Maybe we should get that hippo off of that "The Hemi Engine Sucks" thread. I was laughing pretty hard when someone mentioned... well, I'm not going to say. Kart Racer or McLaren'sAngel wouldn't want to see me get fed to a hungry, hungry hippo (remember that old kid's game?).

Anyhow, if I had to choose, I certainly see myself in one of the Honda S2000s Japan has. I think it has a touch more horsepower than the American version. And call me crazy, but I'm going to drink GTR-Guy's Kool-Aid and say that I think that Tommy kaira R34 with 400+ hp all covered in red with "Tommy Kaira" decals is SURELY a car I'd take to the road or the track. Now all I need is a license and a few seconds to transform into my nutty alterego... oh wait, I'm already crazy. Disregard!

Lancer Evo I-VII
Skyline (all of them)
Silvia (all of them)
Impreza Spec C, 22B, etc.
RX-7 A-Spec
Chaser

Mhmm

But, like I said, the deposit list is at about 30 at every dealership, with only the top couple people getting their cars in the next few weeks. Actually, the first 500 orders are on their way, somewhere over the Atlantic. The model in the USDM is 'Lotus Elise' while the EXACT same car is called the 'Lotus Elise 111R' in the European, Australian and other markets. Their 111R's have been avaliable since January/March.

I'd like to have a Subaru Impreza WR1 or the previous generation Subaru Imreza STi Type UK, then convert it into a rally car replica.

The list in Houston is at about 60. And it is not the 111R. We get the awesome Celica engine the VVTI. Oh yeah.

I would love a VY HSV Clubsport R8. I Reckon there the best looking HSV's ever!

All Elises are switching to the Toyota engine, the new Exige already uses it.

HOLLY CRAP WE'RE GETTING ELISES!!!!!!!!!!!

man, if only i had the MONEY!! how much are they going for?

Well, i'll say the MOTORSPORT Elise. The only car i really wanted we don't have is the Elise. BUT NOW THEY ARE COMING!! wow, i guess i'll have to wait a couple years for a used one to come on the market.:(

The Elise 111R is, in fact, a 1.8 Celica-engined Elise, exactly as Eliseracer said. The new S2 Exige, also on sale in the UK, uses the same engine as well.

Oh my god I can't believe someone mentioned the Chaser...The car that was replaced for a reason......Oh well to each his own..Nothing like a 1999 Acura 3.2TL with RWD...j/k

Thanks.

BUT! The Exige S2 is almost identical to the 111R LSS (sport pack), except it has "better aerodynamics", oh yeah, and a hardtop, but that's an option on the Elise for like 1200$US.

Asside from suspension and looks does anyone know the difference between the 111R and the MR-S? Are there any wheelbase differences or anything along those lines?

I don't think the chassis have anything in common. The VX220 and the Elise, are almost identical though.

I would love to drive the Silvia S15:O

I'm not sure about how it drives, but it definately looks aggressive:D

And how about some TVR's and other British cars (Vanquish maybe)..

And the Focus RS (Did anybody see the new US Focus? Ugly)

And maybe this is only for Cali but... Skyline GTRs.. I would love to see how it looks in real life.

Well.....The lotus weights 200lbs less than the MR2 Spyder spyder has a greater wheelbase but isn't as wide as the lotus, the 111R is taller than the spyder......
Lotus 111R weight distribution is 37% front 63% rear has a .42 drag coefficient

MR2 Spyder's weight dist is 44/56 (will differ with the ZZ) and has a drag coefficient of .35

Seems to me a MR2 with the Celica swap & minor suspension mods would be the better of the 2 on a track.......but there's always the Lotus emblem...

So, the Focus RS is more powerful than what we get here stateside? I thought the WRC Focus looks a little too aggressive from its fun side. More like a "I mean business (no really) car." I've called the Toyota Chaser a Japanese BMW, but not to say it's a rip from Bavarian Motor Works (guess what that acronym spells). The Chaser looks like a BMW, only with a differnt grill at the front. Its taillights seem like an older BMW at first. But it is actually quite a stylish machine with capabilities to match. And if I'm not mistaken, all that costs much less than a BMW. It would be a knockout here in the States.

Alfa Romeo's 145 hatchback is possibly one of the coolest-looking hatchbacks that raced the BTCC. Alfa Romeo MAY make a return to the States, but its 145 would make a nice hatchback. Maybe it can be had in their signature color, Alfa Red.

I think he means the 147.

Wasn't the top of the range 147 blindingly quick, but because it had a 3.2 V6 powering the front wheels it was blindingly crappy in the corners?

And I thought you left in a huff?

You mean the 147 GTA?

And a puff.

Lets just say I was in a ****in bad mood. something to do with my mum requiring chemotherapy and an extremely large op after a diagnosis last week. Sorry about the strop.

By looking at numbers? Also by looking at dimensions?!?! I know I'm not the person to be saying this (I haven't driven either cars), but judging by the way the car world loves the Elise and doesn't seem to be going crazy over the MR2, I'd say you're wrong. I haven't ever seen the MR2 in any comparison with the Lotus, ever.

Well people go crazy over non common things.......I know the elise is a great car, I love it too.....But the MRS's rep is growing rather quickly....especially with the growing number of celica swaps

I never knew how many cars America doesn't get. Makes me glad to be British.

Keep this British Beast on this side of the Atlantic!!!

The most powerful American Focus is the Focus SVT, sold as both a 3-door and 5-door, which makes 170-horsepower and 145-lb ft from a 2.0L four-cylinder. The most powerful British Focus is the Focus RS, which makes 212-horsepower and 229-lb ft from the same two-liter four. Theirs is obviously faster and quicker, but ours is still a great car, and a very good alternative to the Mini Cooper S.

You're mad. You British losers miss out on all of these fine cars:

Why is the ZX3 a quicker car than what? I was comparing the Mini Cooper S and the Ford Focus SVT.

If for some reason you think the Ford Focus ZX3 is quicker than either the Focus SVT or the Mini Cooper S then you need to drive the vehicles. Obviously.

Do you even have a drivers' license?
