Course maker might be released in next update?

Is that right?

Just that I read it was in Beta about a year ago. Someone suggested it was due in 1.14 but there was a bug.
It's nearly a year and no fuel depletion or tyre wear in offline arcade.
If someone from PD would just come out and explain why all the delays, It would be ok but all you get is total silence.

There's no more reason to believe that it will be released in the next patch than any other.
 
Truth is Pd have a release schedule and they miss deadlines constantly its the only thing there consistent with. personally i hope they do bring the course creator and the app etc out soon before there Gt6 aniversery release but i wouldn't like to say it be in the next update look at sierra it took forever to be released even after they showed it off. I highly doubt i'll buy GT7 now as the ps3 gran turismo's have been shockingly bad compared to previous games

yes we could with there budget and our understanding of how the game should progress piece of cake you just got to remove the work flow obstruction of kaz yamauchi he is the biggest problem with the franchise. he done wonders on previous generations but in all honestly there was no real competition. After that the industry has made some remarkable driving games made possible by the work of pd showing them a path to follow but as kaz walked the competition has sprinted but kaz is still stuck at a leisurey pace
 
Course maker was good I had a racetrack in GT5 in the shape of a triangle up and down hill.

Any feature might be released in any update - we don't know until the update arrives. We've heard nothing specific about a course maker/creator/editor feature coming in any impending updates, so there's no reason to suggest that it's coming.

"Someone" always suggests something. If it's not an official source - even if it's GTPlanet, even though we do our best and have good lines of communication - it's not information you can rely on.

In fact you can just about guarantee that now you've started this thread, someone somewhere else will say that "someone" suggested Course Maker will come in v1.15. And that someone is you. This is how these rumours start, and then PD fail to live up to them and get pilloried for it, for something that wasn't even theirs in the first place.

In fact, it'll probably get reported as "GTPlanet" says, which is pretty much exactly what we don't want, because we'll get ripped on for it.

That's because PD aren't a PR company. Their PR is handled by Sony Computer Entertainment - with the exception of the Pitstop Blog, which you can probably still guarantee is vetted by SCE.

That said, I'm not aware of any delays. We've never been given a date for a course maker, just the promise that it'll come in a future update. I've certainly never heard a thing about fuel and tyre use in arcade mode, so I don't know why that's supposedly delayed either.

:odd: because someone butted in with no constructive argument just a cocky statement. The buck stops at the boss and that is kaz who else are people going to point the finger at? i am not willing to wait another 10 years to get to were a lot of games are now and that is a simple racing game that actually gives you a competitive race offline as well as online. i can go all day with there rights and wrongs its not about that, its about progress and little gimmicky and flashy things don't impress me one bit. i want that feeling i had with the previous titles.

And did i say he wasn't working on the game? no i didn't he aint focusing on what really matters constancy & game play
 
Making an effective, accurate glitch free GPS course editor is not something that would be considered simple. It takes time, if you know a way to do it quickly and efficiently than I'm sure pd would hire you on the spot. I do agree that PD counted their chickens before they hatched though

But you are not getting my point i highly doubt kaz touches much code if any at all these days , he has minions and lots of them. if i have made my local track with free software and gps data why cant a huge company with a big budget cant just knock one out is beyond me.. but thats what i am saying kaz is not efficient manager.

What i am saying we need someone at the head who will crack the whip or fire people if they do not make their targets is that much to expect?

Actually Sparky the conversation isn't about the Course Maker because we don't have the Course Maker and don't know anything about it, the OP is clearly frustrated with the time it's taking to release the feature and with the total lack of communication from PD/Sony on the matter. Since Kaz is the head of the company that is charged with creating and releasing the course maker, he becomes part of the discussion by default as does the rest of the game and it's other delayed features and content.

i have all ready answered the original question to the best of my knowledge of how pd works and the simple answer is nobody knows, its all speculation. i wish you came into the discussion trying to give an alternative answer with more insight but you know as much as me. you simply quoted me on something i said like i was implying kaz was stopping his team working when actually i was questioning his management or lack of it

By this time most of the features except B-spec and Course Maker have been released. Disregarding the rest of the game the greatest concern of the OP is PD's infamous comunication skills. Bringing in the discussion of the state of the way racing and A.I. was handled since GT6's release is kind of unnecessary. Kaz as Producer and Director of the GT franchise is directly responsible for the game and PD and that is indeed correct.

We can all agree on being in the dark about when course maker is actually releasing.

To me personally i have a lot of nostalgia with the game and without that would i even be here? probably not. i just breaks my heart they keep taking features away for no reason. ai in gt 1-4 wasnt the best but at least they gave you an experience of racing. in it's currant form i cant help looking envious of the competition that gt inspired. i don't want to fling this term around but i am not a fan boy of grandturismo i am a fan of Motorsport. it's feeling like they just done the basic's so we cant just compete online this just isn't enough for me i been gaming for over three decades and maybe i am just stuck in the mindset of older generation that got a complete game.

PS caps lock is broke on my keyboard i can only input caps when spell checker prompts me too sorry for this its been on my list to fix and replace but no one mentioned it until now, i'll see what i can do

That's not what we're waiting for though. That's a separate addition that will come after the course maker itself. It's a two part thing, and the first part doesn't involve the GPS app.

Of course, they could be delaying the release of the course maker so that they can release it at the same time as the GPS app, but that would seem odd when they originally described them as two things.

This feature, available at a later stage through an update, will allow you to create your own custom tracks that can be driven in the game. Additionally, in another update we will add the possibility to generate a track by capturing the GPS coordinate data of a mobile app while you are driving that course. This GPS-generated tracks will be available in the game as playable content.

Yeah I saw that. For both it would be complicated to program especially elevation changes and the environment(s) around the track (that's without the GPS feature)

Well now you know. I wasn't trying to be a pain, either--I was genuine in saying that it added difficulty to reading your posts.
 
Even if it does arrive it's far too late I think the damage has been done. If I was PD I wouldn't waste time on it for GT6 instead concentrate on GT7.
 
Eventually they will come out and say: "Sorry guys, you should patiently wait for GT7 to see a proper track and livery editor, the Ps3 isn't enough for that. Enjoy your GT6 seasonals and Vision GT until then."

It's reasonable to assume that they have a release schedule. Wether or not they miss it constantly is not something that we can determine, because we haven't actually seen the schedule.
