Just fooling around with the camera on Sunday, and took a couple of shots in the backyard.

Behold - photographic evidence that I washed the car! Note behind the car is our shed - it might be old and decrepit, but it's ours!!

Okay, here's a shot of the back of the house - note our sole improvement so far - a satellite TV dish (neighbours have got one too!).

Here's one of our child..., er, cats - this would be Paris, cautiously returning to the yard after her natural enemy, the hose, has been vanquished.

...and a shot back to the street along the side driveway.

There's two blocks of Housing Commission flats near us - we were devastated to learn after buying the place that the buildings are rumoured to have concrete cancer and will probably need to be knocked down - NOT!!!

Nice place Vat, the brick shed is awsome, the Sube looks exellent, and cool doggy!

Nice house!

Although to me it kinda looks like one of those houses from the tv programme neighbours :D

Congrat's vat-man! So how does it feel?

Look's like a real nice place you got there, any pic's of the front of the house?

Like the car too!

That's not a dog ... that's a cat ...

Yeah man, nice pad. So have you got a guest room for me when I come to visit? (:

nice car Vat. make any modifications?

Yeah ... he washed it. Didn't you read his post? Ha ha ha ...

I washed my car recently too. Yeah, the grass needed to be watered so I did the standard rain dance ... washed the car and threatened to turn on the sprinklers. Rain came down like hail for hours.

Can we hold the "Southern Hemisphere GTPlanet Convention" in Vat's Back yard? I'll try to convince the wife to spring for a round trip ticket, and a keg!

Nice place. Looks like a trip to the local hardware store for a few cans of paint, though.

Congrats in a big way! That's my next goal in life.

ahahahah Loud when I looked at the pic this morning it looked like a dog...

Nice cat Vat!

The fence is old and decrepit. The shed rules! :p

Do you park right on your grass?

Very nice place there!

Never mind holiday over there, I have always wanted to emigrate to Australia!
Just wish it was that easy though :(

sweet place ya got there! You could turn your shed into an office or somrthin' and put secret passages and stuff in there.

The shed is most excellent - I won't be tunnelling out of there, the floor is very hard concrete. Whoever put that down wasn't fooling around.

I don't park on the grass, but I am a firm advocate of washing your car on your lawn, otherwise all the detergent (well, I actually use very little) runs straight into the storm water, and therefore into the harbour and the surf. Besides, it's a cheap way of watering your lawn.

I'll get some shots of the front next weekend - keep an eye out for this thread popping up sometime on Friday.

...and Mazkid, you thought that was a dog? Man, you need a bigger monitor...

That's more than a couple of pictures, vat man...

Nice place, and nice car, too. What car is that? :)

lol Vat, actually I posted that from school where the monitors suck...and I didn't look at it much so it looked like a doggy heh...

You should park the Sube in the shed....or buy another car just to park in the shed. You need a car in that shed!

We need to put about 5 of them sheds behind our house with a road or drive for our fleet...that would be too cool, but illegal I think...I don't think that the STL land dept or whatever you call it would like it...

We should just do my idea of making a drive to the back of our house, and putting a garage door to the basement. Then we can park our extra cars in the basement...but evidently that won't work...I donno why...

But your place has that cozy look...it looks like it just fits in there perfectly and everything looks nice.

Our house, doesn't...our back porch is nice, and the driveway, but the back yard(aka dog crapping grounds) doesn't look right...it looks like there should be a shed back there or an extra garage...we are thinking of making a deck out the back of our house where the sandbox is/was(cause it's turning into a weed box(no not Pot damn!))and I reckon if it's done right, we could park a car or 2 or 3 under it, but that would involve putting some sort of surrounding on it with a gate(this would be underneath the deck) and also some sort of water drainage system so the water and crap doesn't just go on the cars...

Blah I should do this stuff myself!

Only thing with the shed is that whoever built it (and I'm guessing it was in the 50's or 60's) had a very narrow car, and actually built two raised concrete strips for the car to park on - too close together to put the Sube in. I also doubt it would fit through the door.

Also, I wouldn't want to park in the building that is my current nomination for 'shed most likely to collapse in a storm sometime in the next two years'.

Longer term it's our intention to rebuild the shed into a proper one car garage with a bit of room for a full size work bench and tools.

very nice house! reminds me a lot of the place i used to live when i was a kid!

Erm Vat can you take a pic from the driveway to the back yard...I'd like to see the size and complete layout of the back...I have an idea of what you could do if everything is right...
