I recently bought a ps3 and want to play GT4 on it but I am having problems transfering my ps2 memory card data to the ps3 hard drive. I have a ps3 adaptor which I plug into the USB Port of the ps3 and have created a GT4 file but have no idea how to COPY the data. This may appear to you hardened GT4 experts as a bit noobish but I would appreciate your help. I think it's probably very simple but I am sure I am missing something. If someone could give me a step by step approach that would be great.

Cheers,
nige

Go to Game on the XMB and then go up. I believe it is under the memory card data or something like that. Anyway, when you find it it will show you the data stored on your memory card.

Now, you need to make sure you have told the PS3 to create a virtual PS2 memory card. Then just go into the real memory card and copy (Triangle -> copy) the files you want saved on your PS3.

Any chance of posting the GT4 game save after it's converted to PSV when you have successfully tested it on the PS3?
I don't have a memory card adapter but would definitely be happy using a game save with all the cars on the PS3, only the memory card adapter owners have the ability to do this and I haven't seen any downloadable saves as yet ready to add to a usb stick and transfer ..

Thanks in advance and best of luck

nige - highlight the file, press the Triangle button.

Mr P - I'll upload one to my website tonight and PM you a link. Though it's originally VV's file, I believe.

Yeh cheers thats what I thought because I assumed Copy would then appear in the menu but it doesn't. I will go and check thouigh!!

Mr P - If you have no success with Famine's route I will certainly do that, providing I can get it to save on the ps3!!!!

UPDATE- Have just rechecked - Have created file in Internal Memory Card . When I press triangle I get 3 options - Assign Slots, Delete and Information. There's no sign of COPY!!!!! This is so infuriating :indiff::indiff:

Wait, are you clicking triangle in the Internal memory card or the actual memory card? If you are doing it on the empty internal memory card then you are doing it wrong.

This is assuming that I correctly understand that you are trying to copy from your PS2 memory card plugged into the adaptor to the internal memory card on the PS3.

1. Plug in card reader.

2. Plug in card.

3. Find GT4 save. Highlight. Press "Triangle"

4. Select "Copy". Pick Internal Memory Card as destination.

OK cheers but now I feel a real idiot. Where do I find the GT4 Save?

Foolkiler - Cheers also. Where does the actual memory card ( ie the ps2 one ) appear in the menu once I have it plugged in via the adaptor?

Cheers,

Your GT4 save will be on your PS2 memory card...

The PS2 memory card will appear in the "Memory Card Utility" section, probably at the very top, under the "Game" menu.

Famine I thank you immensely. 👍 You are absolutely right. Strangely though if you go out of Memory Card Utility File and then later return to the ps2 file that you have just copied it doesn't reappear.
If you reset the ps3 though it magically reappears. Very strange I think!!! Has anybody else had thiis or is it just a querk of the ps3?
Again many thanks.

Glad to hear it worked out guys! 👍

Cheers. Thanks for your help 👍 It seems as though the adaptor system isn't too reliable. Or it may just be me :dunce:
If you need the save still I am very happy to copy it . Just let me know :)
Thinking time ...............How do I get it to the pc? :scared: Any ideas anyone?
