Corvette Stingray (C7) '14 - H Pattern 7th Gear

The 2014 Corvette has a H-Pattern shifter with a 7th gear. I have a Fanatec Clubsport SQ with a H-Pattern 7th gear however the Corvette doesn't go into 7th gear when engaged. Does GT6 support H-Pattern 7th gear? Perhaps GT6 only supports 7th gear via sequential shifting ...

Might be because Fanatec on GT5/GT6 emulates G25/G27, and they don't have 7-speed H-shifters.

So paddles to get up to 7th from 6th, and back down.

I have a 7 speed thrustmaster H-shifter but replaced the shift plate with short shift 6 speed.

Don't miss it, because on most street cars 7th gear is just a glorified overdrive.

Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo has seven but its sequential. This is the first car I've encountered in the GT-Series that uses a seven speed H.

Amuse was 7 speed H shifter in GT5, have not tried it yet in GT6....
I used it to test my TH8RS 7 speeds before I changed to 6 speed plate.
....maybe they borked the trans on that too in GT6?

I'm going off the in-game car info - it says sequential gearbox

(I use the CSS SQ in sequential mode for that particular car)

There have been issues with that in GT6, couple of threads devoted to it.
For example the Sauber LMP, its an H-shifter trans, but now in GT6 its sequential.
Seems as if PD has mis-labled or assigned wrong boxes to cars.

The rocket is another one, you can upgrade to dog-leg trans, but H-shifter does not work.
...but in real-life its a sequential, so Dog-leg should not even be a possible upgrade.

How do you like your CSS? On-the-fly shift from H to SQ must be nice!

I see what you mean Jogo. It looks like the real-life car that this one is patterned after has a 6-speed H-shifter.

I absolutely love the CSS. Always used paddle shifters in the past since everything I tried previously felt like a toy. In a word it's awesome :). I have it hard mounted to my modified Obutto Ozone rig and use the supplied ball shift knob.

Enjoy, I am sure before too long it will get straightened out so you can enjoy that 7th gear on your new toy.

Happy Holidays!

A little bit OT, but it seems that they have missed the race cars' clutch transmissions...
In GT5 I always loved to drive all the old Group C cars with Clutch And H-shift...
Yesterda I got myself the R92CP in 6 and I can only paddle shift :grumpy:

What a stupid layout.

You want the shifter to rest in the middle with 3rd and 4th above and below.

This would have been better, and if I am not mistaken german cars use this type of layout.

And since honda like the reverse gear to be on the bottom right, this could be used for hondas(dogleg style).

Seems to me the "OT" I posted was pertinent to the OP's issue...

I would prefer this layout more, it is more logical. ;) Also Dog-Leg style. ;)
I'm sorry but I think the first drawing of yours is quite stupid. It is illogical and you won't be able to shift fast from 6th to 7th. I understand your point of having the shifter not in the middle when it is in neutral. I don't think there is a really big problem though, just shift like 4 speed cars. Or the shifter could be between the 4 and the 5 with the philosophy that you won't use the 1st gear very often in races. (dogleg philosophy)

If you can't live with that, this would be an option:

It is a version of your first idea, only with a more logical pattern.

Exactly, you'll never use 7th gear on a racetrack (not even the nordschleife).

Would still be nice though when cruising around at road speeds to get a feel for what the car would be like in real life

don't know why I put 7th in that location.
