the above Rover concept?
