Nope. Apparently it was added on the 30th May 2025 according to Fortnite.gg
Ah, well this says otherwise.

Ah, the "joys" of modern video games.

This scientifically works incredibly well to keep people playing, is the annoying thing. It's almost certainly why we have mechanics like the dealership rotations and weekly special events instead of permanent ones.

I would seriously like to see the numbers of player Retention generated from these tactics as opposed to how it was before because I am beginning to question how Actually effective these are without proper evidence to back it up.

I guess it depends on which tactics. I don't like the time based rotating dealerships because if I suddenly have a hyper-fixation on a certain car and find out it's two months until I can get it I'll just go somewhere else. But it also works in that I'll tune in for a new update to make sure I get the new cars, and I'll probably then do some weekly events while I'm there.

What doesn't work for me is the Forza Horizon way where you have to do the events to get the new car (I don't know how true that still is, I haven't played since FH4). I am not a smart man and if they put something inbetween me and getting the thing like doing specific events, I won't enter. If it's a nice open friendly space like buying the car immediately and then doing some events afterwards, I'll waltz straight in... Like a lamb to the slaughter. The difference is choice, I guess (or the illusion of which).

In sim racing, making new content available, with no actual changes to the game, only has a very short term effect. Look at ACC when they added Nordschleife, Forza when they added Nordschleife, Forza's last update, the AC Evo updates that have just been content drops - all very hyped content updates, they all spike their user graphs for a week or two, and then it re-settles very close to where it was pre-update. People coming back merely for new content don't stick around.

This is fine for "proper" live service games with an in-game store, because these returning players generally buy something before they leave again, so the loop works. But it doesn't do as much for games like GT that aren't as deeply a live service.

This only applies for pure content updates - updates that improve the core gameplay or add brand new features, like Spec II or a lot of LMU updates, can have a lasting positive effect on playerbase. But content alone doesn't really do much.

I think we can be pretty confident neither Xiaomi is coming this month.

I know PD aren't the best at live service marketing, but surely if it was imminent they'd have marketed it at such?

Well, they filmed the drive October 28, 2024. If it’s six to nine months to complete (a)the car from that date, we’re looking at a possible end of July reveal. So, talking about the partnership this month can be readying people for next month. We’ll see.

  • 3 x cars (super car / classic /family hatchback
  • an all NEW option of "same era" cars added in Custom tournaments set up
  • 2 x existing tracks, but with NEW reverse option
  • 1 x existing track with NEW rain option

That was Xiaomi Auto's own filming of the Nurburgring lap. Yamauchi drove it in late May, and that seems to have been the time PD visited generally.
Then I'll play with the modelling time from nine months to six months. That could be a possible November reveal. Plus, they've got a teaser silhouette under that cover. For sure it doesn't mean that's the actual car, but if it is, the car could be complete.
I'm also thinking back to the Mazda RX-V GT3. That was exactly six months from the concept sketch reveal at that World Tour event(November '19 to being added to GT Sport May '20).
However, looking back to the Genesis VGT, that was a couple years from its concepts to final car added to the game.
If the XIAOMI VGT teaser isn't a complete car, could be a ways off to next March.
