So I pre-ordered my copy of Anniversary edition of GT6 with Game.co.uk, and it's just arrived. Yes, that's over a month late. In the meantime I borrowed a friend's regular version, got up to international b, millions of credits AND unlocked 5 special cars with my emailed code. I thought the discs would be the same.

Now I just inserted my new disc and GT6 wants updating, won't see my current saves or unlocks. And now it won't load. The anniversary edition is disc code BCES-01977. The regular version that I've borrowed is BCES-01893.

Should I;

a) remove current gt6 data and start again with my new anniversary edition disc?
b ) put anniversary disc in friends box and let him have it?

You should edit this title first so as to not upset the mods with the AUP.

Well, in my opinion starting over isn't worth it. The cars that come with the AE edition are 25 cars sure, but you could easily buy it yourself with the money you made. A month of progress is a lot of time and money and cars, now its your disc but to me,but I wouldn't back out of my investment for some small buyout (ae cars).

Plus, I got that version and I used maybe the 86 GT 15 AE and that was it, most of em are in my stockyard as of now.

Up to you mate.

The Anniversary stuff is obtained through a code in the AE box. You should be able to just enter your code in PS Store and unlock your Anniversary gifts for your existing game. 👍

I would save my data to a flash-drive, load the new game with the updates and then load then save from the flash-drive....I would think that save data is save data....you could also contact tech support at Sony and get advice...

Why? Trust me, the solution I outlined is the way to go. 👍

Not that @Vagabond needs any validation from me but what he said is the way to go and I'd also do as he suggested with the disk as well.

Pointless deleting anything and re-loading as it really won't achieve anything other than wasting a whole bunch of time 👍

That's what I needed to know... There's nothing special about the disc at all, is there?

I doubt there are any differences apart from being regional, my standard edition disc has the same code as your AE disc, BCES-01977.

No mention of it here tho....

What also seems strange to me is the save folder is named 'BCJS37016-GAME6' which would be the JP version, and the game cover has the code 'BCES-01905'.
