Crazy new cheating method at race start

Tonight I decided to dust off my DualShock 4 and try to up my SR a bit after being hit by dirty adversaries at the last FIA race. I'm losing motivation to continue playing after all the disastrous changes implemented by PD, but now I found another reason to forget GTS for good.

Look at this race start. Guy brakes and his car suddenly starts accelerating as if it was a Red Bull X2014. The guy behind was strangely fast too, doing laps under 1:32:00 with a couple of assists on. His qualifying time was above 1:32:500. At least his lines seemed ok, but with all this cheating going on now it's impossible to know...

Looks like a typical glitched out start to me. This has been happening since launch and is absolutely not a cheat, lol.

Really? Never seen anyone doing this. How is it not cheating? Why would anyone brake at that moment?

Glitch, not a cheat. Bugged starts happen quite a bit at Interlagos

Isn't is auto drive in control at that point? Looks like a typical connection problem. Second place has a bad connection to first place, his consoles thinks pole is lagging / not going thus auto drive slows him down to wait for pole to go, bunching up the cars behind. Connection clears up, now auto drive tries to catch everyone up to pole while pole gets slowed down to wait for the rest, 3, 2, 1, bad timing.

However it can be cheated with a lag switch. Rare, but I've seen someone do it on Blue moon bay, mysteriously dropping to a 1 bar connection and glitching out in turn 1 taking out the cars ahead, then driving without issues for the rest of the track. The game disconnects you sooner nowadays so that's now much harder to do I would think. Butchered starts due to lag happen often though.
 
The problem is if someone has a glitched start and then continues on to win while glitched it is still in my opinion cheating .


The fact this has been in the game with out being fixed for awhile. Some are saying , speaks to pd/sony ignoring the majority who try and stay within fair play .

For me it comes down to why would i want to support a company that releases a faulty product , then does nothing to fix it .

Maybe we need recall laws for video games ?

He hit the brakes during the auto-drive, slowing down everyone else. Then is car starts accelerating as if it had to catch up with mine before the start but keeps the momentum. His car - only his car - had speed that was totally unrealistic for that moment. Notice that he even had to brake right after the 100m board, so clearly he knew he had much more speed than normal. No one brakes at that point when it's a rolling start. I've seen glitched starts, but never anything like this. Can't find anything similar on YT either...

I really doubt that hitting the brakes at that moment was a glitch. Seems like he knew what he was doing.

Auto - drive means just that.

What that then means is the guy can stick an elephant on his accelerator still auto drive will automatically drive his car ignoring all inputs.

You're right. I remember using the brakes once during a rolling start, but tested it again now and there's no input during that moment. Still, this was a weird glitch and I haven't seen anything similar.

Not really unless they using that cheat tool but thats not something seen often if at all.

Its the game getting glitched and correcting himself his car s not magic the rest of the race and its not something we cn control as end users aside from having good connections but hard to insure t all the time.

Im not buying it because every glitch that can give a person a unfair advatage on this game gets used to win.

That is a big problem for a game trying to enter esports . Does pd want the best racers or the best to put up with more than too many glitches that allow some people to play in a unfair manner?

Glitches dont mean a hacked car. Its not his car thats got a glitch its the game ;) understand online 12 or so different internet connections not always strong connections they have to make the GAME handle the varying connections and quality.

So conecton goes bad the game loses track of what to show who. YOU VISIALLY see him sit on the line or everybody crash out and you take the lead, connection comes back and game puts everybody back where they supposed to be... Buy buy lead everybody X car flew past you, but they really didn't ;)

To each individual they see things fine for themselves but you see things not actually happing while GAME catches up.

Its not a cheater, its the world of online racing games

PD tried to delay the race start for a while until all connections sorted out. That led to sometimes having to wait for half a lap in until the race started. There even was a race that was entirely run in auto drive :lol: Start gets messed up often, usually half way down the grid resulting in a huge gap and piled up cars at the back. Statistically it will happen with 2nd place as well.

so your saying there is no glitches people use to cheat ? I disagree. Simple as that .

I didn't watch them all But at Fuji the top times were basically perfect drives, all with a wheel though.

Last week we had wall riders on Blue moon bay and the best corner cutters at Sarthe. I expect some creative use of track limits at Fuji as well, unless PD has somehow fixed the limits to correspond with 2 wheels inside the white line.

On Monza we had people in the top 10 scrubbing penalties to get a faster time. Horse thief mile is notorious for people skipping the last part of the track to set a faster time lol.

How do you know they were all with a wheel? Does it show in the rankings what input type was used?
 
Yeah it has a tiny orange wheel if its a wheel user and blank if not

Prime example right here, skip to 28 seconds into the video and watch the Ferrari doing wheelies and driving in reverse during the rolling start. Something tells me he wasn’t really driving in reverse or doing wheelies. :)


 
Sure its not a Ferarri that wheelies like a Demon glitch to cheat a win lol jk..

Yeah scary when it happens dont know for certain where they gonna pop up and stay lol

Yeah it sucks when they’re right in front of you, I wanted to go by him but I didn’t know where he really was lol.

Not in this case, as I was faster for the 4 laps. Cheating or not, he gained an unfair advantage.

This is normal lag and happens often. Never seen lag make a car accelerate like in my video though.
 
Not sure what you mean by faster

If hes in front of you there is much room lap to lap to cut a faster lap time but still be behind in Track Position. End of the Race Track position matters. You could start last and beat the guy who snag pole a second each lap faster but if his track position is in front of you across the line he wins. I get fastest lap without winning the race it don't mean anything.

Either way HE could of been looking at you doing triple axle pirouettes while you saw him zoom what you see is not really whats going on. Ive seen what you've seen and worse in some videos lol it's at no fault of the users so big deal, its fair play as after not being the users fault or even in their control in most cases (aside from get a faster connection lol) it can happen to anybody and while you see stupidness hes actually driving just as you are while he see you or anybody else doing that.
