How does the PS3 act during these crashes? Blinking red light or just locking up?

I'm having the same problem i bought an Evo 9 went to custom parts and crashed the red light blinked after the system turned off

mine does the same, just randomley crashes three beeps and a blinking red light, this is the only game its ever happened on , its driving me mad, iv reformatted, done the secret menu options and nothing works

No probs on Slim120. Played for 12h and everything's ok (till ps meltdown) , but some other threads reports some issues - crash , freeze.

my mates slim 12 gig has never done anything like this, and we played gt6 for 6 hours straight on it yesterday maybe its a fatty issue. is isnt overheating cause it does it even if the system is cold
