...it had very realistic; body damage, engine damage, chassis damage, tire wear/damage?

With the AI improved only so much as they don't spin off the track or hit walls anymore.

Have a serious think about whether you could get 100% in the game or not.

Thought about it?
Now add these into the bag:

Tighter race restrictions such as;
- No insane amount of HP allowed in championship series
- No TCS or ASM
- Tighter race rules on what cars can enter what races
- Introduction of a flag/penalty system:
BLACK FLAG; cutting too many corners, trying to spin the AI cars out, failing to do a drive through penalty, failing to pit in the allotted time frame etc...
DRIVE THROUGH PENALTY; spinning out a AI car on purpose, speeding in pit lane etc...

Now think even harder.

Would you be able to get 100% in GT3 if all of the above were features of the game?

Me, i think i would have gotten pretty close to 100%.
Maybe something like 88%.

I know i wouldn't have been able to do the F1 Championship and the Professional(?) Yaris championship would have been difficult too.

What about you. How far do you think you would have been able to get through the game?

I think i would manage 100%, but it would be a hell of a lot harder then it is now.
I had some rules of my own, like entering races only with a car that matched the A.I. cars, no TCS and ASM and driving clean, so it wouldn't be impossible. Just harder.

Man are you crazy, that sounds like real racing rules!:D

The AI would also not be able to bump and spin me out either, which has happened numerous times.

Last night I got pinned against a wall and all the AI cars used me as a bumper to get through the corner. 1st to 6th in seconds. I was in an S2000 LM and the RX7 Race car pushed me through the corner and into the wall, where I was immediately pounded by all the other cars.

That would be a black flag for the RX, and I would be a DNF for all the damage.

Personally I hate the ASM and TCS. I like the races to be tight and competitive, so I try to match horsepower, and will only bump the AI after I've been bumped.

i would most likely manage a 100% on it but it would sure as hell take longer than it took me to get 100% on the current game.

But i don't give up on a game until i've cracked it .

I personnaly would like to see some of these rules and features included in the next game
It would bring the realisim of racing that little bit closer...

Possibly not. The 2hr enduro on Trial Mountain has non modified cars. The question is could a factory car last 2 hrs at red line non stop? Same goes with the championship with 20 laps per race for 10 races in factory cars. The turbo models are likely to over heat etc etc.

I don't think you would be able to hold a car at red line the whole race, if you are, your doing something wrong.

no, I mean having a flat out race- first gear, take it to the redline, same with second, third, fourth etc. Heaps of stress on the engine. The only time the engine will go below 4000rpm is if it pits, or spins out/hits a wall;)

ok, I see, It would stress out the engine and of course cause damage, but I think you would be able to get 120 to 200 miles off a factory engine pushing it to the limits for one race, then you would have to replace it. Reason being, think of all those people in traffic and at lights that everytime they get to go, they stomp the gas and stomp the brakes. That is actually worse for a car then holding it.

It would be alot harder than it is now, and I did the same thing as you Mischa where I set myself rules to follow and always had to drive a clean race.

And since Mr. Holland is such an absolute bad ass, he could do 100% easily.

If the F1 championship wasn't in the game i'd easily get 100% but i really, really don't like those cars.

Sure does sound like a challenge, but a shame we probably have a decade before all those rules are attached to a GT game.
