This looks like it could be a fun game. A mix between Transformers, Full Auto, GTA, Saints Row, and Robocop.

Some different pictures I have taken from the demo. They include climbing the agency tower and rock climbing with the SUV. The SUV has some really good articulation. :sly:





















A couple more random pictures including the vehicles at level 4. Last night I noticed one of the gang members car was doing a wheelie. So I also posted a picture of that car. It sais "Los Muertos" on the side and will wheelie from a dead stop if it has full health. I also added pictures from when my girlfriend and I were rock climbing together. I really like the pic from the rear of the SUV. Those tires are huge!!

Last I heard it was supposed to be out yestereday but I guess the game got bumped until next year. 2/1/07
I will update the first post.
 
Thought this might catch some attention. I will be pre-ordering 2 of these tonight after work.

The date also got bumped again to some time around 2/20/07
 
What's funny is this is something bungie DIDN'T want to do, and it's a slap in the face to the Crackdown development team.

Honestly, I have infinately more respect for Bungie now than I did before, because of their recent defiance of Microsoft.

First it was taking Halo 3 over to Iraq to let the troops play it over the holidays, which had MS outraged because they couldn't get any publicity over the event.

Now it's Bungie saying "Screw you Billy, we'll give our fans our OWN beta". The first 13,333 people to register (when it opens) for the Halo 3 beta will be given an access key.

Go Bungie :)

Well, here's the run down on everything.

In Iraq, Bungie did the deed, and MS was PISSED because they coudln't get the publicity and exploitation from "supporting the troops". They wanted sponsorships, press coverage, everything. Bungie did it 100% on their own without MS's approval. And MS can't do anything about it, becuase if they screw bungie, they screw themselves.


As for the other Betas, no. The Crackdown / H3 beta will still be available, but that was NOT the choice of Bungie. SO, instead of screwing the customer to get a H3 beta, like MS is doing, bungie, again, went under MS's nose to set up their own H3 beta testing system. :) I love it!

I am ordering it because I want Crackdown. That game looks great. If you look a couple threads up September 6 2006 you will see that I already said I was going to buy this game even before I heard of the Halo 3 beta. ;) I try to buy pretty much any game if it has co-op that way my girlfriend and I can play and enjoy the games together. :) I honestly dont expect to be able to play the beta but if I do get a chance thats great. If not its not big deal. I have way more than enough games already to keep me busy.
 
Looks like the recent rumor is that there will be a demo for Crackdown coming out this thursday the 18th. It will be for single player AND for the co-op!!!:dopey:

What it comes down to is that I'm not looking to spend $60 on the game, however I do want to be a part of the Halo 3 beta... As the chances of being a part of that 13,333 players that get in without Crackdown seems awfully small given the fanbase the franchise has.

Well the thing that sets this apart from all the other GTA clones is the fact that you can play through the entire game as a co-op over xboxlive! :dopey:
As a huge GTA fan I have wanted to do that since the GTA series started. This is finally the opportunity to do that and I am definetly looking forward to it. You also have to consider that it was created by Dave Jones (the creater of the GTA games) 👍

If you buy it maybe we can play the co-op online some time. I am sure I will be playing through it over and over again like I have with the co-op in GOW. I have already been through GOW front to back at least 11 times now just because of the co-op campaign. 👍
 
I updated the Crackdown demo in the title with the confirmed information. I guess we will have to wait until tuesday 23rd.

The Crackdown demo is now on xbox live market place, I'd down load it now but I've got to sleep now. It's like 1.2gb!
 
Congrats Skyline for getting into the Halo 3 beta. I assume you signed up for it a while back or is that from pre-ordering Crackdown?
I will be playing the Crackdown co-op later tonight with Heather when I get out of work. I CANT WAIT!!!! I have been looking forward to this game since I first made this thread last year. :dopey:

I signed up for it but pretty late though because I saw a article on megagames that said that 140,000 users had signed up in the first 24 hours and I had no idea about it but I figured oh well its worth a try, I didnt expect to get in and I dont know what criteria they are using to pick but yesterday I got the email so I was surprised.

I just checked my e-mail and this is the notification I recieved. This just means I will know in a couple days if I am selected or not. The notification sais this is 1 of 3 ways to get in. I am pretty sure I wont be selected but thats ok.

I actually got both notifications at the same time but they said they are going to let people know from jan 22 to jan 26th and then for the rule of 3 way some time in february, you can see the details at www.halo3.com
 
So how are people liking it?

It's really grown on me. I wasn't sure what to do at first really, and it seemed too similar to the GTA sandbox style of play, but once I started upgrading the fun really started. I really, really love the upgrading skills and attributes aspect. Jumping around 15 feet in the air across rooftops is superb.

Heather downloaded the demo on both of our 360s. The problem is that I am still at work. Once I get out we will be playing co-op and I will give some feedback on the demo. There are already demo gameplay videos on Gametrailers.com. 👍 From what I could tell you can level up different powers like shooting, strength, and jumping. Once your strong enough you can throw people and cars and jump very very high. Cant wait to play it tonight!!!!
 
The demo is very fun. We played the co-op for 3 hours which was around 3 full games. There was just soo much to do it was ovewhelming. You can also level up your guy in several different ways. You increase your driving skills by driving, your strength by picking up things and beating up the enemies with your bare hands, jumping skills by finding orbs, and also shooting skills by..shooting. lol
Once you are strong enough you can pick up cars and trucks!!! You can also jump extremly high. The explosions and graphics are quite nice. Not top notch for the 360 but they are nice and very colorful. Since its cell shading it allows the game to do much more with the explosions and the physics. The skills in the demo are accelerated that way you level up real fast to seee what your skills will be like. The full game will take much longer to level up.
The car sounds are actually decent too. I guess as your driving skill increases your cars actually transform. Some get guns and other weapons.
There is a huge tower in the game that I want to eventually climb but I guess you have to have level 3 jumping skills to make it to the top. There is also a huge ferris wheel at the carnival that I want to check out too.
Overall I think this is going to be a great game and I would say you must team up with a friend and play through the entire game as a co-op! 👍
 
yeah, i played it for about 1 hour so far and its really fun. There's this thing about being a bionic commando guy that's just fun... Jumping like crazy and kick/flying enemies in the face... the "lock-targeting" system is cool and lets you create some very interesting "combos" ;)
