Why is Cote d' Azure not in the game??????????????????????????????

I dont get it??!?!?!

Oh wait, it is, you play it once during career mode. PD really needs to go out and hire people who understand them and also understand racing, I think hiring (atleast getting input from) the gtplanet crew would be pivitol.

Really, someone needs to start a petition to get PD to notice us? thr XP system is broken, there are too few races and we are forced to grind the same stupid tracks over and over, no variety in race types (no honda, lexus, ford, chevy, mercedes branded races, no real 50's, 60's, 70's 80's branded racing and so on)

how can you spend that much time focusing on cars and forget to add fun ways to play with them?

and what about rally events? not just the ones tucked away, but right there in a-spec.

Im at level 25, I enjoy this game and play it daily, but it bothers me that little tiny tweeks could have made this game SO much better. 9 more races per class would have done it, manufacturer races would have done it, perhaps even a muscle car event at SSr5 would have done it.

Honestly, if they had a "Mustang trans cammer only" event, we would have worked towards that and raced, and maybe a shelby mustang could have been the reward...its really not that complicated........

ugh, anyways, sorry if this was poorly thought out, just had to let it out

I just got done playing on Cote d' Azure for like 30 minutes...

Yes, the post was poorly thought out.

well, basically my argument is that some tracks did not get featured as much as they should have

for example, I really cant remember a race on SS7?? Was there one in A-spec?

Yeah and SSr7 isn't used at all, how's that for an oversight? Unless you look for it in Practice or Arcade mode you won't even know it's there. Would have been a good third event in "Like the wind" if you ask me.

exactly.

Having a track like that not used shows a severe lack of focus, goes hand in hand with the poor XP system.

And I keep hearing about "they will update via DLC" how?!? Im at level 25, do I have to go do races with a vitz on SSr7 if they add that in? for all their delays the game should have been done, and fun tracks (Azure) and fast tracks (SSR7) should have been featured more. I love GT, I love the driving, Im still grinding, but I would have enjoyed this journey more had they put some thought into it.

THE GAMEPLAY SUCKS.

We all know this. So let's all stop complaining about specific things. This is a 5/10 game and a 10/10 driving sim. As IGN put it.

It is known that Polyphony Digital do visit the forums on occasion. However, no member of the development team has ever made themselves known to us. If and when they visit, they do so as ghosts.

That said, GT Planet has no connection to Polyphony Digital - official or otherwise. We are a fansite, and while we might be the largest of our kind, our involvement with Polyphony Digital begins and ends there. The forums are not your personal hotline to Polyphony's offices, and any attempt to contact them through the forums will be deleted on sight. We have no way of knowing when they visit the forums, much less what they view and we certainly cannot verify that they will look at any post or thread addressed to them or act upon it. Therefore, and post or thread addressed to Polyphony Digital will fall under the banner of a useless post as it serves no purpose, and will be deleted on sight.

I'm not really complaining about anything, i do understand that PD has been working on this for quite some time but at the same time getting ready for bigger things as well.. doing this is no easy task.
I'm appreciative to have what we know as at Gran Turismo 5, the start of better things to come..

All games has their faults. Obviously they aren't going without notice, or else we wouldn't have updates to try and fix some of them before they move completely on to GT6.

Don't be redundant and keep stating the obvious, appreciate the sim for what it does bring us, not what it doesn't.

makes sense, but this isn't really about contact, more so about why certain tracks weren't featured, utilized, given love too etc. I just think SSR7, Azure, Toscana Road were done a disservice, and the ironic part is PD made those tracks themselves and chose not to use them to uplift their single player mode. So in that way, I'm just lamenting at lost opportunities.

The Grand Tour, where you went from location to location and drove certain cars gave me chills, I LOVED that, THAT is the formula and more of what we need(ed).

The gameplay is phenomenal, the career mode is badly thought.

Have you tried racing SSR7 or Monaco online or in arcade mode? Those are two of the most popular online courses among people I've raced online with.

Gameplay is VERY amazing, I just enjoy it when a good track comes along in career mode... and seeing the fireworks of SSR7 in career mode would have been sweet

I mean, I know we can play all of these tracks and so on, but it means more when its a pivotal race for points in career mode vs a non-consequential few laps around a track for no xp or money

Your post suddenly became invalid. See ISR for a better (partial) review.

How does IGN's become invalid? They look at it from a gaming perspective as GT is a game after all, and those are their thoughts. Just because you don't like their opinions doesn't make them false. That being said, I don't agree with IGN 100% of the time either.

Regarding tracks, I'm a bit disappointed that the courses featuring weather/time changes were barely used in the A-Spec mode.

Because they reviewed the game within such a small amount of time. Looking at how much content there is in GT5, it's an unfinished review.

Yeah I agreed, the career mode seems like they made it in 1 week, throw some unthought unbalanced events in and it´s done... License tests were not on PD standards... Special events are nice thats one good point...

There was so much hope in this game, we´ve seen windtunnels, I heared something about "what if" scenario races... You play an "only japanese cars" event and race in rome... WTH?

Seems like they focused 5 years on cars and a half year on the rest...

It is a bit nuts, but this is why we need a time trial mode with online leaderboards!:) I only just found the Deep Forest Raceway, that track rules. Time trial mode is where it will be for these tracks!

The sad thing is, it's not even a 10/10 driving sim. It doesn't come close to iRacing realism, and I'd only give iRacing a 9/10.

I'd give it a 7/10 game and a 7/10 sim, because there are some great aspects about the game aspect. The special events are awesome when they are relatively achievable...the Grand Tour is a great example the way the whole thing is played out. There are other cool things as well, but many shortcomings with that.

"You can't spell IGNorant without IGN"

And GT5's review confirmed that golden rule fully. The guy played the game just a few hours and then rushed out a review to get it published by 8 AM on release day. As a gaming writer, I'm always quite ashamed to see what some of my "colleagues" can pull out.

Quoting a review score from IGN basically removes any shred of credibility from any kind of argument.

Didn't know they put it like that. Well spoken :)

Still, I think they are quite right about the score. Ok, both 5/10 and 10/10 might be exaggerated a bit, but all in all it is a decent game and a far better sim. If you're not hooked on cars, but like driving games, you probably play this for about a month and move on.

A month is quite a lot more attention than 99% of games get from an average customer with an average attention span. The review was ridiculous and unprofessional to boot. Without even counting the evident double standards.

Haha, you might be right. I didn't think that through. I played GT4 for a bout a year straight and then another 2 years on and off, so a month didn't sound that long...

I think (having played most racing "sims") this game is as good as a "sim".
Instead of almost perfect physics and disgusting graphics you get almost perfect graphics with awesome physics.

see my point ?
